What do you mean you don’t have the order?! Being a part of this trade coalition means paying your share. For the lot of you that means you ship out food!” Picking up one of the no more than a dozen crates he jostles in demonstration of how light it is. “You didn’t even fill them!” Throwing the crate to the ground it broke scattering about produce that was lack luster. A breeze swept through the air. The air wasn’t fresh as one would expect of under developed area near the sea. Something about it was smelled manufactured almost toxic, yet sweet.

From the bow of the ship Aloeus watched what had transpired from the bow of the merchant’s ship. Despite a deal that still was incomplete he noticed that there were a few other crates that were making their way one and off the ship. The dwarf would jump down from the ship and make his way to where the pair were settling things.  The merchant was middle aged brawny, tan, and bald. He had obviously been in his profession for years, probably started in his youth. He easily towered over his counterpart who’s skin had was freckled from the sun but was not longer tanned. He had a good ten years on the merchant and although he was old his strong hands suggested that he didn’t shy away from work.

Picking up a piece of corn Aloeus regarded it carefully, even taking off a glove to feel its husk. Above him the conversation continued. “Don’t worry Tucker, the boys and I will still stay the night. For a discount rate that is,” the merchant smirked toothily as he plucked a third of the bills from a stack. Dropping down the greater of the amounts while walking away he cheekily stated “That is for the rooms, no one would want actually eat here. Signaling to his counterparts they would pick up the rest of the food crates leaving behind the one that was broken.   The bills would rain down some of landed near Aloeus.

Humbly the one called Tucker would thank the man for his patronage. Then he would begin picking up the food first.  He would notice Aloeus immediately as he reached to pick up the corn that the dwarf held. This has been prematurely picked, it had plenty of nutrients. But it is oxygen starved? “That guy is piece of work but what is up the shitty produce?”

Shocked at what he saw before him even more the dwarf spoke Tucker stumbled over. “A D-D-Dwarf!”

“Aloeus,” he responded without a hint animosity.
It took a moment for Tucker to realize that an introduction was being extended to him. Regaining his composure he extended a hand to Aloeus. “I’m Tucker, no actually its Sam, Tucker is my family name.  Behind Sam Aloeus could see four building adorned with Tucker name a hotel, restaurant, clinic, and general store. All within shouting distance.

Gardening dangerous work:

Where there should have been many fields of green with dotted of many colors there was a field of undesirable plants. The land had looked like it was in the middle of a plague. Not every field was as bad as the rest. The fields had been scourged in sections, with the ones closer to the first being the most heavily picked. Further in, closer to the homes and town, were the healthiest of the plants but some had been over picked and others prematurely. The produce they were shipping out was from further out. They are saving the best of what they have. “What good are the supplies provided if your suffering from hunger…” Flying above the field gave him better perspective, at 20 ft above everything he could see even see the bones of animals and people tossed about like litter. The herbivores were being driven out of the forest so their predators were following them and hunting and feeding on them here.

The stiff breeze didn’t do anything about the stifling humidity. Sweat had started to run down Aloeus chest causing him to glisten in the setting sun.  I need to separate the herd first, they will be at the advantage if this carries on til dark. At the woods edge were a pack of wild boars the young in a loose circle around their alpha. A nasty looking brute was he, bigger than the rest aged, but not ready for some put to take his place.

Scanning the ground for he would float down and pick up a rock not much larger than a plum. Flying back into the air he would throw the rock at an angle to the left of where the boars were, to gauge their response.

With sudden surprise of the rock landing near them the skittish boars were on their feat forming a close circle around their matriarch. They wouldn’t be scattered so easily. SQQUUEEK! The loud and wretched sound of one of the animals in formation as the boar they guarded leaned in swinging a tusk armed snout at its leg. All the boars tensed at stepped forward insuring they weren’t too close and out of her immediate range.

“I just have to be the one to fight you Ms. Piggy!” Flying at the boars from the same side as the boar that had been hit he would take Aloes’ charge head on literally. Pushing back against the dwarf’s tiny fist he hold for just a moment as his prior sustained injury. Wincing in pain as it let out a squeal the boars surrounding him. A fearsome fly surrounded by furry tanks. Lift the boar by it snout off the ground the matriarch was now on her feet still glued to her spot but full focused on the enemy in front of her. The air quickly became a dirt cloud as two of the boars kicked up the loose dry dirt with the intention to blind Aloes. Even with his perception this would prove an affective tactic for the boars. Locating him by sound and smell the world around him goes dark and air rancid and humid. Jaws were closing in down. “That is hella foul what actual fuck!” With a powerful uppercut, the roof of the animal’s mouth was broken. Opening it mouth Aloe would fly out as it fell. Clenching his fist, he knew he had over did it but found justification and soles that what the boar did wasn’t cool either.

The air was still hazy when departed the boars mouth but for the most part the dirt had settled. Turning round the dwarf moved to take the queen. But she hadn’t waited she was already barreling towards whatever was in her way be dammed it was up to them to move. And the boars did, parting on either side she collided into Aloe sending flailing in the air towards the ground. At just about a thousand pounds Ms. Piggy among the heaviest opponents he had faced.

The boar by no means was quick it had pretty good senses it could rely on but if Aloeus wished he could avoid the attack all day. Each time to clashed the boar would only attack up until a certain distance before backing up to it’s original position as it betas would take her place. She was protecting something. “You’re a mother!” Taking his sumo stance, just inside the line the mother’s protective ring he rushes forth. Aloeus jumps up flipping above the boars head flipping into a Tail Hammer smashing his tail into the boards head. This would not be enough to drive such a strong individual underneath the ground. As the boar tipped forward Aloe would run along it back grabbing the boar’s tail. Stunned by the pain the boar’s legs would buckle and it she tipped forward, tossing her head and weight back Aloeus would use this to his advantage. Pulling down on the boars tail the momentum would carry into an over head throw. Slamming to the ground that was it, ding ding.

He looked to the rest of the boars who were in the middle of deciding what they should do. Point to the piglets each began to be swallowed up in earthern spheres. Taking to the sky piglets in tow he journeyed into the woods.
