Iris, Blake and Law had arrived on Karate Island a few days before, while everyone went to do their own thing for most of the time, they had also agreed to meet and share information. After all they had travelled to the island to look for Iris' killer, or the person Iris wanted to kill, or the person that killed Iris' family, something like that. Blake had no clue why she had agreed to this and even less of an idea why Law was following along, but both of them owed her a favour and they were somewhat useful.

Blake was the last to arrive, she had gotten into the habit of starting her day with exercise and just barely finished her jog around town to arrive at the eastern town's market square in time. Wiping some sweat from her face and snatching an apple from a stand, as she passed it, she pulled her hood down and greeted the two with a smile. It was a surprising genuine smile, as she had changed a bit since travelling the island and wholeheartedly enjoyed the place. “Long time no see, good to see neither of you died.”

While chewing on her apple the Kuja took her time to take a closer look at the girl and man in front of her, if anything Blake was most likely the one of them closest to death multiple times on her journey. If she remembered right it had added some rather nasty marks to her already scared body, but every fun experience had to come with a bit of hardship. “I found something interesting, but sadly no clue of a murderer.” The opposite was actually true, most people on the island were far too honest and the furthest from murderers. “Well other than that guy and me”, grining she pointed at the samurai boy.

Appearance:

There was just something about this island that put the samurai at ease from his past conflicts. There was a lot going on in Law's head, but that wasn't really new. What is new is his appearance. His eyes are now as black as his hair which is now a lot more silkier as well as longer than it normally was, and the scar on his nose seemed to have disappeared. The samurai didn't know what to think of his sudden change back then at the time, but he has gotten use to it, and had little care about what other, especially these two would think of it.

Marcel wanted to tag along with these two because of the rumors he has heard of about this island as well as the name peeking his interest. The samurai took a good look around the peaceful yet hard working environment. A small smile grew on his face as this island reminded him a lot of Shimotsuki Village, one of the few good islands in these Blues to him. Law then took out a bento box that he bought from a nearby market stand, and glanced up at the white haired girl before looking back down to open it. "You know, I highly doubt that whoever it is you are looking for would be in a place like this." the samurai said as he looked around, admiring the area once more.

"But I suppose even snakes can find their way down a rabbit hole." Law continued before taking a glance over to see that the green haired girl has arrived. Law just took a bite out of his food as the girl made her first comment. He would continue to eat as the girl talked about finding something "interesting" but nothing about a murderer. The samurai would then glance up to her with an eyebrow raised as she made her little comment about him and herself. "There's a difference between being a murderer, and preventing a disaster." he would respond as he took another bite.

“I got that info from a guy who was ready to piss his pants, you know.” Iris countered Law's remark. “He could have only gotten to here or Briss from Baterilla, and he wasn't in Briss. Had to have come through here at the very least.” She was already getting upset that sword-guy questioned her agenda, but decided to keep herself together. Who could know what Blake would do if she found out one of her favour-owee's had killed the other. To prevent further escalation, she kept looking somewhat in the opposite direction of him, seated on a laid down wardrobe trunk. Iris had gotten a room where she could technically leave things, but even after what little time it had been, she felt wrong going out without it and her various things it carried.

Possibly luckily, In just the right moment the green-haired third person of the meetup appeared. Marcel had unpacked a lunch in the meantime and as if to agree, Blake had found herself an apple before approaching the duo. Overhearing the man's attempt to avoid accusation of being a murderer, though he clearly was one, “So, what is the interesting thing then?” While Blake had already defused the situation by making away with Iris' main interest as of the moment, she was still sort of interested. If for nothing else, there was always hope that one thing could lead to another and somehow loop back to useful information on the elusive arsonist or his employers.

So she sat there, expectingly looking at the green-haired girl. Worst came to worst it could be a good diversion doing something other then grasping at straws for any kind of clue. Just to get a bit of distance, clear thoughts and maybe start over with a fresh mind rather then trying to bash repeatedly against the same proverbial wall. At least that was a possibility, if Blake did not end up having an excellent nose for finding tedious and dangerous trouble. Which Iris would still have to sit through due to oweing her.

Blake looked around her, she did not feel like talking about her finding in the middle of the market place. “How about we find a quieter place to chat”, she said and tried to remember the general lay out of the town, “since we had bad luck with pubs in the past, how about the beach?” Saying that she turned around and pointed in the direction of a street and somewhat guessing stated: “I think it was that way to the beach.”

After another bite from her apple she took the lead. She was not really sure if she should tell the two about the things she had found out about a hidden devil fruit, who knew if they would not want the fruit for themselves, but she felt that she might need their help. Her journey all over the island had brought her face to face with multiple fighting masters and after the last she was almost certain that an even stronger obstacle was waiting for her.

While guiding the little group down the street towards the ocean her thoughts were interrupted by a loud gunshot noise. It was so unexpected on the quiet island that it made Blake jump a little, before she realized the source of the sound was much further down the road. “Hmm... that is rare, maybe pirates attacking the town?” She said out loud, but already had started walking a bit faster, before breaking into a run. It obviously was not the smartest thing to run towards the source of a gunshot, but more than anything she was curious and in case someone was bothering the peaceful people of the island, they had to deal with her!

Quick to the road overseeing the beach below Blake took cover behind a knee high wall from where she spotted a two big pirate ships, about a hundred rather dirty looking sailors in front of it and surrounded by them a small group of men and women shaking in fear at the sight of one of their friends being shot.

Law looked off into the distance, admiring a dojo away from the two as he continued to eat, having one ear on their conversation and the other on the others who were training outside. The samurai paused with the food about to go into his mouth as he overheard Blake saying that they should find a quieter place. "I'm guessing this is something illegal?" he added right before she mentioned going to a beach instead of a pub. He shrugged, and proceeded to follow behind the two while still stuffing his face.

A soft sigh escaped Marcel's mouth as he took in all that he's seeing. The friendly faces, the children playing together, the people constantly working hard from day by day. It brought a small smile to Law's face, but it wouldn't last long as a gunshot broke the samurai's concentration. The samurai listened to the girl before she ran off in the direction of the gunshot. "Kids these days. Would rather dive head first into danger. the samurai would say with an annoyed tone as he threw his bento box into a nearby trashcan before following behind the other two.

They would soon arrive to a road overseeing the beach, and would witness two big pirate ships. The samurai stood behind the wall that the green haired woman hid behind and looked on at this filth. His eyebrows would lower as he watched yet another island of innocent people being taken advantage of by scum. Law sighed before walking around the wall, and down to the beach without consulting the two girls. His eyes were on the ships before shifting to the terrified civilians and dead body. His eyes then fixed on the hundreds of pirates who were laughing, taunting, and threating the people. Scum is the only word that would roll around in his mind as he gripped the hilt of his weapon even more.

Marcel would find himself amongst the crowd of citizens, gently passing by them before looking down at the body. Law would examine it for a little. An elderly woman with a hole in her head, blood leaking out with a terrified expression on her face. "Oi, mate!" one of the pirates amongst the crowd of pirates yelled out towards Marcel with a flintlock aimed at him, getting his attention. "I suggest you get your ass back in with that crowd, unless you want to join that old prune." the pirate would threaten as his buddies laughed, and screamed, screaming various insults.

Law would stare in the direction of that pirate, his expression as calm as ever while stepping over the body. The samurai would then glance back at the citizens, seeing that he was far enough from the crowd due to them all stepping back in fear of another casualty. "Oi! What the hell did I just say!?" the pirate yelled as he was ready to fire. Before the pirate could do anything, Marcel closed his eyes and quickly unsheathed his blade, holding it out while spinning around in a constant clockwise motion as the pirates looked on in confusion. Their puzzled faces would soon turn to that of terror as they witnessed a twister form around the still spinning samurai, large enough to catch most if not all of the pirates standing there, shredding whoever was unfortunate enough to get caught into pieces.

The twister along with Law spinning would stop shortly after as shredded bodies landed on the ground. Law slowly sheathed his katana as he opened his eyes, the citizens, and if any pirates left looked on him in shock.

The news would have to wait, as it were. Between Blake suggesting to change location and distractive gun shots happening just as they had started moving, somehow there were things more attention drawing then the aforementioned news. Going from a leisurely walking speed to sprinting down the road until the group ended up overlooking the beach, covering behind a quarter-height wall. Mostly because there was a huge gathering of people on the beach. An outrageous amount of people easily identified as probably the crews of two pirate ships, anchoring a little ways in the ocean forming the backdrop to the scene, was there as well as a somewhat smaller crowd consisting of local people.

There was a lot of ambient crowd noise, so what exactly this meant was not too clear. Only on second glance did Iris notice the dead person in the sand, fairly between the two groups. While she was fairly content with just observing for a moment or two and see what the exact deal was and to what point it would escalate naturally, Law's motion to not stay in cover and instead join the crowd took the edge off that plan immediately. Staying on distance, the girl missed the words that were exchanged as sword-man emerged from the far side of the townsfolk group, but she could see that weapons were pointed, so something was going to happen.

With a display of swordsmanship that was equal parts impressive, ridiculous and ineffective to Iris' point of view, the guy took the initiative into his hands. After he was done, the leading two dozen or so of the sailors were laid low by the attack's reach, while the rest of the fairly large crowd got lucky. Now there was quite literally no chance this would end quickly or without a lot of blood soaking the sand. Iris would not have minded helping the village stand it's ground -she benefited from it's various services and facilities at the moment after all- but this situation had turned into way more effort, practically forcing a violent retaliation of the pirates. While mentally sighing, she snapped open the three locks on her case. She could have probably done without, but if push came to shove and Blake followed Marcel's suit, she would also have to. If only for proving her capability and worth, both to herself and the for the fact she was with Blake for now.

“He is an idiot”, was all Blake could say as reaction to Law's action, but she had already jumped over the wall and rushed into the crowd. Her luck was that the samurai was quite the attention whore. Even before he started causing a tornado all eyes were fixated on him, while Blake just stayed low. Her hood pulled over her face and slightly grinning she disappeared rather easy in the small army of pirates. Numbers had advantages, but at some point it became hard to tell friend and foe apart, even more so in the chaos Law quickly caused, which made it easy for Blake to slide her dagger into two people's backs and two other's necks as they turned around to their screaming comrades.

Yet it was not an advantageous situation, the amount of people was incredible and taking out one by one, or even two by one, would take much too long. For a moment she considered if it was the best idea to just knock everyone out, but just as she was about to the group of people which she had considered victims yelled out loud and stormed the surprised pirates, knocking them down with punches and kicks. “We are on Karate Island, almost forgot”, she laughed while cutting down another guy and then yelled across the turmoil: “Make sure you help them, Samurai!”

The whole situation quickly got even more chaotic as more people noticed what Blake had been doing behind their back and became unsure on who to focus. Between them were Law and the locals, behind them was Blake swiftly rushing between multiple people, using them as cover and at the same time cutting them down, unsure half of the Pirates tried to stop Law and Co. while less than a quarter tried their best to stop Blake, but in the progress the two groups were more hindering each other than helpful. As Blake noticed that her eyes shifted over to the ships. The Pirate leader clearly was not present, otherwise it would not have turned out this well for her, but was he gone or still hiding on the ships?

Law watched as the victims themselves got involved in the fray. His expression was completely dumbfounded, but it would turn into a small smile. Of all the islands he has witnessed in such a situation none of them has ever gotten up, and pushed back like this one. The voice of the green haired girl caused him to turn to her direction, just now noticing that she was there. "A child telling me what to do?" he said to himself before placing a hand on the hilt of his sheathed katana.

The samurai would then close his eyes with a brief chuckle. "Interesting." was what he said after. So far everything that went on in this island was interesting despite the lack of peace. Just then, two pirates attempted a sneak Law from behind, but he would then open his eyes, and turn around unsheathing his katana at the same time for one quick slash, long enough to take them both down. Marcel would then turn around to see that the amount of pirates approaching him, and the citizens increased, a lot of them aiming at the samurai himself. "Seems like I should tone it down a bit if I don't want to harm the citizens..."

Before he could even strike, "We got this, bro!" would be heard from behind the samurai who turned around to see some of the citizens dashing right in front of him to take down some of the pirates. Marcel was a fool to think that this island needed any from of help, but he would still jump in to do his best. Law dashed into the fray, and beheaded the first pirate he came across before tripping another over chest first into his katana. He then threw the body off where it would collide into three other pirates, knocking them down as some of the citizens jumped in, and attacked those three.

Marcel then attacked another one trying to sneak him by bashing the hilt of his katana on his stomach causing him to lose his breathe which Law took this advantage to slit the pirate's throat. In the middle of the battle, he noticed that Iris was still up there, opening that chest thing of hers. If he remembered correctly, she's capable of brining down an entire building. This is about to get even more interesting he thought to himself before taking down another pirate with a deep slash to the stomach.

Seeing that Blake went in as well, after the Samurai over-escalated the situation, there was not much else left to do for Iris then to finish suiting up and joining the fray. Somewhat carelessly dumping the casual arms into the trunk before closing it, Iris was ready to do her part. Vaulting herself over the short wall onto the beach proper, she only had to close some distance. And while the short girl was doing that, the groups of people had somewhat merged into one another, mostly because the villagers were emboldened by the opening strike and about to show these sailors why the place was called Karate Island. That would of course make it way harder to use large-scale attacks like the one before, assuming one did not want to unnecessarily injure or kill villagers.

Bolting across the sand and occasional stones, Iris reached the near side of the brawl, pretty much entirely made up of citizens. For a fraction of a moment, she considered pushing and shoving through, but wiped that thought immediately, that would probably take way too long and be way too much effort if she wouldn't outright punch people out of the way. So instead the decided on a might leap, laboured by both hands pushing into the ground and lifting her off of it in the process. It was a gamble, but the chances to land further on the far side, maybe even on a pirate or two, was decently high. So she soared over the heads of a few dozen people before weigthily crashing onto a person feet first. Only after the fact checking if it was indeed a pirate, whose skull she had just crushed, Iris directed the leftover momentum forward, hurling giant fists at the seafarer swinging to strike her with a sword. It had been a little while since she brawled like this, but in her condition, it really did not require a lot of finesse to just swing the heavy mass of the hands at people and let physics decide the rest, maybe decorate the unelegant mess with the occasional tail stab or heel kick.

Between left-right combinating man after man to the floor or otherwise out of the way, she barely had time to look for her comrades to see how they were doing or to think about how this sutiation would continue. Ideally, they would not have to kill all these people to settle the dispute, but from the way it looked now, there did not seem to be much that could reign any person in this whole mess back into order. Everyone was just beating people who did not look familiar to them, or swinging and shooting respectively.

After the people of Karate Island and then also Iris joined in the brawl got even livelier. Blake had never been in such a brawl before but greatly enjoyed it. Like the wind she dashed from person to person, carving new holes into the pirates with her Tanto all while laughing loudly, even more so whenever she barely dodged an amateur like swing from a pirate that discovered the little manic in time.

Especially after Iris had joined the battle, her brutal and exotic appearance drew even more attention away from Blake and Law, but as the brawl kept swinging in the favor of “the just” more and more pirates started pulling away towards the ship. This sudden change did not remain hidden from Blake for long. The around fifty remaining pirates had all gathered near the ramp leading to one of the ships, almost like they were about to form a wall in an effort to protect something.

Unknown to Blake and most likely the others fighting a small man had stepped down from the ship, covered by his much taller underlings, but furious about the battle. “What do you think you are doing?!”, he yelled and one of the men beside him fired a shot into one of the lesser member's of the crew. The man was clearly the boss, even if his size did not give it away.

Meanwhile Blake used the chance to catch her breath to meet up with Law and Iris again. “Are you two still alive?” She grinned while keeping her eyes fixed on the odd behavior of their opponents. “Their boss is most likely finally out of hiding and doing his best to organize his remaining troops.”

Just as she said this she heard another shot and a loud roar as the remaining pirates stormed forward, ready to battle again. They were loud and re-energized by the fear of their boss, but Blake was far more interested in the little group remaining at the ship. “I leave the last underlings to you two”, she declared with a smile and rushed of to the side, in an effort to circle around the approaching pirates.

Law quickly dodged two more incoming pirates before unleashing a quick back slash on one of them, and beheading the other the moment he turned to look at his fallen comrade. The battle was certainly getting intense! Blood splattering here, and there, endless screams as well as shouting. Too noisy for Marcel's taste. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances, he cannot unleash another twister like strike, and has to settle with these smaller attacks.

"Hm?" the samurai just now realized that the remaining forces began to fall back towards their ships, huddled around each other for some odd reason. A retreat? No. More like a calm before the storm? Marcel sheathed his katana for the moment, keeping his eyes on the targets until he found himself around Iris, and now Blake. "You do see we are still standing, right?" Law responded to the green haired girl's comment with an eyebrow raised before looking up at the pirates "I do have to admit, you two do have some rather interesting forms of fighting." he complimented with a smirk. Law then listened to Blake's comment about the leader of these pirates.

"So, I suggest we take out the head, and the rest will disperse." he commented before the sound of another gunshot got his attention. All of a sudden, most of the pirates began to rush over towards the group again, ready for round two it seems. Blake then made her last declaration before charging off around the pirates to deal with the ones around the ship. Marcel watched as some of the pirates attempted to apprehend the girl, causing the samurai to retaliate by quickly unsheathing his blade in a vertical fashion, unleashing a vertical gust of wind in the shape of a crescent moon, slicing through the ground towards those pirates. The burst of wind easily made quick work of about half of the approaching pirates due to how close together they were, and of course the ones that attempted to attack Blake, the wind barely missing the girl before it disappeared.

Law then let out a small sigh before saying, "Guess we're going with killing them all then." briefly glancing at Iris before dashing off towards the carnage.

Iris van Valkenburgh

Iris van Valkenburgh
For a time that felt close to an eternity, Iris had no problem moving hand over hand from one pirate to the next, as they kept grouping up on her. With high success, at that, since while they were hardy sailors, amost none of them stood much of a chance against what were for all intents and purposes two anvils tied together and being swung around. Most of the men immediately stopped putting up resistance once their skulls had developed an unhealty cracking after being hit or most of their ribcages being broken by the sheer mass flying at them. The occasional sword of fist managed to Hit iris, but for the most part, it probably hurt her attackers more then herself, striking the metal-plated limbs.
Eventually though, the crowd thinned considerably, more and more often she found herself just out of range to grab or smash the next guy. Evidently, the pirates had stopped pushing their offense and instead were pulling back. So by circumstance, the three ended up unoccupied and close to each other. The first real opportunity to see how everyone else had been faring. The difference between Blake and Marcel could not have been stronger. While the girl seemed to enjoy this situation like others might a good play or book, while the samurai had opted to stick to his usual hard-to-judge expression. The question if they were still alive was unsurprising. While the answer was obvious, it sounded like just the thing one would say in a situation like this. "I've had worse." That was true as far as getting injured went, at least. The few bruises and ignorable cuts Iris had taken were hadly comparable to what she had dealt.

The little meeting got cut short, punctuated by decisive gun shots. Blake assumed that to be the person who led the pirates, seeing how they crowded towards the ships for a moment, before charging again in a rejuvenated, but desperate roar. Blake took upon herself to see about this captain person, leaving Law and Iris to keep his henchmen busy. So they did, with the swordman impressively slicing some of them to ribbons as they tried to stop Blake fomr charging past them.
For the second time in the last couple of minutes, Iris flung herself to leap right into a group of people, being unable to cut up pirates from afar. Instead, she landed feet first on one of the men, spiking him through the skull to the sand before grabbing his lifeless body by the leg to hurl it at the remaining men that managed to not get cut by law and were still intent to try and hinder the green girl's advance. That should have drawn quite the attention, or so Iris hoped at least. And just as before, the group of pirates tried to find their salvation from the strange, over-armed girl by swarming her in numbers. Not that it helped much. With some finesse, she covered her blind spot wil swift tail stabs when necessary while bludgeoning the living daylights out of these men. It was almost like watching someone swat exceptionally fat and annoying flies.

Ignoring the other pirates and Law and Iris who did their best to draw all attention towards them, Blake made a beeline past the thickest wall of pirates and easily cut past the initial wave at the side. In the progress another two enemies met her daggers. Then she was past them and luckily Iris and Law were more than enough for them to draw attention. “Those two are really useful”, she said with a smile as she looked over her shoulder, before focusing on what was ahead of her.

Her target's eyes were still focused on the brawl, which gave Blake enough time to carefully get closer. She had to pay attention to the guards surrounding him, as they were much more focused on their surrounding and each carried a riffle, yet it was only a few meters before they were in Blake's range and so she just dashed towards the small group.

As soon as they spotted the woman coming for them the first guard raised their gun and fired a shot that just barely missed Blake's arm, but she just grinned and at the same time released her Haki, she wanted to release earlier. Within the blink of an eye the gunmen in front of her fell to the ground, opening up the view towards her actual goal: their captain.

Cutting the head of the beast was the quickest solution to the whole problem, with both daggers in her hand she stopped a few meters from him, giving him a moment to realize what happened to his soldiers. “For a pirate captain you are rather short.” “What did you do to my men?!” Blake just shrugged and kept grinning as she examined him and planed her attack.
