Wade happily snored as he slept in the barracks of Marine Base 17. No marines thought to look for him in the barracks, not even Marine Captain Lucius. Though he regularly did not put off his job, today was different. There was no activity today. Not in the slightest. Not even a simple thief was seen today. It was very rare to have a peaceful day like this, so Wade happily took advantage. He, of course, was wearing his stereotypical attire, white vest, black undershirt, black slacks, black shoes, and tophat (the tophat itself was covering his eyes). His cane sat the bed next to him, laying lifeless on the bed. There was a great risk to slacking off, however, especially under Captain Lucius. Lucius is known for doing ironic and bizarre punishments, more too strange to even name. Lucius himself is a rather strange man. He is about seven feet in height, and is rather chubby. He has a mustache and beard, both being blonde, and he tends to wear his Marine coat inside out. Many rumors float around him too, but Wade paid little attention to them. He was too tired to care at this point and let out a loud snore, followed by a clearing of the throat. Wade didn't stir again until a few good minutes later, where there was a small rumble he felt. The occult man simply turned to his side, cuddling his cane as if it were a teddy bear of some sort. He soon woke up, however, as the sound of several explosions were heard. Blinking and shaking his head to wake himself up, he quickly grabbed his cane and ran out the barracks, now in the halls of the base.

He ran down them, the sounds of combat growing more and more evident as he neared the front entrance of the compound. It was there he passed by two comrades. One had a gunshot wound on his left shoulder, with the blood staining his white uniform. The other man seemed to be treating it. Wade bent down on his knees in a vain attempt to be at their level before speaking. “What's happenin' out there?!?” He said with clear concern, eyeing the gunshot wound. The injured Marine looked up at the giant man, his face straining with pain as he spoke. “We're being invaded by pirates. Captain Lucius and the enemy captain are somewhere else fighting...” He said before letting out a hiss. The Marine treating him had just now used alcohol on the wound. Wade simply nodded at the young man and quickly made his way outside to the battleground. Base 17 was on a rather rocky island. There was a small town nearby, possibly five to six miles away, that came to the base for help. That being said, the area around Base 17 was almost nothing except flat, rocky ground, making it perfect for a medium-scale battle. Which is exactly what was happening. Men in white were firing muskets and pistols and sword fighting against dirty-looking scoundrels. His eyes narrowing and adrenaline pumping through his veins, Wade ran out, straight into the fray.

Almost immediately three pirates swarmed him, each holding a rusty cutlass and each swiping and slashing at the giant man. Wade, however, was more skilled and jumped back, out of the range of their swords and, using his long leg, did a roundhouse kick upon them, knocking the much smaller men away and seemingly knocking them out. He then proceeds to reach for one of the cutlass (which were more so like an overgrown dagger in comparison to him) and threw it as a nearby pirate clashing with a fellow Marine, stabbing him in the back. With four down, Wade scanned for any bigger threats. And there were. The threats had taken the form a bald man with various kanji on his face, attacking and killing with a good quality cutlass, and the form of a giant man, only an inch taller than Wade himself, punching and beating any unlucky Marines half to death. Seeing them as the prime threat, Wade ran straight towards them, but was blocked off by two more grunts. One was armed with a rifle and the other had nothing and foolishly tried to rush Wade as the other took aim. Wade promptly kicked the melee man in the face, disorienting him, before picking him up by the shirt, using him as a shield as the other pirate fired. After the shot, Wade threw the dead pirate at the gun-totting one, knocking him down. Wade again ran towards the duo and used Soru to launch himself at the taller man, who did not manage to react in time. Using the built up speed from the Soru, Wade extend his arm and grabbed the big man's face, the speed forcing him down with great force. Taking advantage of the disorientation caused by such a strike, Wade straddled him and put him into a head lock, tightning his arms around the man's neck before flexing his body, breaking it and killing the man.

The swordsman, having processed what just happened, lunged at Wade with the furiosity of tiger, sword ready to cleave his head in half, roaring. Wade managed to react quickly, however and without even turning around, he hardened his skin by use of Tekkai to defend himself. It worked, luckily, denting the cutlass greatly in to the point that it was almost useless. The swordsman had to take a step back, looking at what became of his once mighty sword. Wade, taking advantage of it, turned around and used Soru, managing to quickly bear-hug them man and restrain him. He then did something unexpected. He jumped into the air and, by the use of Geppo, went higher and higher into the hair. Once they were about a good 40-50 feet in the open air, Wade let go of the swordsman, allowing him to fall to his death. After managed to get back on the ground, he looked around most pirates were either dead or restrained for imprisonment. In the distance, he can see someone on the Den Den Mushi, talking as if stressed, to someone. It only took a mere 5 seconds for his voice to change and to yell out “Captain Lucius won!”, causing all the Marines who survived to cheer in victory. Wade, not one for loudness, only smiled, as a great battle was won today.
