Kibo Yamanaka
It's been one day since the small skirmish that happened down at the docks of this corrupted island. The battle between the spring human Revolutionary and the Mucus human Pirate. This battle has left Edward having all of his ribs on the right side of his body as well as his right arm broken with bruises all over his back and chest. He was lying down on a single person bed in a small cabin like house on the outskirts of Briss Kingdom, still unconscious from the previous events, only wearing black pants. There were white medical bandages wrapped around his forehead, right arm, upper body, and the lower part of his body just above his pelvis while his broken arm was also being kept elevated by his chest with a cast. His precious longsword was on a long brown table in the corner of this one floor cabin, shining as if it were just cleaned by someone.

Edward's eye brows would twitch a little as he slowly opened his eyes. He proceeded to slowly sit up on the bed, wincing a little with some groans and began to rub his eyes with his good arm before taking a good look around. "Where hell am I?" he said to himself as he inspected his patched up body. "My sword!" Edward exclaimed as he realized that his sword wasn't with him. He frantically observed the room again in hopes of finding it. As soon as he set his eyes on his longsword at the table in the corner, he without thinking, quickly got up and tried to jump out of the bed to get to it only to fall face first on the ground, causing him to wince more in pain.

Just then, the cabin door began to open which caused Edward to quickly lift his head up towards the door. Coming in was a familiar face or rather, a familiar green cloak. It was the mysterious woman who gave Edward the information about his first Revolutionary task on this island as well as the one who patched up his damaged body. She sighed at the shameful display, shaking her head a little. "Geez, if I'd known you wanted to die that badly, I would've just left you back there at the docks." she said, teasingly as she crouched down to help the boy up.

"Oh. You again." Edward said with an unamused tone as the mysterious woman helped him to sit on the bed. "I have a name." she said with a smirk on her face as she placed her hands on her hips, facing the spiky haired teen. "Well, it's not like I freakin know it or anything." Edward retorted with a pissed off look on his face. The woman then raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. "Hey, you can always ask, Eddy." she said, teasingly once again as she flicked his nose, causing Edward to attempt to bite it before she quickly pulled it back, giggling a little. "Like I give a crap about your name! And, it ain't Eddy, it's Edward!" the boy yelled as he flailed his good arm towards the woman. "Wow, is that really how you thank the person who just saved your ass?" she asked which caused Edward to stop flailing his arm as he lowered his eyebrows.

"W-wait. You mean to tell me that YOU were the swordsman?" Edward asked the woman with a bit of shock and disbelief in his tone. The woman would then laugh and shake her head before walking towards the kitchen. "No, no. That was some other guy. I'm the one who hauled your broken ass all the way up here and patched you up. Well, with some help. Had to do some surgery on you as well. The ribs on the right side of your body and your right arm are in pretty bad condition." she said before making her way into the kitchen. Edward would then take another look at his right arm which was in a cast, then would look at the lower part of his body above his pelvis which was patched up, poking at his right side with his good hand a little, causing him to wince before having brief flashbacks of what caused this damage. Those mucus attacks of that pirate.

The woman would then come out with a bowl of pork ramen for Edward. The scent of the ramen caused Edward's stomach to growl before he began eyeing the meal. The woman would then bring up a small table in front of Edward before placing the bowl of ramen with chopsticks on the table. Obviously knowing that it was for him, Edward didn't hesitate to pick up the chopsticks with his good hand and proceeded to devour the meal. He may not know how to fish, but he can surely use chopsticks. "You have quite the appetite." the woman said, giggling a little as she watched him, only for Edward to ignore her and continue eating as if he were a dog.

"Oh, right. This is for you as well." she said as he tossed the latest News Coo on the table besides the ramen, causing Edward to pause a little and glance at the paper.

Edward finishes the ramen and picks up the bowl to drink the soup. He then places the bowl back on the table and takes a deep breathe before taking another look at the News Coo. "You bought me a news paper?" he asked the woman while raising an eyebrow. She then looked over to Edward, chuckling a little before sitting on a chair, saying "Me? Oh no. You bought it actually." Edward then looked up to her with a puzzled look on his face, tilting his head a little. "I may have, to the goodness of my heart, took some of your Belis and used it to buy that News Coo for you. I'm impressed that a little child like yourself would have this much Belis." She said with an amused tone as she dangled the sack of Edward's remaining Beli in front of him before tossing it to him which he catches with his good hand.

"....What?" he said with a clearly pissed off tone as one of his eye brows twitched. The woman would giggle once more before saying, "Relax. It isn't like I took any out for my own selfish needs. Although, I have considered it." she said, saying that last part in a wondering tone as she tapped a finger on her chin. "So!? That doesn't give you the right to just take anyone else's Beli!" he yelled, slamming his good arm on the table as the woman giggled again, clearly amused by this whole thing. "Welcome to the world, Eddy. Plus, I've read through some of your....records and you are no stranger to stealing as well." she said, teasingly. "Y-yeah! But, it's not like I took actual money or anything!!" he said in an annoyed and defeated tone as he stubbornly picked up the News Coo with his good hand and began to read as the woman looked at him with an amused expression.

The first thing Edward saw was the bounties for some of the most wanted pirates. "Naga D. Linnea?" he said in a questionable tone as he gazed upon her bounty. "She someone you know?" the woman asked Edward, only for him to shake his head. "No. It's just, the "D" part." Edward said in a wondering tone as he continued reading the other bounties. "Oh, just like yourself right?" she asked the boy as she put a leg over her other one. "No. That isn't actually part of my name. The only thing real about my name is Edward. The D and Smith is something I adopted from my mentor." he said as he finished reading the bounties with a smirk on his face. He couldn't help but be happy to know that pirates were still giving the World Government trouble.

"Ah, yes. Smith D. Fang was his name, correct?" the woman would ask as Edward nodded to her question as he continued to read. "I'm actually surprised that someone as calm and peaceful as Fang would train a short tempered death seeking fool such as yourself." she said with a grin which only caused Edward to glance up to her in annoyance before shaking his head a little as he continued reading. Just then as he was reading, Edward's eyes widened at something that he had thought he would never have to see ever. The Pirate King, defeated! "What the hell!?" Edward yelled out as his eyes glued to the paper, reading every bit of the section of the paper regarding the Pirate King's defeat and capture. The woman would then look to the boy with a slight frown since she already knew what he was talking about.

"The Marine can't have their way! If I weren't in these damn bandages, I'd go straight to freaking Impel Down and...." was what Edward was screaming as he got up from the bed too fast, causing him to wince a little in pain which stopped him in mid sentence. The woman would then shake her head and say, "And what? Die?" Edward then looked at her. He was about to say something before being interrupted by her. "Just look at the position you're in now. Your body is pretty smashed up and from who? Some small time pirate? If it wasn't for that mystery swordsman, you would've been nothing but a crushed up corpse. Oh yeah, and aren't you forgetting that you're NOT a pirate? You are a Revolutionary who needs to stick to his duties. Your ass was almost killed the other day and that was just a taste of how rough things can get. I know you are a huge fan of pirates, but that doesn't mean you are one or that you could leave yourself wide open in front of one like you did the other day. You need to learn that it's not always wise to jump into trouble without thinking it through. You keep this up and it will mean your death."

Edward looked at the woman for a bit, taking in all that she has said before looking down at the table. He has been through a lot and he just became a Revolutionary. He was nearly killed in his first mission and failed his other mission and was almost killed there as well. The woman did have a point. Edward had to stop foolishly jumping into and causing trouble. He needed to think things through instead of purely listening to his gut. He would also need to fix his trust for pirates. There are some good pirates and bad ones, bad being the majority. There is no true way of telling which is which and he has to learn to accept that or he may end up dying at the hands by the very same people he respects like what almost happened yesterday.

It's been two weeks since the day Edward almost lost his life. He still had medical bandages on him just like the day he regained his conscious except the cast on his right arm is gone and now it only has medical tape. The bones on his right arm and his right ribs have healed but are still very fragile as well as his back and chest still hurting, but he is able to walk correctly and move both arms. He was out in front of the cabin slashing at the air with his GreatSword to train a little. He had a lot of training to catch up on due to being on bed rest for about two weeks and didn't want to slack off.

Edward was making grunting noises as he slashed the sword at the air. It still hurt, but he couldn't wait any longer. He had to get stronger for the road ahead. He began to try and swing his sword with his right hand which moved slower compared to the left hand. "Woah, easy there tiger or you will break those bones all over again." the mysterious woman said to Edward as she walked up to him, coming from a shop with some bags in her hand. "I'm not about to lay in that damn bed any longer. I got things to do." Edward said with a smirk as he continued swinging the sword.

"Your superiors know of your condition. I'm pretty sure they aren't that mad that you screwed your mission, considering that Spider guy was killed off." Edward stopped and dug the edge of the sword into the ground before looking to her. "You said a swordsman was the one who offed Spider, right? I knew I wasn't wrong. I saw the glimpse of someone with a katana before I lost consciousness. I am going to train real hard until I am as strong as that guy. Maybe even challenge him to a duel." Edward said with a snicker as the woman placed the bags on the ground to cross her arms. "You don't even know what he looks like or who he was. What if he's a bounty hunter of some kind?" the woman asked. "Don't worry, I'm pretty sure our paths will cross again....maybe. It wasn't just luck that he was there. This is that destiny crap I hear about." Edward said with a confident grin before he continued talking.

"But, don't worry. I've actually done some thinking about what you told me two weeks ago. I'll listen more to my head and be cautious around pirates. I can't just let my old dream of being a pirate shadow my actions." Edward lowered his head down a little as he gripped the handle of his GreatSword. The woman looked to Edward with a little concern on her face.

"I'm a Revolutionary Soldier and I must focus on my duties. To bring the World Government to its knees." Edward said, confidently as he looked back up to the woman with a smile. "Thanks a lot for your help, ummm..." Edward said, placing a hand under his chin since he never learned her name.

"It's Serenity." the woman said with a smile.
