Posting for Sabo and doing my best, pray for me. Sorry if I missed some details, just read through the topic. Gonna throw a hardball, just so i'm sure there was a real challenge, then we'll cruise if y'all pass. - P-Daddy
Yes, yes, yes. The man, Cyrus, but Jane didn't know his name, spoke and gave her the time she needed. The switch she had pulled in response to the EMP going off obviously had effects that countered the EMP given the lights were flickering back on. Jane herself being a Cyborg and resisting the EMP was also a testament to the fact she possessed technology that shrugged off such a potentially disadvantageous piece of technology. Why she asked about the man's EMP and entertained him talking was simply to buy her time, she was also interested in knowing if it was really him that made the tech though. It wasn't often she encountered other great minds. Not only because she didn't get out often, but also because they were so rare.
She wouldn't only agree to analyze the man's weapon to satiate her own interest, but also to ensure she had bought herself the time she needed for the machinery on this level of the facility to be operational again. Her haki was still active, so she'd sense any attacks on her person coming from either of her visitors. Reaching down cautiously she grabbed the weapon by the handle and inspected the blade, but held it in such a way the edge was directed at the visitors the whole time, you could never be too safe. Examining the unique edge the weapon had, she made mental notes. Even the simplest things could inspire advanced creations. Next she inspected this spring loaded scythe blade mechanism. She had saw how the blade sprung out before, so she would position the weapon in a way that the blade would spring out away from her, just in case it flew out of the blade or something. Pressing the button, satisfyingly the scythe blade jutted out of the weapons handle. At this Jane's face adopted a thoughtful expression. "I suppose this can be an exchange between scientist, before we get to the climax of why you're here. Though I could keep your weapon and put the odds in my favor, I'd like to give you a chance. You've peaked my interest."
She pressed the button again like Cyrus had done before causing the blade to retract then squatted down and put the weapon on the floor in front of her and in between her and her visitors. She didn't roll it over to him yet though. "You might not have noticed them, but a few of these greeted you at the entrance." As previously stated the floor was littered with robots, some of which were Kawaiis. While squatted down, she reached over and grabbed one by its torso and set it on its feet. Its arms were rigid and stiff, but she forced them to extend out in front of it as if it were caring an offering to a Deity or carrying a dead body. She smiled at it, then grabbed Cyrus' sword by the handle and put it in the cradle that were the kawaii's extended arms. "It's not one of my first, but as you can see I have an abundance of them." They were scattered on the floor around them. As she spoke she wound up the crank in its back, her eyes focused on the crank as she turned it, then let it go.
Once she released the crank it'd begin its march forward, Cyrus' sword extended as an offering to him. "We can end the chit-chat and get on with this show though. I can imagine you're itching to avenge your loved ones." She smiled, not mockingly at Cyrus, but actually in a light hearted manner as she wanted to get this over with so she could get back to work. She wasn't all smiles of course. She could tell when she lifted the kawaii by the torso, that it had more weight than a traditional model. That's right, there were two models of kawaiis. This kawaii was a suicide bomber. Wound up and walking innocently towards Cyrus while the two scientist were sharing a moment, when he or perhaps his company would reach for his weapon, the bot would spring upwards head first at alarming speeds (T3) towards their leg. Should contact be made, the kawaii would explode, this explosion engulfing a 5m diameter and being potent enough to destroy steel. This being important as the bots were composed of scraps and for the most part that was iron and steel. If steel couldn't be blown through the explosion wouldn't be as potent as it had the potential to be, so for that reason it could. Titanium could be lightly damaged by a single explosion, however.
With this bot, haki wouldn't work to alert the victim of his impending doom since it wasn't coming from a being with a consciousness, but a robot. This was another reason Jane liked her bots. People thought once they learned haki all their problems were answered and they'd have the ability to perceive any incoming threats, but this one flaw was especially exploitable by someone with her talents. Adding insult to injury, though all the bots littering the floor weren't model 2 kawaiis, some were and the 5m diameter explosion would trigger, yet another, and another, and another explosion. This wouldn't only bump the potency of the explosions by a Tier (now T4), but it'd threaten about 15m of the 50m room (not sure if that's the size of the room). With a potentially 15m explosion centered on Cyrus and company, since Jane was 10m away, she'd be unharmed as the explosion would only travel 7.5m in her direction. Just as the explosion would go off, her previously mentioned bots would fire on the targets should evasive action had been taken and it was traceable. If not, they'd remain dormant until they did or could locate either of the targets, but only given Jane wouldn't be harmed also.
With Wayland's haki active he was aware of Bazel's location while his attack was launched on him that utilized the face. Now actually able to battle the young rookie, Wayland would show why he felt his fruit reigned supreme over most other fruits. "Both offense, defense, and mobility can be exercised with my Devil Fruit!" Skillfully he'd manipulate his gold on three fronts. One front being his immediate vicinity as perceived through his haki his previous attack didn't do Bazel in. Should you be a person viewing from the sky down upon the goldsmith or the ground up at the Demi-God, you'd see layers upon layers upon layers of what was once a ship of gold, being forged into a sphere of gold. It'd operate as a Tier 4 defensive skill and shield Wayland from the flaming predator that was above him before he would launch his assault at him or the ground below him rather. The shield was 15m in diameter, had no holes, but of course had a supply of oxygen. If you were viewing it from Bazel's position, you would see it had fancy engravings all throughout it in what seemed like an ancient language and in the center was the face of a bull. Even though he was blinded by the defense, his haki kept him aware of Bazel's location and when he was launching an attack on his person. This defense wasn't a response to Bazel's attack, but simply his presence.
The second front was being done before the shield was being formed and was the mobility he bragged about. Able to control gold in a telepathic fashion, he could support his own weight and use the gold to sail him around in the skies. This bed of gold as it was called, currently made it so he wasn't truly falling to the ground, but flying towards it in the spherical fortress he created for himself. It was shaped like a throne for a king and he sat in it comfortably as he piloted it. Could he see his surroundings? No he couldn't, but he could simply bulldoze through his surroundings, with the density he wrapped and packed his gaudy defense.
As for the third front. With a ship that shadowed even some of the mightiest Marine warships, the amounts of gold the Shichibukai had at his disposal was unrealistic and to approach him in such a way Bazel did was foolish. As stated, the whole ship had liquified, save for the previously mentioned gold Midas is said to be manipulating for mobility and defense. That means the whole vessel was falling and to move oneself within range of the goldsmith would mean to move to a location where gold was surrounding all but your back. Midas' haki allowed him to keenly keep track of Bazel's location despite, this has been said many times. Something else the Warlord was aware of was where the material that was most precious to him was at all times. It was practically an extension of his body and most Devil Fruit users who manipulated a substance that they couldn't generate themselves, had the aptitude to sense their substance out int he environment as well.
"Birdcage! In synch with the Supernova's own attack, fifteen masterfully crafted spears of gold protruded out of the liquified remains of the ship. Five would create an umbrella behind the Supernova's back trapping off his escape route to the sky, the space between the shaft's of the spears not being large enough for him to slip through. This would be mirrored in front of the Supernova as well with five spears. The remaining five would attack the rookie himself. One aimed for his head through his crown. Two for the soles of his feet through gruesomely to his shins, one at the center of his chest from below to dig into the ribcage as opposed to through it. Then the final one would only jut out after the Supernova responded to this primary assault. Should he have moved left or right to evade, this final spear would jut out and stab at his stomach accordingly. The Supernova's body placement being in the air, but parallel to the ground/his belly button directed to the ground and his spine to the sky. As for the origin of the attack, it would come from only 5m away. The falling gold from the ship being like a cylinder around the Supernova as he willingly flew into such a spot to better attack Wayland. Of course it wasn't a perfect cylinder, as this was natural free falling gold until Wayland seized control of it and attacked. The speed of the attack would be Tier 4 and it'd have the power to rend clean through steel, and partially pierce through titanium. When applied to Bazel's physicality the headshot could still be fatal as the youth himself was durable as Titanium, but it'd still be able to pierce the rookie's skull, albeit only partially. The skull cracks could still prove fatal should fragments injure the brain as a result of partial penetration.
Moving on, there was the crashing into the ground and the fireball. Even with the edge flames had over Gold, Midas would only find his golden defense being melted to nothingness from flames, but that wasn't all there was. The concussive force from the explosion alone blew him some ways away, maybe 15m and through the stone remains of a building that somehow withstood the explosion. There was also the heat, but he was tough and battle-hardened. 1st degree burns alone are what he suffered since his defense took the direct heat of the flames from the technique Bazel used. These burns were from the environment being a literal hot mess.
Along with Midas' defense, a fair majority of what was the gold of his ship was also melted to nothing. However, not until after his attack on Bazel. The Supernova's attack was fast indeed, but it had space to travel down to the ground, then back up if one were looking for it to incinerate the Warlord's assault.
For Bazel though he accounted for the fall's impact alone, he didn't take into account the fact a ship the size of two Man-of-Wars had fallen along with him. How could one imagine they'd be safe with such a gigantic object falling right before they had. Sure there were flames scouring the battlefield, but now there was basically a lake of gold as well.
Midas' haki still active, he would know where Bazel was though he was now about 25m away from him. "This rookie has more spunk than I initially credited him for." He imagined that his whole crew was dead, but as long as he had his gold he'd be alright. People were replaceable in this world, but precious gold was hard to come by and limited.
In the remains of a multiple story building on the second floor, Midas walked up to the hole his body had made when he was launched through it from the explosions force. Bazel was to his front, still 25m away from him. "Look around you! This is what i imagined hell would be like! However . . . I'm sure scum such as yourself wouldn't be blessed enough to even share the same air as me in such a realm." Gold puddles were splashed here in there, each puddle at least 10m in diameter, but no puddle being bigger than 25m or more than 5m away from another one. Flames also littered the area, these flames creating spaces where gold wasn't present, but to Wayland's contentment he saw there was more gold present than flames. He smile was big and cocky as he spoke. Also while he spoke he lifted one of his hands out in front of him. This gestured summoned gold from behind and underneath him. The building he was perched in began to collapse as the foundation was compromised due to gold from around and beneath its ruins shifted. Midas remained unharmed however as he stepped forward confidently and without a drop of worry. As he stepped forward out into thin air and golden platform about 5m in diameter and 1m thick was conjured up for him to step on. It looked like a large golden coin. Taking a second step onto the coin, the building fully collapsed, but his coin pulled forward a bit then up. As if he was truly too good for this world, not a single bit of that building touched him or his coin he levitated safely on. He wouldn't fall or stumble as the coin moved as there was gold melded around his legs to keep him stable. This gold was a bit flexible so he could bend his legs naturally to better his balance, but also sturdy enough to keep him on the coin while it moved at high speeds.
The movement of this coin would put Midas 22m horizontally away from Bazel and 20m vertically away. It would move at Tier 2 speeds, but was capable of much faster. "Show me your resolve rookie!"
