It was the middle of the night and almost everyone except for the party crowd had gone to sleep. off in the corner of Logue Town a girl sitting underneath the city in a small hidden away hole made due with the tools at her disposal. With blueprints in hand, she had gathered enough tools to forge a bit of a gadget, though she liked to call them cybernetics, or in her case soon to be synthetics. it was a painful and dull process to most, but to Yomi this is what she lived for. Though she didn't have much within her right now, she wished to eventually create works of art which would scale beyond just her own biology and to every living creature potentially on the planet, if she could do that, then maybe just maybe, all of the cruelty and atrocities that she had committed in the past would be avenged. Perhaps this is why they called her an edge lord, had she been too creepy recently? No, it must just be the way she looked, oh how she yearned to look like she had in the past, before this affliction.

These musing came to her as she looked at what she was about to start, a creation which was more of a mesh than anything else. It was big, designed specifically for her body size and proportions. if she completed this then it would mean she would be safer from most forms of attacks and would still be light, but as with always every one of these improvements made her question if she was really still human.

As Yomi looked upon her various tools, she noticed that most of them were far than adequate to her normal surroundings, if only she was actually at THAT place she could use the full resources of her lab, for now, she would have to make something that was simple yet elegant in its way. Crafting the steel until it was thin but layered would be the main task. Thankfully she had the furnace for it, but it was mostly the time waiting that was turning out to be the killer. She wasn't a blacksmith, instead, she had to actually map it out and pace herself with a timer. She didn't have a knack for it other than her smarts, which she thankfully had plenty of. It took most of the night to finish up with the main weave and even then it was in chunks as to make it safer for the eventual transplantation. The process was simple, make the weave like a chain mail coat, but thin and reinforced with a bit of layering. Normally this would mean that it would be extremely heavy, but that is where Yomi's science took hold.

The next night as she returned from her little skulking about the island, Yomi got back to work. She had created an unstable chemical in her other experiments, which when applied to a metal would increase the durability of it by a huge amount. This, in theory, meant that if she combined it with herself, she would be far tougher, but she had to put that to the test...

Now came the worst part, she had to take it and meld it into her own flesh. The compound she had put on top of the metal to make it far more durable almost made it, for a little while, more suitable for her body. The only problem is a modification of this magnitude meant that Yomi wouldn't be mobile for a quite a while and she would have to rely on others to get her what she needed. Thankfully she had vVcktor right now, otherwise, this wouldn't be possible. So this is what teamwork meant, she was used to working in dark makeshift labs like this all the time, well at least before everything had happened to her, now she knew these places as her home rather than a proper facility. Looking towards the mesh as it was glowing she started to prepare a bath for her with the same substance, designed to make her molecules the same frequency as the mesh, and then all it took was simply "putting it on", though sadly that was anything from really simple. it meant that she would have to focus on making it so that everything was in the correct spot as she infused it, and had to wait for the time to run by until it was finished. basically a sitting duck for a time being till it was done. Still, the payoff would be worth it, at least for the time being, as it would make her able to perform her duty on this island a little better than normal.

The mesh was ready, the bath was ready, but was her heart ready for this. It had been a long road since she had come here, but the time was right, or so she believed, it was all so unclear. On the one hand, she could test it out on a random organ from maybe the zombie, but the results wouldn't be the same. Hopefully, she wouldn't end up dead, and she had managed to get enough for her to be comfortable for the waiting time. Getting into the bath, she sighed, this was the best she could do without a proper tank to soak within. This strange substance that she had made, she needed to come up with a name for it at some point, right now it was just blue glowing stuff, which was a terrible name you couldn't actually patent. Perhaps that was the real struggle, naming all that she had come up with.

Thoroughly washing her body with the compound she made sure to introduce the mesh in a subtle way, didn't stop it from hurting like a massive pain right in the rear end. Seriously this hurt like no tomorrow, but at the same time, she didn't want to actually give up on it, despite how much her body was begging her too. At the end of the day, it would all be worth it. Holding back some of the screams she just kept it going until it was nearly done, or at least what she thought was nearly done.

The pain was subsiding right now, but it still felt stiff to move. She had been basic locked down for quite a little while. This process was less about actually combining and making the cybernetic and more about simply waiting it out. Yomi had performed on enough test subjects to know that the risks were great, but thankfully she had brought her notes with her to make this transition painless. Making the compound was the real problem as getting all of the materials past all of the security had been no easy feat, quite a few ended up missing their shifts and then a few more ended up just becoming missing. This meant that at the end of the day she wouldn't be able to stay here for much longer. As the mesh settled within her and she started to move, she noticed it acting stiff at first, very stiff and painful. Like a sore muscle, which made sense, but at least it felt like her muscle rather than someone else's or a strange metal. This meant that it was bonding to the point of being indistinguishable from her normal body, and that was the best part of all of it, that she had managed to "master" this level of creation and fusion to such a degree. Again if she had her lab this would be mostly painless, but it was a good test to show that even if she had little to work with she could be successful. Cut to a few hours later and she was up and moving as normal, enhanced and hopefully getting ready to leave this place.
