How many islands out there actually bothered to celebrate this holiday? Hell it seemed as if the people who lived on this island pretty much all did the same thing. Kids would dress up as some famous martial artist that they wished to be like and go from town to town collecting treats. Some of the more unsavory ones would sit in the woods along the roads and try to scare people. Picking up their candy as they dropped it and were sent running for safety in some place. It was always pretty fun to watch these things happen. You could tell who would grow up to be the great fighters and who had a long way to go. Every now and then an interesting thing would occur where, some of the older kids. Attempting to scare or extort treats from the younger ones would actually lose the fight. Either not expecting somebody to actually fight back or underestimating the strength of their victims. However it was good to notice that this created some kind of strange cycle. Younger kids would learn the route was safe, since the wannabe pirates had been sent off, start piling onto it. Then some other group of degenerates would take the spot of the last ones, only to be eventually routed. After a few hours of staring at this Vincent eventually got bored of this and started to aimlessly wander towards one of the towns. Maybe if he was lucky he could find a bar that wouldn't have any issue selling him some liquors and sending him on his way. Still it would probably be better if he focused on where he was going. Maybe then he could have prevented himself from just getting lost in the middle of the forest, somehow off the trails of the wandering islanders.

Yet again, Linedwell found himself wandering aimlessly through a forest or wooded area under Mr. Miyagi's orders. Ever since he'd traveled to Karate Island he'd found himself jumping through hoops of some sort in attempts to grow stronger under Mr. Miyagi's tutelage. Even though he didn't regret his decision to seek this man out in order to learn all that he could from him, one thing he did regret was bringing up his experience from the day prior. Almost innocently, Linedwell had brought up the fact that he and another man had been attacked in the middle of the grassland while attempting to make his way back into town. Linedwell was no stranger to being randomly attacked, no matter what the circumstance - but he'd yet to be attacked by an assailant with no skin or organs. As weird as the situation was, Linedwell didn't take it as seriously as Mr. Miyagi seemed to take it...and now Linedwell had been sent out to find more of these "skeletons" around Karate Island. Though it didn't seem a big deal to Linedwell, it seemed that these skeletons had been springing up quite frequently around the island, causing lots of mischief and mayhem in the form of murders of random civilians.

It was now Linedwell's task to find and "kill" as many of these skeletal enemies as possible, and hopefully it'd be enough to keep some of these civilians alive. While Linedwell continued to walk he noticed another guy walking on the same path as him, about ten meters ahead. He'd never seen the man before, so he could only assume that this man was yet another civilian.

"Hey! You need to get out of here. It's not s-"

Linedwell stopped speaking as soon as he heard rustling behind him...and as soon as he turned around he was greeted by the sight of four skeletons standing about five meters behind him.

"Fuck..."

It seemed that Vincent had been dragged from his land of daydreams when he heard someone begin shouting, probably to get his attention. It only really stood out because for what felt like the past hour or so everything had been so quite around him. The loud noise caught entirely off guard and sent the young man into alertness. When he turned to face this person however his attention was immediately diverted to whatever was behind him. A couple of people dressed as skeletons stood behind him. In all it seemed like a set of four, holding swords and shields. From where Vincent was, it was really difficult to tell if they were holding real weapons or not. He had seen so many costumes tonight of people holding various weapons, so it was starting to get hard to tell which ones were fake and which ones were real until he managed to get close. Which to be honest, he really didn't want to get close to this without knowing before hand. There was really no reason for him to get involved in a situation that didn't involve him. Was that guy before trying to ask him for help? If so he seemed pretty preoccupied by this point, it was also possible that he could handle this. So now Vincent was stuck with decisions, stay and watch or keep on walking. However for some strange reason he found himself quickly moving towards the group of armored skeleton dressed gentlemen. Somewhere int he back of his head was the notion that if he walked away and the person in front of him lost, he would probably end up being hunted in some horror movie fashion.

Just as Linedwell had been searching for these skeletons, it appeared they'd been searching for him as well. The entire time he'd been making his way through this forest he hadn't thought of the possibility that he was being hunted. This was the only explanation that he could currently think of to explain the current situation. These skeletons had no reason to have simply showed up behind him in such a way - especially as silently as they'd done. If it wasn't for that simple misstep by one of them, it wouldn't have been likely that Linedwell would have even heard them before they struck.

Linedwell's grip on the hilt of his blade tightened as he kept his eyes on the enemies in front of him. He had first hand experience when it came to fighting these things, and even though he managed to take out two of them the night before, he'd yet to fight four of them. The only thing that Linedwell could come up with is that he'd need to maneuver in the same ways he'd done the previous night. These skeletons were extremely fast, as well as maneuverable. He couldn't afford to take them lightly at all. Within an instant, Linedwell had activated his Satori technique. His activation of this technique hadn't exactly been as refined compared to his other uses of it, but he couldn't afford the lapse in time that would have occurred had he needed to meditate in order to activate it.

In that same instance, it seemed the skeletons realized that Linedwell would soon go on the offensive. Two of the skeletons rushed Linedwell's position as quickly as possible, while another two leapt into the air while headed in Linedwell's direction. It appeared they wanted to push Linedwell into a corner by forcing him to focus on two separate factions instead of one force. By selecting a group to attack, it might have left him open and at the mercy of the second group. Honestly, it was a good idea...if Linedwell hadn't held the speed needed to deal with both groups.

Acting quickly, Linedwell propelled himself forward, his eyes trained on the group of enemies above him. With a quick unsheathing of his blade, Linedwell directed a horizontal slash in their direction with the use of his Tozume technique before sheathing his blade once more. Because of their placement in the air, they were in no position to move out of the way of the attack. Soon enough, the compressed blade of air made its impact and bisected the two skeletons, causing them to break apart. Though Linedwell had been able to deal with these opponents, he didn't exactly have enough time to throw another attack towards, and right now both skeletons held their blades above their heads and swung them downwards towards Linedwell's head. Acting quickly, Linedwell managed to unsheathe his blade about half way, creating an effective defense against the enemy swords that now clashed against it.

Well it seemed as if Vincent was correct to guess that this was without a doubt a situation hat he should have done his absolute best to avoid. However it was a tad bit too late, because he was pretty much already in the line of fire. Something that without a doubt did catch him off guard however was how prepared this person was for the fight. When he watched this guy produce a sword it seemed immediately that he might have had this all mixed up. Chances were that he didn't even need help, hell what if they were chasing him for a good reason. In the moments he was spending trying too figure out who he should side with, the decision was made for him. The four skeleton dressed gentlemen attacked their one target, and two of them while airborne were immediately cut down. Seemed he was without a doubt a skilled swordsmen, and one with alot of speed at that. From the looks of things he might have been even faster than Vincent. So it seemed that common sense would say to stay on the good side of the person that would be the most troublesome. When the last two struck down and had him pinned Vincent stepped within range and launched his attack. A swift diagonal kick would launch out a blast of air similar to that of the one Linedwell had just used to defend himself. Before the skeletons could reaction it would bisect both of them from the side, just barely avoiding connecting with Linedwell as well. However there were sadly no time for questions, for as soon as Vincent managed to get his foot on the ground two more seemed to appear from the darkness.

While Linedwell held the two skeletons at bay he attempted to think of some counterattack. At the moment the two paranormal opponents had Linedwell in an uncompromising position. If Linedwell were to give up his defense right now, no matter how fast he was he wouldn't be able to avoid whatever attacks they held in store. Yet, if he didn't give up his defense, it would take only one skeleton to back off from their attack. If this happened, Linedwell could be attacked while defending against the other skeleton. The only tactic that Linedwell could think of was to simply overpower them, but from their position above him this seemed to be almost impossible to do. Mr. Miyagi had always taunted him about not increasing his physical strength to the standards he wanted and simply focusing too much on speed, and right now it seemed Mr. Miyagi might have been correct.

Before any other tactics could be formulated thought, a strong gust of what appeared to be wind whooshed past Linedwell. Though it appeared to be wind to Linedwell, it seemed to be a lot more than that, as it held the power to destroy the skeletons that once pinned him down in almost an instant. Shooting a glance to his right, Linedwell realized that this attack came from none other than the man he tried to warn earlier. This turn around was quite ironic, so much so that Linedwell didn't even bother mentioning it. Yet, before Linedwell could give any form of thanks on the matter they were both greeted by two more skeletons. With a sigh, Linedwell dashed forward at full speed. He didn't want to give these two opponents any time whatsoever to grow into a threat bigger than they deserved to be. After closing two out of the three meters of distance between them, Linedwell made use of two techniques; Towaki and Sodome, killing the two skeletons almost as quickly as they'd appeared.

With the opponents downed, Linedwell quickly shook off his blade as if there was blood on it before sheathing it.

"Thanks for the help. I'll see you around."

Linedwell then made an about face turn and continued on his way. He'd been able to kill off a few skeletons, and now he needed to make sure there weren't any others left.

Well it would appear that his new friend had the next two covered as well. With a quick slash forward it would appear that the skeletons fell apart as if there was nothing holding them together. It would all be over almost as fast as it began. As if they were just using him to help finish their said they would see him around and headed on their way. What in the hell just happened, and why did it happen. Now that he thought about, these were not people. There was no blood and there was absolutely no muscle or groans of pain. It appeared that these were genuinely skeletons. Walking skeletons that for one reason or another, were hunting down this guy in the middle of nowhere. Now for some foolish reason Vincent had gone and put himself into the center of the situation. For all he knew he was about to be the one hunted, thy could decide to take him out instead of the one they had apparently been hunting all night. What a foolish thing he had just done, and as the unidentified person escaped from view he knew it was time to get moving himself. Best thing he could do for now was to somehow find his way back onto the path. If there was plenty of people around he could at least use them as some kind of diversion in case he was attacked. Taking one last look around, Vincent went on his way to find somewhere safe to stay for the night
