Task Name: Cleaning up the stage
Tier: 1
NPC or PC: NPC
Location: Karate Island
Crew, Team, or Personal: Personal
Description: Sturm made quite the mess in the local store. He feels kind of bad about it. So he goes back to help the lad clean and repair things.
Enemy Details: N/A
Boss: Nien

It had only been a few hours since the incident took place. Where there was a man half sticking out the wall, lifeless. Then there was another with his brains splattered all over the back of the wall. Sturm would have just simply left the mess there for someone else to clean up but he looked back for a moment. Something in the back of his mind made him turn around. A conscious that he thought was gone ages ago.

'he is just a boy, he should not have to clean that up.'

Maybe it was because of his past but a innocent lad should not be subjected to such a thing. No this was not saying Sturm was soft any way. However, he did have manners and some sense of righteousness. Even if it was a jaded dark form of it, he still had it. He would have been no better than a common murderer. He let out a deep sigh and pushed himself to walk back to the simple store. He stopped for a moment to only see the detachment of marines at the front door. He suddenly dashed to the corner of a building and hid himself in the shadows. He did not want to get spotted, at least not yet. He pressed himself to the side of the building and looked around slightly. His eyes quickly counted the number of marines present. No more than 5 of them stood at the door. He could safely assume there was a few inside. These marines stood outside with weapons drawn. He cursed under this breath. He could not go back right away due to the amount of people there.

'I will just come back later.' He thought to himself. He continued to watch for a few moments before body bags were carried out. The marines formed back up and marched off towards the water area. One could only guess that there was a marine vessel sitting on the water that functioned as a base of operations. The marines had their backs completely turned and walked off. He waited to see if anyone else came out of the building. Only a older man with apron on stood outside the door. This fellow had to be the boys father. Sturm let out yet another deep sigh. His anxiety had started to get the better of him because he knew that he had some explaining to do. Funny one should say anxiety, he had it on a regular basis when he was out of combat. Without the rush of adrenaline his paranoia and anxiety got the better of him at times. He was no way a coward, just hated to do certain things. Who would want to explain to someone two dead bodies on their property. It did not take a rocket scientist to figure out that it was bad for business. Having the marines present at the time would only serve as a hindrance to people wanting to shop. As no one is allowed in and most likely interrogations.

Sturm waited a bit more before heading into the open again.

Sturm watched from the corner of a building that was adjacent from the convince store. It was angled in such a way a mighty shadow was castes over the part where he was standing at. He did not move much as he did not want to alert the men getting back into formation. Two long body bags were carried out on stretchers. The soldiers who stood guard moved into position and began to move towards the horizon. The same direction of the docks where their ship most likely waited. He did not feel any remorse for the two souls he added to his collection. They deserved to be cleansed for their corruption and wrong doing. Had Sturm not been present who knows what could have happened to the boy. It was a twisted sense of justice but it was better than corruption. Sturm only kills with reason and his reason usually is a means to a end. In other words he has methods for his madness. Only he would know the grand design of his actions. As he always planned ahead.

Looking at the store entrance it looked as if no one was taken away. One man came out of the store, Sturm only caught a glimpse of the coat before sliding back into the darkness. The Marine Captain peered over in his direction that caused that sudden movement. He did not see anything but it was a close one. He could have had a entire detachment of Marines barreling down on him. He cursed under his breath for being so sloppy in his movement. 'Shit, that almost ended badly.' The marine captain turned back to the store owner and left with his group of men towards the docks. Sturm waited a few moments before peering around. He could only deduce that he did not get seen. If the marine did see him he would have acted or sent his lackeys in. After about a minute or two passed by, Sturm peaked around the corner cautiously. He saw the marines had their back turned to the store as they marched off. The sun was slowly setting as noon turned into dusk.

Sturm did not hesitate, he moved towards the store with the quickness. He pushed the door open causing the bell to be rung. He stood in the doorway of the shop looking in. To his left a hole was left by the marine that was tossed like common garbage. While to his right there was blood stains on the floors and walls. Directly in-front of him there was the boy and his father.

The man did not turn as he was mopping the blood that stained the floor. “Look he told you everything he knows leave my boy alone.” The boy had some wood in his hands to patch the hole up in the wall. His eyes met the rose tinted goggles of Sturm causing him to smile. “Hey there again big fella!” Since his tone was a bit more chipper his father was startled and turned around quickly. He gripped the mop with both hands and moved in front of his son to shield him from on coming danger. It was most likely a parental reflex that the father had. It caused Sturm to freeze up for a moment. As the man doing this showed what kind of man he was. This was enough to make Sturm smile as a flashback of his own son danced across his memory before fading. He snapped back to reality. The boy would speak for him however, “Dad this is him! That is the man who stepped in.”

The man's worried expression soon left his face. He did not realize it but he clenched the mop with both hands as if he was going to use it as a weapon. This had to be a subconscious thing as he looked down at his hands and then quickly put the head of the mop back on the floor. He quickly wiped his hands off on his apron and stuck out a hand. Sturm looked confused almost at these series of events. However, out of reflex he shook the man's hand calmly.

“Thank you.”

This was a shock cause he expected to be outcast instantly. As two cadavers were left behind by him. The man stepped away from the door way so Sturm could come inside. He walked in and closed the door behind him. As he moved away from the door, the man moved in and closed the blinds so no one could look in. “Look before you say anything, or try to explain. I want to say thank you once again, those marines have been nothing but trouble since they came around. They come in here frequently to 'confiscate' goods or ask for payment for this imaginary protection.”

The man resumed mopping as his son moved to patch up the wall. Being the man he is Sturm took the boards of wood from the lad and began to help. “The pleasure is all mine, Gerald Sturm by the way. I was just shopping when all of that happened.” The two went to work on the wall quickly placing some temporary wood over the hole until the local carpenter could come by and fix it. The boy smiled and gave the giant cowboy a thumbs up. “The name's Tom and that's Finn.” He would only tip his hat at the lad as they already met. “Well I want to help clean up the mess I made then I must be going because no telling when they are coming back.” Sturm explained. The man nodded and some time passed by as they picked up the pieces of the store. They managed to clean up the store as a group pretty quickly. He Sturm did not divulge a whole lot of information about himself. He just listened to the stories of the father. “By any chance will we be able to see your face before ye leave?” Sturm did not say anything as he began to leave. He turned and showed them his face by pushing up his goggles and removing his scarf. They saw the scars of time and Sturm only spoke. “This is why I hate marines so much.” With that being said he turned to exit the building. Sturm left when the sun completely set, he would only fade into the darkness.
