The ranting and raving of some of the figherman in Loguetown were almost amusing when Hure had first heard them. They spoke of insane fish, and how they were attacking the fishing boats and sinking them. Not to be bested, others would speak about the fisherman being attacked by fish, octopi, and sightings of sharks in the water that were closing down the beaches of the island off to all that wanted to go for a swim at any time. Mentionings of Beli rewards for all who helped would spur the mermaid into wanting to do so. After all, the female Fishman probably had the best chance at taking care of the problem at its source. She could control aquatic life, to a point, and could simply just tell the fish to leave or help her find the source of the problem. If all else failed she would capture the fish and turn them in for even more Beli by selling them at the fish market. Fresh fish always sold well, and octopi and shark were not that common which meant even more Beli if she played her cards right.

Leaving her guitar at home, not wanting to risk losing it to the oceans depths, the pink haired girl would make her way to the fisherman's docks so that she could make her way to the troubled waters.

One older fisherman would stop her, standing in front of her before speaking. "You don't want to go in there miss. There's crazy fish and other sea creatures attacking everybody!"

While it was nice to know that someone was making sure no one would walk, or swim, into danger and possibly death. However, Hure had no intention of backing down now that she had decided to help deal with this problem. "Don't you worry sir! I am here to help and have no intention of getting myself killed while doing so!" Her smile was disarming, but that didn't quite stop the man from trying to intervene.

"While I understand you want to help, I don't want to see a woman get hurt doing something like this." His words were quite stern, and a bit upsetting to the woman that had learned to do just about everything on her own.

"Well excuse me! I guess I'll go back to Fishman island and pretend that I have no control over fish in the sea or anything!" It was obvious she was a Fishman, or was this man purposely ignoring that in his moments of trying to keep a lady from doing something dangerous.

"Oh, I'm do sorry miss! I did not mean to offend. I just want to keep everyone safe while this problem is being dealt with!" The geezer would quickly step off to the side and allow her to pass.

"Excellent. I'll be sure to make this as quick as possible so we can all go back to swimming happily on the beaches." With that said she would make a running leap into the water. She would feel more powerful now that she was submerged, and with her feet now going back to a tail form she would be able to outrun anything that thought they were fast in motion.

Everything seemed completely ordinary under the water. Looking around, her eyes perfectly capable of seeing as if she was on dry land, Hure could see nothing that was not supposed to be there. Schools of fish swam about as other aquatic life did what their instincts told them to do. So where were these frenzied fish? Why were they not attacking her immediately? That was when she had a funny thought, what if she would not be bothered because she was also a being of the oceans. Fishman were the rulers of the sea, besides the sea kings, and could control and communicate the lesser intelligent animals around them. Using her one thought as a clue, the mermaid would swim to once of the fishing boats and begin to pull it while still under the water. The sound of surprised yelling could be heard from a few of the fishers that could see their boat drifting off without them. With the water unsafe they would have to hope it came back to them safely or be without a boat until they could buy another. Her idea seemed to be correct, after a few minutes of pulling the small boat around. While a good majority of the fish scattered and swam away, a school of fish swam past extremely close and began to swing back around in a straight line towards it. "Stop! You guys have no reason to attack this boat! There is no one on it and I'm just pulling it around!" The fish would not even react to her, the small creatures swimming right into aquatic vessel without thought of their own safety.

How rude! These fish were most definitely in a frenzy all right! But why were they doing so? It was clear they were not here to talk, the small school of fish repeatedly hitting the boat, so the woman decided that she needed to just take them out once and for all. Instead of simply killing the fish and leaving the bodies for other animals, Hure decided to climb up onto the boat and grab the net that was on it. With net in hand, the Mermaid would quickly swim until she had managed to catch all twenty in the object before tying it together. After doing so she would push it back onto the boat. Twenty fish, she could sell them at the marketplace for a pretty penny with the decently large size that each one was!

While she could have simply ended it there, the female Fishman easily taking care of a decent chunk of what the problem was, the pink haired girl decided to swim around a little longer to see if anything else was on the fritz. The woman would begin swimming around, looking under areas in the water one could not normally see from the surface. Doing so provided her with a large group of octopi in a small underwater cave. At first they did not see her, the creatures much to attached to the wrecked boat that was clearly one from Loguetown. So there were more than just fish doing this, huh? Knowing that the ones in a frenzy would be impossible to deal with, the young woman did what would be necessary and swam in. This drew their ire upon her, the entire group releasing themselves from the wreckage to begin coming her way.

The octopi did not look too big, nor did they look as healthy as they could have been. It seemed that something they had eaten had messed them up and made them sick. Poor things, acting outside of the normal due to something that was most likely poison to their system. What could it have been though? Had a scientist dumped some toxic waste? Did the ship they had been attached to have a special coating? Had they gotten ahold of a cyborg and have upset tummies? The world would never know, as she was about to slay them here and leave this place for good.

The octopi came at her all at once, tentacles twirling all about as they tried to latch onto any part of her that they could. What the poor creatures could not have known was that she was prepared for them to attempt the poor excuse of an attack. Dodging one octopus, by quickly moving to her right, she would find the other four on the opposite side of her from it. Upon getting herself in a more advantageous position the mermaid would lash out, grabbing the aquatic creature by the head before squeezing; it's brain being turned to mush even as it flailed about. With a now dead animal in her left hand, and her right hand free, the woman would fight off the others using their brethren as a whip even as she tore them to pieces with her own improved strength while in the water. It would be only a few minutes, a couple burning sucker marks on her skin to show where she had been hit, before she could be seen swimming towards the ruined boat that lay in the middle of the cave.

Swimming up to the ruined boat would allow her to look into the center of the small fisherman's ship to see what looked to be a strangely covered cyborg, a film coming up off of him. It smelled bad, even in the diluted waters, and seemed to come from the organic parts of the dead being. Well, at least she now knew what was causing this whole issue. Animals had feasted on the carcass, and whatever this thing was leaking was driving them insane. The only thing that worried her were the massive bite marks that none of the animals she had taken care of would be able to cause. The only thing in these waters, able to get here to do so, would be....sharks! The woman would turn quickly to look in all directions. With all the octopi killed, blood in the water, she was going to have an issue now!

Lo and behold, from the caves entrance, swam in two sharks that quickly tore through some of the octopus remains they came across before seeing the woman swimming in the water. "Shit!" Would be the only word to leave her lips as she looked around for another exit. Seeing none she would find herself tearing apart a piece of the boat to give herself some weapons in the form of wooden spikes made from the hull of the wrecked boat. The sharks would pass by at the same time for an attack, the woman barely dodging as she swung one of her improvised weapons into the left fin of one of the sharks. It would cut deep, splitting the fin in half and making the shark swim wildly for a moment as it thrashed in anger while regaining its swim movements so it could come at her again.

With one bleeding from a split fin, the fin making it harder for the shark to really charge at her easily, and the other already in a frenzy the fight devolved into a free for all that only she would remember. The bleeding shark found the other shark suddenly biting into it even as it tried to come towards Hure. Not wishing to be injured as badly as a shark could do to her she shoved the wooden weapon forward to plunge it into the creature's eye. It did a weird motion, most likely due to the pain and sudden blindness, before attacking the shark that was latched into it's side. What happened next was something you would expect out of a comedy, the blind shark bit through the head of the other even as it succumbed to the wounds it had received. It would appear both died simultaneously, and to each other's attacks as the last straw. With nothing else attacking her, the woman would cover up the cyborg's body with rocks to keep anything from getting to it before swimming back to where she had dove in.

The fisherman from before walked up to her, noticing the injuries from the octopi she had sustained.

"Don't worry, it's nothing too serious and should heal on its own. I think I found the problem and solved it. The sea creatures that were in a frenzy are captured or dead, and I found a cyborg leaking a strange chemical so it was promptly buried so that nothing else can get to it."

The fisherman would nod happily in understanding as he reached into his pocket before reaching out to show Beli in it. "Thank you so much, you have saved our livelihood! Take this as appreciation from us in this community, it's the least we can do! And those fish, you can have the profit they sell for. They were your catch after all!"

Hure would gratefully take the money. She was pretty broke after all. And it seemed a trip down to the market was next on her list. Fresh fish for sale, right?
