Having acquired information from the random drug dealer he had encountered on the street, Sever was ready to head down to the wealthier side of town where he might be able to ascertain exactly which house it was that this “Young Miss” was staying in. He wasn’t exactly sure of how much help she could be, but her living in an extravagant manor was a good indicator that she knew how to operate a successful business. Sever wasn’t positive of what relationship he might have with her, but he hoped that he wouldn’t be forced to become antagonistic with her regardless of her status. For now, Sever merely wanted to ascertain what kind of threat she might be and, if necessary, make his presence known to her. So with that in mind he continued walking, having a good idea of the general direction he was going, he moved forward without hesitation, his strides long and purposeful. He continued like this until he reached the edge of the slums, where he was able to see the market district in sight.

Sever picked up his pace a bit, and was just about to come out into a clearing of the buildings when suddenly three thugs popped out of an alleyway from the darkness. Quickly they moved to  surround him, and they didn’t look to be very friendly from their appearance. They were all rather muscular, but not overly so, just enough to overpower the weakest of the weak. Sever rolled his eyes at them as they looked menacingly towards him, obviously extremely confident in their victory. “Hey there, old man. You look like you’ve got some money on you, how bout you help us out a little?” The one in front of Sever asked, pulling out his pockets to reveal they were empty. The other two behind him chuckled, and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves quite thoroughly. Sever wasn’t too keen on being called an old man when he was only thirty four, and the sudden interruption from these men had quickly gotten on his nerves., As he stood, Sever had to question if it might be better to just draw his blade and be done with the nuisances. The world might certainly be better off without them, after all.

After a bit of deliberation, he decided to try and be the better man by exiting the confrontation. “I’m sorry, but I have neither money nor time for the likes of you.” Sever said, taking a step forward and attempting to brush past the man in front of him. Unfortunately, and expectedly, the man accosted him verbally before moving in. "Well fuck you too, old man." He said as he grabbed at Sever’s shoulder and turned him around, readying the man for a punch right to the face. Sever was obviously not going to take such an offense lightly, and he instantly brushed the man’s hand off his shoulder and performed the splits so that he was extremely low to the ground. From there, he pulled his blade from its sheath in the blink of an eye and thrusted it upwards at the man’s face. He would generally strike for the throat from this angle, but these fools weren’t worth the trouble, so he would merely send them home mangled and crying to their mothers. Perhaps this tale would prove as a deterrent from allowing others to attack the pale faced man in the suit.

So, with extreme precision he sliced upwards and across the man’s face, piercing through his upper lip and nearly splitting the man’s nose in half with the edge of his blade. Blood poured out instantly, and ran down the blade of the Ruhig Dorn, painting the cold steel a sanguine red. The cut wasn’t deep, but Sever imagined that it would be quite painful. Sever smiled as he watched the man’s shocked face turn into one of mixed fear, anger, and anguish. The man cried out in pain and staggered backwards, obviously not sure what exactly what had just happened. The emaciated thug staggered backwards and pointed at Sever. “Geb him vou buys!” He slurred through the blood pouring down his face. The two other thugs looked hesitant, obviously not having expected their target to be armed. Still, it seemed they had some sort of bond with the man, as they stepped forward to take Sever on despite their fears. Sever thought little of their loyalty however, and smirked as they approached. “Yes, why don’t you come get me?” Sever asked chuckling, taking a step forward and watching the two of them flinch.

“Look, I’ll even drop my sword.” Sever said, tossing it into the air towards the two men. The blade careened through the air slowly, arcing slowly and spiraling towards the two men. They both flinched once again as the blade fell in their direction, and in that moment Sever jumped at them and grabbed the hilt of his blade out of the air with deft and practiced hand movements. He smiled eerily before thrusting bringing the blade down hard onto one of the men’s shoulders, avoiding any vital arteries but still leaving a sizable gash in his flesh. The man screamed in pain, and the other had panicked and was starting to run away. Sever pulled back his sword, not wasting a moment, and with a twist of his fingers and a quick thrust of his palm to the pommel of his sword, he sent the blade sliding forward into the fleeing man’s thigh before he could gain any distance. The steel pierced his flesh without difficulty, and the man fell to the ground in a heap before grabbing at the wound in an attempt to stem the pain. Sever pulled the blade back out of the other man and thrust it into the thigh of the other still screaming man whom he had just cut in the shoulder, preventing any idea of escape from either of them.

The original victim of Sever’s assault watched all of this go down in a few seconds, and he started to run away with every ounce of speed he could muster. Sever could only chuckle at him as he watched yet another man stumble into the night after being struck by his blade. The bravado the man had shown earlier was obviously not backed up with any legitimate combat skill, and Sever was almost disappointed that the aggressors had been so easily dispatched. Sever was certainly being quite violent today, and he hoped that things would grow less exciting once he was able to establish some worthwhile business in this kingdom. He wasn’t much of a fan of violence and he generally preferred to have others do it for him, but he was usually capable of defending himself when necessary. Until he had established business here though, he’d have to be wary and sure to always carry his Ruhig Dorn when he went out by himself. It was troublesome not having subordinates to order around to do this kind of work for him, but Sever relented that he would just have to manage for now.
