Gerard gave a small, content murmur as his eyes slowly cracked open, the light filtering in through the window of Gerard and Valentine's room. Last night had been on hell of a celebration. Boris' cooking had been amazing, enjoyed by everyone (with the possible exception of Datara who took his food to eat elsewhere), and then afterwards, well, considering he was laying in bed with his fiance showed that the night was a complete.

The Dandyman smiled warmly as he looked down at his beautiful fiance. Everything had just been going so well for them, ever since they met. Here they were, on the Grand Line, having built up a rather nice crew, and they had bounties! Rather sizable ones at that. He glanced over where the wanted posters had been pinned to the wall. He would get them framed someday, though after the incident at the bar, he was sure their bounties would only grow further.

Gerard gave a happy sigh as he nestled against her. He had never felt more comfortable.

And then there was a loud explosion outside.

It wasn't close, but a decent enough distance that Gerard could hear it clearly. Gerard's eyes opened, and a now annoyed look crossed over his face. "This had better be good,"Gerard muttered, irritated that his alone time with his fiance had been spoiled.

Her eyes glinting in the sunshine that peeked through the windows. The last night had been amazing if she would have to say anything about it, everything was just like she planned for it to be. She had also been taught the basics of the Black Leg Style but now she just needed moves to cope with it. The only thing that Boris taught her was the Mouton Shot after all, which was one powerful move but she needed other ones too. As she saw Gerard get out of bed and out of the bedroom she sighed slightly to herself before hearing several explosions, upon which she sat up, got dressed with everything from gas mask to black hat and hoodie.

She walked outside to be greeted by screams of the crew trying to rally everyone up as when looking over the horizon one could see ... war?! Or at least a battle being fought between the two warring factions on the island, if they got any closer they would have to dispatch them out of their safe space. "Gerard, we gotta keep the ship safe!" she yelled before rushing to the side of the boat before being stopped by her newly recruited swordsman that appeared out of nowhere sitting on the railing of the ship. "They haven't done anything yet, if they come sure,
but for right now we don't have anything to go off as why we could take them down..." he said as he stopped for a brief pause to drink some tea that he had brought. "Well, its keeping the ship safe and some training for us, I gotta learn that style after all!" she said with quite the happy expression on her face before jumping down to the coast to prepare herself.

Gerard quickly dressed himself and stepped out onto the main deck. Just outside of the port, the town was going up in flames. There were shouts and screams, and gunfire going off, as well as explosions. Alisa was on deck, watching the fighting. "It seems they've picked today to have a skirmish in the town," Alisa explained, "They haven't spilled onto the docks yet, but with a ship like this, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to take it as a prize."

Gerard nodded, and Valentine seemed to have the same idea on protecting the ship, as she lept over the side onto the docks. "Alright. Me and Valentine will try to keep them away from here. But if anybody does get through, put a bolt through them." Alisa smiled and nodded, holding up the steel case which also acted as her weapon. With his assurance that the ship would be safe, Gerard lept off of the Grand Steamer to join his beloved.

The town was in complete pandemonium. Soldiers on either side were fighting, shooting, and blowing eachother up. Any citizens not fighting were trying to avoid the carnage like crazy, though it was painfully clear some of them had gotten caught in the crossfire. They hadn't noticed the two lovers yet, but that was about to change. "Once this is over, we should leave the island. I doubt we'd be welcome here for a while," he explained to her, before smiling and gesturing to the fighting. "So, ladies first?"

As she giggled a bit before looking over towards the fight she promptly said towards Gerard "Thanks honey! Lets go!" before charging towards the fight before turning her head towards the ship as they started to leave for the fight. "HEEEEEY, YOU GUUUYS, PROTECT THE SHIP IF THEY GET CLOSE IF WE MISS ANY!". She quickly saw the chef and the swordsman give her a thumbs up before they disappeared inside again. They probably had things to care for, like food and training or something. As they kept running towards the fighting Valentine started to realize that she has no idea what this war even is about. "Hey Gerard, what is this thing even about? What are they fighting for?" she said towards her husband before realizing that she has known this before, or at least she thinks she has at least.

They got closer towards the battle before a few of the combatants stopped and looked towards them instead, charging towards them to show that outsiders aren't welcome, 10 of which had swords and the other 10 had rifles and such. As a few of them got closer to her she started to kick them in their necks and stomachs using her new style as she needed to practice with it. Before she knew it a few of them had their guns sighted towards her and was starting to close in to her before she realized that maybe she could try the technique of Sky Walk, to run in the air and get an advantage of these fools, so she jumped up before trying to run in the air and she succeeded, she thought of escape and got it. Boris had been wise to teach her all of the fundamentals before actually showing her everything giving her a grasp of how to perform the abilities and skills of the style, and before anyone knew the word of it she started spinning in the air before her heel crushed into the skull of one of them before she jumped up from the persons head and onto the ground again, and once she did the people surrounding her started to back off.

"I'll be honest with you dear, I have no idea what these guys are fighting for. Apparently this war has been going on for so long, with so many different factions." Indeed it was almost a mystery why these guys were fighting, or when this war even started. Sure, he could ask around and see what was going on, but to be hones the really didn't care enough about it. All that mattered right now was that they had to make sure these guys didn't get any bright ideas of trying to take their ship.

Valentine was getting into the thick of things, attacking some of the soldiers and drawing their attention already. But Gerard wasn't going to let her fight alone. Letting loose a burst of gas, he launched himself at a couple of the swordsman, delivering a flying kick to one and knocking his ass flat. The others turned their attention towards him, especially since Valentine was now running into the air! Pretty impressing really. With their first target gone, they decided to go after the man on the ground, and one of them lashed out at him with his sword.

Gerard merely chuckled as the blade passed right through him, his logia powers kicking into effect. "Sorry boys. Afraid that wont work on me." He held out his cane and let out a stream of flames, sending some of the swordsman screaming.

Skills:

"Ough, you guys are annoying" she said as they got closer and closer, shaking in their boots and having sweat run down from their foreheads. They seemed to be scared of the power that she had shown just mere moments earlier, along with her partners... "special" powers of controlling and manipulating gas. Seeing him dash around made her realize that she needed a great technique that allowed her to be as fast as she could possibly imagine. "Hey hubby, how fast was I whilst I was doing that thing? The running thing, could you see me?" she said towards her partner, completely ignoring the soldiers around her. Before she knew it they charged towards her and tried slashing her in the back, but right as they attempted it her eyes dazzled before she dodged it by jumping forward onto a handstand before pushing herself upwards using her hands and landing on her feet.

"The color of observation as many call it, it's quite useful..." she said as she snapped her neck to make quite the sound before doing it with her knuckles as well before turning to the men and sky walked up above them with a single dash. She then started kicking down towards them as if she was gattling kicks at them. They were falling to the ground one after the other, feeling the pain that she brought using her monstrous strength that she carried in her whole body, but now especially her legs. She kicked and kicked and when she realized she had taken care of about 10 soldiers she jumped backwards to fall on to her feet again. "I really love this fighting style... How's it going for you honey?" she said keeping an eye on the enemies. Her stamina wasn't the best at the moment and thus she started feeling weaker and considerably more tired than before, she couldn't keep this up for long.

Skills used:

"How fast? I'd say you going pretty fast my dear, a blur." Gerard was taking his time to duck and dodged the swordsman trying to take a swing at him. Seriously, why would they even bother? Even if they were able to hit him, Gerard had his logia powers to fallback on. He was really only dodging as practise.

"You'd think soldiers that had been fighting a constant war would be a bit more challenging. I'm a little disappointed." Sure, they were more doing this to protect their ship, but he would have expected more of a fight from these guys.

Getting a little annoyed with these sub par swordsmen, Gerard let out a burst of compressed air around him, sending them all sprawling. He eyed the gunners, who were turning their attention onto Valentine. Even with her speed, Gerard wasn't sure if she could dodge or turn while running through the air, and decided not to take any chances. Drawing his cane, he fired three shots at three of them, bringing them down.

Valentine looked around for more opponents, it was quite hard for her to get sustained training right now when the two forces actually was determined to take each other out and there was only a few who was after them and their ship after all. She also started getting tired, her muscles started getting weaker, her speed and strength going down. She needed to rest for a bit, she needed to think of a more efficient way to actually use this style, because as of now it didn't work for her favor. It ripped her stamina apart for every minute it was used, she needed lower ability techniques. Maybe just a simple kick to someones shoulder? To put them off balance? Or a kick that grips their stomache before shooting them outwards? She needed more techniques to use.

She ran towards the boat in an albeit slower pace before yelling out to Gerard as she ran to be around 50 meters out of the boat where she couldn't see any enemies. "I just gotta rest a bit honey! Beat them to a pulp!" she said as she saw that people went for her, but before they could get any closer two people appeared in front of her, or well surrounding her, one with a sword and the other with a cigarette in his mouth. "One step closer you stupid apes and you'll be my next culinary masterpiece..." Boris said as he took a hit of his cigarette before blowing out smoke upwards in the air, allowing for Valentine to rest.

Gerard could see that Valentine was starting to tire herself out. Too much to quickly wasn't good for you. Gerard had learned about conserving one's own stamina. As such, he was fairing much better in the fight. As she began to withdraw, calling out to him, he waved back at her. "Will do dear. If I finish up before you're done, I'll get you something nice!" He saw a couple of soldiers moving to pursue, and brought up his cane to fire on them, only for a bullet to shoot harmlessly through his head.

Gerard slowly turned to see the hapless gunman, only now realizing his mistake. "Now that's just rude!" He shot forward, driving his cane into the man's sternum before delivering an uppercut to the man's jaw. The soldier dropped like a stone as Gerard turned to see more soldiers approaching. It seems that their little training session was starting to get more attention than Gerard would have liked. "Well, as long as their attention is on me and not on the ship," Gerard murmured as he let loose a burst of toxic gas, causing the approaching swordsman to stop in their tracks as they coughed and spluttered.

"Alright Boris, Tosh, let me forth. I feel a lot better now..." she said after about 15 minutes of rest, raising herself from the ground. As she put herself up again she saw a few men approaching the trio. "I'll take care of these guys alright?" she said as Boris and Tosh looked back towards her, then disappeared up on the boat before walking inside again. The men charged towards her and with a flurry of kicks they were getting downed one by one. A kick to someones shoulder there and a kick to someones stomach there. After five of them was downed the two left just looked at her in awe and tried to escape. As they ran and ran they lost sight of her. "WHERE IS SHE?!" one of the men screamed before a shadow of her engulfed them. When they looked above they saw her, walking across the sky.

As she fell down she kicked both of them down to the ground making a small crater for their face to adjust themselves to. "Hey, Gerard... I'm starting to come back, how is it going for you over there?!" she screamed across the battlefield of the frozen tundra, both of the sides of the warring factions was still at it, clashing and shooting each other, cannon shots was heard in the background as explosions could be seen everywhere. The smell of gunpowder and blood filled the air. Cannon shots was fired towards the mighty ship of theirs but before she could react Tosh appeared in front of them and sliced them before they got to the ship, making a cluster of explosions before the ship.

This had turned a lot more towards becoming training instead of defending now that they had Tosh and Boris that defended the ship.

The fight had been carrying on relatively well since Valentine quickly ducked out. With the soldiers lacking anything resembling haki, Gerard had been relatively save. Though he did expend quite a bit of energy ducking and dodging, just to be on the safe side. That bounty hunter the other day had caught him by surprise. He didn't want to risk getting a sword through his stomach from a surprise haki user.

As a number of the soldiers were still gasping in the venomous mist, Gerard moved back and let loose a burst of flame, causing the gas to ignite and send men flying. It really wasn't that much different to the other explosions going on around them, so it really wasn't an issue. Gerard did have some pride in the fact that he was keeping the men clear of the docks. After his little explosion, he fell back on simple strikes, both with his fists and his cane. No sense in burning himself out when he was the only one out here.

Thankfully, it wasn't long before Valentine returned to the field. "Everything's going well over here darling. How are you feeling? Did you take care of those clowns following yo-" He was cut off by a loud 'boom' and a cannonball shot through him, hitting the building behind him. Gerard turned to the nearby cannon, its crew staring at him dumbfounded. "Ok, seriously? Who thought a cannon was a good idea!?"

"I'm quite alright honey! I took care of it!" she said as she kicked a few soldiers trying to reach for her from all types of directions, all around her as well as a few that charged and jumped towards her, it started to become quite annoying how many of them could flock her at once to then be defeated a moment later. She didn't really want this thing to continue on for an infinite amount of time after all, they all had limits. As she looked back she saw that the ship was safe as a crowd of soldiers had put themselves to watch it since they were scared in their boots by the skill that Tosh and Boris had displayed which made her more glad than anything.

Then she saw it, a huge man that was seemingly super strong, he seemed durable as well but speed was probably not that things... priority so to speak. That thing has a huge, gray beard and had runes almost cut into its skin as if it was some sort of nordic legend. It was in the end of the battlefield, it was probably standing at around 30 meters tall and really bulky but still muscular. It had two cannons mounted on its shoulders too with a man behind each one of them, and then she realized it, she might not be able to fight this thing, roaring and waddling through the crowd as if it's hunting them. Then she started to understand, that she got Gerard, both of them together could probably smash this thing to pieces after awhile. "Gerard! Help me take out that monster...!" she said as she ran and kicked around in the crowd to get towards it without waiting for her partner as if she had thought that he would understand and tag along, and if nothing else this was going to be one hell of a fight alone.

She didn't want to drag it out either, she NEEDED to finish this thing fast, cause otherwise it's unchallenged stamina was going to drag it out for her, defeating her in the process, plus her new style might not be much worth in helping to defeat that thing as she's really uncertain of its maximum power as of yet, but if nothing else this thing would fall under their names!

Gerard opened fire on the cannon crew who had the audacity to shoot him with a cannon! Both men went down relatively quickly, leaving the cannon unattended. But Gerard wasn't going to simply leave it for others to use. He got in close and with a burst of air knocked the weapon onto its side. That should render the thing useless.

Then he heard Valentine shouting to him and he looked over to see what she was pointing at. The thing was huge! And carrying two cannons to boot. Bringing that monster down would definitely get the armies to back off and leave them in peace. "On it dear!" he called out' dashing through the crowd towards it. Thankfully his logia abilities allowed to simply run through the crowd like they were nothing, closing in rather quickly. The big monster man saw him approach, and with a roar lumbered towards him, cannons at the ready.

"Hold your breath!"

Suddenly, all the air around him vanished, leaving nothing but a vacuum surrounding​ him, the hulking soldier, and a number of unfortunate soldiers caught in it. As the soldiers began to fall down gasping for air, Gerard brought up his cane and fired two shots right into the big guy. It wouldn't do much to the big guy, but it would draw his fire while Valentine got close enough to really do some damage.

As she saw people losing their breathes before she heard her man she started getting worried about if they would truly be able to beat this thing, which they would hopefully do. As she kicked  through the crowds she got closer and closer to the beast before hearing it, to hold her breath! She quickly did before thinking through her assault. As she thought of her assault and the whole scenario going through her head she started to realize it, her strength might actually be competing against this things, if hers wasn't even better. She quickly jumped up and then started to walk in the sky like before.

As she got further and further up she quickly got dragged up by something, either it was Gerard or it was something else as she couldn't see it but then she felt it, the talons that took a grip on both of her shoulders before dropping her right above the monstrosity which made her understand that Harold actually delivered for once, and seeing as she acquired him yesterday that's pretty good if one was to say anything. As she charged downwards towards the man, or should I say thing, she started spinning faster and faster before her leg actually got a glow to it, a red fiery glow as if it had been from the underworld itself! As she spun and spun she went down faster than expected quickly clashing with the beasts face as it looked up to greet her.

Hearing the cracking of the skull as she burrowed down into his skull she quickly kicked off of the skull of the huge monstrosity before flying backwards doing several backflips and such before landing gracefully as if she was an acrobat. "Sorry love, gotta go!" she said as she screamed towards Gerard signalling them to get out of this place, her strength seemed to be on par with something that isn't human which she wasn't going to say against.

As Valentine got on the boat she could spot Harold in the sky, flying down towards the ship again and laying down on the main deck before she walked towards the railing of the boat as she screamed towards her companions on shore still. "Tosh and Boris, get on, we are getting out of here!" she yelled as they came up in the blink of an eye, it was time to get out of this warring island.
