Linda Savage

Linda sighs deeply as she looks to the horizon from the bow of the ship known as Leviathan. She feels slightly uncomfortable though she’s unsure if that’s due to being on a boat for the first time in years or having her arm in a splint. Either way, the discomfort doesn’t make its way onto her face. She feels no pain from the injuries sustained in some freak accident at some bar. She actually had almost forgotten how she ended up with a broken arm and a twisted ankle - the latter has healed splendidly since then. She had no doubt that she would have no recollection of the incident in the next two days and that her mind would supply a logical reason for her left arm current state. That or she would shrug her shoulders and not question how one of her arms ended up in a splint. It wasn’t like the arm was vital to her day to day function. Just super convenient.

It was to bad that she wouldn’t be able to down a bottle of rum or scotch for the next couple days though. She would be trapped on a ship with minors and she doubt they would waste space on a supply of alcoholic beverages they couldn’t touch. She needed to be sober when the docked at Las Camp anyways. It would take a couple days to reach the island since they were in a different blue but she could use that time to do something a little more useful… like practice. She was rusty and she knew that. Practicing on the ship would only do so much, but it would be enough to stretch out her limbs and get her mind back into the correct… well… mindset.

As for the group she was travelling with… well… she wasn’t sure what they would be doing whilst they made their way to the West Blue. She had only met them two, maybe three days ago and that was entirely by chance. A bunch of marines had been called into the office but by some miracle she ended up with half of the adolescent. And remembered that meeting like it was yesterday…

Genève Artois

Genève looks odd in the room full of marines dressed in marine issued uniforms. The child-like noble is aware that she stands out in the crowd not only due to her short stature, but also because of the casual outfit she had decided to wear this particular morning. If she had known she was going to be summoned, she would’ve appeared in the same uniform as just about everyone else. Yet she hadn’t and so she was stuck looking like she belonged at a ball instead of a meeting amongst marines. However, she was lucky that she wasn’t the only one not properly dressed for the occasion. She was also lucky that the commanding officer didn’t seem to pay any mind to those improperly dressed.

Instead, the man simply stood on the stage before her with his hands behind his back. He was probably waiting for the rest of the marines to finish pouring into the room before beginning to explain why the meeting had been called. She had a feeling that this meeting would be quick and to the point, allowing no time for questions to be asked or answered and she was fine with that. The sooner the trio got out the happier she would be for tonight they planned on setting sail rather or not they found Linda. Though, it would seem that scouring the island for the marine would be unnecessary since said marine would end up on the same squad as them. Alas, Genève didn’t know that, but she would be pleasantly surprised… or maybe a little perturbed to suddenly have her group thrown with three random souls.

Oka Takanashi

Oka wasn’t the biggest fan of meetings that involved more than five people, but she also wasn’t the sort of person to disobey direct orders. So, though she wasn’t pleased about being summoned, the princess had walked into the hall accompanied by her friends - lady-in-waiting Genève and royal knight D’Angelo. Though, if one were to look at those in attendance they would believe that not everyone got the memo. And that person would be correct seeing as how the meeting was called out of the blue and no one had been prepared. So, Oka, Genève and several others had shown up in their casual clothes. Slightly inappropriate, but the commanding officer didn’t seem to mind at all. He actually looked equally displeased at being there as everyone else and so, the princess didn’t need Genève to tell her that the meeting would be quick.

It worked in her favour since she only had until the clock struck nineteen hundred before the trio set sail from some other island as promised. And Oka really wished to find and convince Linda to tag along before then. So, the sooner this was done, the sooner she could begin the search for the elusive marine. Luckily for her, searching for Linda would be unnecessary since the woman was in the room with the trio. And as fate would have it, the group from Lvneel would find themselves on the same team as Linda and two other marines. This no doubt made Genève uncomfortable, but Oka didn’t mind. After all, it just meant that she had more friends.

Loki Natsuki

Loki was just stepping through the doorway and into a slightly crowded room that was filled by mostly men wearing marine uniforms. Loki was off duty at that particular moment so he was dressed in a t-shirt, shorts and shoes so he stuck out a bit in the crowd. He was relieved to see that he wasn't the only person not wearing their uniform as he spied a few younger boys and girls amongst the crowd. Not that they were too hard to spot with their outfits clashing against the standard white and blue that filled the room. Loki had received orders that he was to set sail for another blue, but first he had to be present for this meeting. The commanding officer who stood a few feet higher than everybody else thanks to the stage like platform he was standing on. Loki wasn't quite sure what exactly he was going to another blue for yet and was ready to assume that this guy up in front didn't have a good reason either. Loki was already one hundred percent confident he was never going to be given a good reason after he was a simple marine and all he had to do was follow orders.

It was a certainly a dull life, following orders just because some guy was told to tell a different guy who had to tell your superiors to tell you what to do and how to do it. Hell sometimes the orders would get all jumbled between the fifteen ranks it traveled through. Needless to say it was a job in the end and it paid decently. Enough to fuel Loki's habits. Being part of a military wasn't so bad either. Sometimes saving people made him feel all warm and tingly inside, like he was doing something right in life.

D'Angelo Clover

D'Angelo was used to being summoned abruptly for meetings, and had seen larger groups back in Lvneel. The Lvneel Knight however still wasn't happy about being in such a cramped room with this many people. He followed behind Oka and Genève allowing them to lead the way into the meeting. A single man stood at the front of the room. It was obvious to the teen that this man was the proceeding officer.

Instead of looking at the Commanding Officer, D'Angelo began to scan the room. He wanted to see just who exactly was there. Squads were being formed during this meeting and D'Angelo wanted to know who the trio may be paired with. It was funny just how many people had come in casual clothe. Obviously he was a part of that group of individuals. Although D'Angelo never wore or planned on wearing the standard Marine uniform.

While scanning the room he noticed a few people who piqued his interest. Not being able to gauge who they were he decided to just wait. It would've been bad if he assumed that they would be in a squad together; only for them not to be. D'Angelo turned his attention back to Genève who he knew was extremely uncomfortable in this crowd. He placed his hand on the head of the doll looking girl.

He spoke no words, but hoped the hand would calm any anxiety. D'Angelo wasn't worried about how Oka was handling the group, because he knew she liked meeting new people. Having completed his "checklist" D'Angelo turned his attention back to the Marine at the podium.

Linda Savage

Linda graces whatever hall the big meeting was being held at in a timely manner. This is to say that the alcoholic marine is neither late or on time. She was a little out of it thanks to the numerous drugs the doctor had prescribed and the nurses happily administered to her but she was aware enough to listen. Listening would be pretty important since she had no clue what the meeting was about and she like to avoid having her superior repeat himself. He already looked displeased at being there. There was absolutely no need to give the man something to point that displeasure towards.

She listened as the man before the group announced that he would be splitting the present marines into groups based upon information gathered during their service. Some of them would be remaining on the island whilst others would be sent throughout the blues in an attempt to increase the marines presence in the blues. It took the man all of five minutes to announce this but that didn’t mean Linda could return to the medical ward. Oh no. She was still to be sorted into a group and she still wouldn’t find herself where she wished to be upon the meetings conclusion. After all her group which consisted of D’Angelo, Loki, Luna, Genève, and Oka were to head straight for the West Blue.

And so travel arrangements were made upon greetings being thrown out of the way. They would board a vessel owned by Loki and Luna would be the navigator much to Linda’s appreciation. She had no doubt that the woman could transport them to their new station and so she wasn’t worried. Anyways the group had until sundown before they had to set sail and so Linda decided that she would spend her last day on Swallow Island drinking. And drink she did.

Genève Artois

Genève manages to look up at D’Angelo without moving her head. There’s a small smile on the blonde’s face and she holds the gaze for a solid five seconds before returning her attention to the man on stage. Usually the noble would’ve been up in arms about being pat on the head since it was something adults did to kids and she wasn’t a kid, but D’Angelo was her childhood friend and so she was fine with it. Especially since the young man was comforting her. So, she saw no reason to tell him to stop, thus allowing him to continue the gesture until he felt fit to stop.

It was a solid three minutes before the man on stage would begin to fill the assembled marines on what they had been called for. Apparently, the man had been told to split up the present marines into new groups - surprisingly the hall didn’t erupt into chatter. He continued to explain that a majority of the groups formed would be staying on Swallow Island whilst a few were deployed into the other blues. He didn’t know specifics, just that the higher ups had deemed there to be certain people who would be more useful in blues a little more dominated by marines.

In the case of the group from Lvneel, they would be thrown together with one older marine and two marines around their age. After introductions were out of the way and Oka managed to gush all over Linda, the group would disperse to prepare for the long trip ahead. After all, they had been deployed to the west blue and were to set sail at sundown.

Loki Natsuki

Unfortunately the meeting had gone just as Loki had imagined it would. His gut had a twisting feeling as he silently cursed at himself for not just leaving immediately. In the end it wouldn't be a bad deal but presently the situation looked like a huge nuisance. The Commanding Officer up front started his speech as the last couple stragglers arrived. His speech was a simple one and he mostly reiterated orders Loki had just been given. However he continued on to divide the Marines in the room into seperate groups. Loki immediately knew he was only called here because he had a boat and he needed to provide that resource to the less fortunate. Of course this also meant he was going to be stuck with a handful of strangers in an enclosed space for a while. The group Loki was paired with was all close to his age a few girls and one other boy. The situation could have been much worse so he wasnt going to complain too much. With their new directions and new 'squad' the group was ready to set off for the West Blue for another unknown super classified mission.

Oka Takanashi

Oka is over the moon when she hears that she has been thrown on the same squad as Linda Savage. She entirely ignored the fact that she had been thrown with two other people as she greeted the marine with a frightening amount of fervor that even D’Angelo would’ve been put off if he was a stranger to Oka and her antics. Only after the princess was done gushing over the marine she had been searching for would she introduce herself to Luna and Loki - honorifics were dropped since no one outside of Lvneel needed to know the trio hailed from the royal court. She noted in the back of her mind that half the group had L names and her mind would store it away as an interesting fact.

Needless to say, the group agreed to meet on Loki’s ship at sundown. It gave Oka plenty of time to retrieve her belongings from the ship that had brought the group to Swallow Island as well as assist Genève - the noble had lots of books she would refuse to leave behind. She went on a short shopping trip once their belongings had been moved, grabbing food and stocking up on water for the trip - just in case. By time sundown finally came, Oka was ready to go. Or… as ready as someone leaving the north blue for the first time could be. But any feeling of discomfort was drowned by the excitement the princess felt. For with this trip she would begin to truly experience the world outside of Lvneel.

D'Angelo Clover

D'Angelo noticed the brief gaze of Genève, before moving his hand. Only after she had relaxed a bit. Although the knight always had some sort of smile on his face, this smile was a more genuine one. He felt like a big brother to both Genève as well as Oka, most likely because he basically grew up with them. They had a powerful bond. Which gave D'Angelo leeway with them on many things.

All the Marines had finished pouring into the room. They all had been yammering, but immediately stopped when the lead Marine began speaking. It was obvious in his tone that he didn't want to be the one here, but he had no choice. He explained how some Marines would be staying on the island while others would be sent off to other blues. D'Angelo wonder which group they'd be a part of. He hoped it was the latter.

"Loki Natsuki, Linda Savage, Luna Valentine, Oka Takanashi, Genève Artois, and D'Angelo Clover." The names rattled off one after another. D'Angelo quickly began scanning the room. He noticed the reactions of the others in his group. As well as Oka's excitement to being grouped with the very person they came to this island to find. D'Angelo was happy for Oka.   The rest of the groups were announced and the Marines dispersed.

Before formally meeting they're crew the trio had to prepare for their departure. Their crew had been one of the few tasked with leaving. D'Angelo normally would tag along with Oka and Genève, but had to prepare his own things. He was a doctor after all and needed supplies on top of his own personal effects.
