Wade couldn't help but look out into the ocean as the ship quietly sailed. The water was almost completely black, as it was nighttime, and the only real light source they had were the lights on the ship, as it was a New Moon tonight, leaving the surrounding area in utter darkness. Though his vision couldn't pierce through the thick carpet of blackness, he still looked. Something about the ocean soothed him, even though it'd probably be the death of him someday. Devil Fruits and water don't mix after all. At the thought of Devil Fruits Wade closed his eyes and let out a quiet sigh. He only ever used the Hebi Hebi no Mi once, and it was out of emotion. He was fighting a group of thugs and he was on the loosing side. As if it were instinct in-order to ensure his survival, he transformed. Though it is indeed useful, he never did use it again. Why? He himself doesn't know.

Perhaps he just hasn't found a reason to use it yet. Or maybe he was subconsciously trying to block it out. After all, it was his father's fault for making him eat it. But then again, if the Fruit really a bad thing? Though he wanted to think this topic through further, he was interrupted as Captain Jo Wang Shin came to him. Jo Wang Shin was a rather burly man with long, faded red hair, gray skin, and seemingly no eyes as he wore bandages over them. "Ensign Bainbrydge....," He began, "We're here. We can't get any closer to the base without being detected so you and the squad will have to use a rowboat the rest of the way." Wade, looking at the old man, simply nodded. Within a few moments time, he and 5 other ensigns were rowing away from the ship towards the island.

Wade looked at the base as they grew nearer and nearer to it. The base itself was surrounded by a small amount of trees. Enough to provide decent cover for fighting, but too small to even be remotely considered a forest. The base stood above them, being three times the size of the trees. Wade, knowing his mission, gulped and gripped onto his cane tightly. This mission was already dangerous enough. He needed to be careful not only to ensure his own life, but also the life of these five Marines that he will command tonight. Within a few moments, they managed to get to shore. Stepping out of the small boat, Wade looked at the five men. Neigh, not even men. Teenagers that he commanded. Two were armed with rifles and three were armed with swords. All of them looked determined and ready to fight. Wade simply nodded at them and gestured them to follow his lead, which they did. The group slowly crept into the foliage around the base and looked around the area.

A gate surrounded the base and two guards were at its door. One Marine instinctively took aim at the two, ready to shoot. But Wade pushed his gun down. He had a idea to keep things quiet. He began to scramble at the ground until he managed to find a good sized rock. Taking aim with his good arm, he threw it over to the left of the gate, resulting in a smashing sound of stone against metal. The two guards instinctively looked at one another and, after a nod of their heads, the left one went to investigate. "Go get the one at the gate. I got lefty." He whispered as he made his way to said guard in silence, moving slowly and praying that the guard at the gate wouldn't turn his head. Luckily, he didn't and Wade managed to get behind the lone guard and promptly brought his arm under his neck and hand over his mouth, bring him into a choke hold. He stayed like that for a few moments, the man slowly coming to stop due to lack of oxygen until he finally became out-cold. Noticing this, Wade released his neck and put both hands on his head and withing a swift movement, snapped his neck.

He turned around and looked to see if the other guard was disposed of. That he way. A slash was at his neck and was pouring blood, while his squad was the gate, waiting for him. Re-grouping with them, he ordered two of the Marines to bring the bodies to the ocean and dump them. As they dragged them off, he then proceeded to sneak through the gate with remaining four. It was a open field between the gate and entrance to the base and a good four guards were patrolling the large around. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he spoke quietly to the four boys. "Get behind 'em...then take 'em out. If he sees you, do what every yous can to kill him before he can make any noise." The four nodded and they split up with Wade staying behind to oversee them. As expected, each guard went down easily...until the gun-totting Marine was found out. The guard had turned and began to charge at him, to which the Marine fired at him, killing him on spot. That one shot seemed to echo in the night sky.

"Shit..." Wade whispered as he rushed towards the four Marines to regroup. It was then that the entrance to the base opened and two Rogue Marines came out, wielding guns. Wade, using his speed, snatched two swords from his allies and used his Rokushiki prowess to approach the duo noticed before diving the blades into their throats, killing them. Once the deed was done, he gestured the group two and noticed the two Marines he sent off earlier had returned. Once again he ordered them to dump the six bodies to the ocean. Afterward, he gave the two swords back to their owners before entering the quiet base, feeling not at ease.

The base itself was rather torn up, most likely due to the rouges rather than age. There were long crevices and bullet holes on the majority of the walls. Tables, chairs, paintings, and windows were all but destroyed and shattered. Thinking back to his briefing, Wade remembered that there are a total of 21 men here. They had already killed 8. So this left them 13 men to go. Wiping the sweat off his brow, he lead his small squadron about the base. Knowing that most Marine bases share similar structures, he quickly formulated a plan. "We gonna blow up they weapon depot. Make 'em confused." Wade whispered to his small squad of 3. Slowly and steadily, they tranversed the seeming dead compound until, finally, they encountered a squad of four men as a intersection. Wade and his squad quickly hid behind the wall leading the four-way path on their side, peeking around it to see where the four are going. They were heading straight for them, but were talking amongst themselves, having not taken noticed to the squad yet. "Go!" Wade said as he quickly lunged out. With his greater speed and longer legs, he kicked two of the four men into the wall quite violently. Before the remaining two could react, they were cut down by the trio of Marines. After settling that, they stabbed the knocked out ones and continued onward.

Soon enough, they were back outside, though they did not have to travel far from the compound before finding a massive shed. Of course, two guards stood at it's entrance. After some thought, Wade thought it'd be wiser to sneak in rather than cause more commotion. Thus, while leading his squad, they approached it from the side. Wade with his greater height, climbed up through the already smashed window. He looked about. Cannons, cannon balls, rifles, pistols and best of all, kegs upon kegs of gun powder. With a smile, he took ahold one and climbed back out of the place, leaving a trail of gunpowder around it's wooden foundation to ensure a fire would start. He then began to make a trail, slowly walking back inside the compound as he did. After a minute and so of moon walking, the keg was empty. "Shoot and run like hell." Wade said as he himself prepared for the incoming hell. The Marine nodded and shot at the long trail of gunpowder before all of them hightailed it deep into the compound. It only took a matter of seconds before a earth shaking explosion happened. Bracing themselves for the onslaught ahead, they quickly found themselves in a very large, empty room. It must have been the general meeting room. And, of course, about 10 Rouges surrounded them, swords drawn.

The tenseness was palpable and was so thick, one could cut it with a knife. The four Marines stood back to back, the two having their swords drawn and the one gunman already aiming while Wade stood, ready to fight. It wasn't long until they heard slow, calm footsteps coming their way. Never they did they rush nor did they stop until the owner of them came into view. He was a tall man with dreadlocks and Vice-Admiral coat. His arms were crossed and he held a unimpressed expression on his face. "Tivan..." Wade mumbled as he looked at the man. ".....Pathetic. Do you Marine dogs think you weren't being watched? We discovered you the moment you entered out base." He said with a scowl. "You-" A gunshot was fired and hit the rouge that stood beside Tivan. Looking to where it come from, it was revealed that the remaining two rifle men, the ones set on body dump duty, have arrived. "ATTACK!" Wade yelled as he ran towards Tivan. The trio of Marines did as they were told, taking advantage of the rouges' confusion to lay waste to them. The two swordsman quickly cut down two rouges while the remaining gunmen who didn't shoot (the 2 of the 3) went ahead and shot down two more rouges. Only five rouges remained, not including Tivan.

Wade lashed out with a punch as he neared Tivan. However, which the same great speed, he went and through his own, matching Wade's in strength. He then quickly tried to to do a left hook, but Wade quickly raised his own free hand and caught the fist. Both men stood there, trying to overpower each other. As they did this, more gunshots and death cries could be heard. Three more rouges were down. One Marine got his arm slashed nearly opened, but was saved by his comrade, who came in and defend him with his own sword. "Worthless bugs!" Tivan yelled, seeing that he had lost almost all of his men already. He and Wade continued their battle of domanince over each other before the suddenly jumped back, getting distance between each other. Tivan, having regained his breath, used Soru. Before Wade could have time to defend himself, he felt a strong kick on his stomach, winding him. He was knocked back and slid onto the floor, trying to catch his breath. "Government dog." Tivan said as he then used Soru once again. Before his strike could land this time, however, Wade managed to use his Tekkai, blocking a potentially devastating axe-kick from Tivan. Afterward, he quickly got up and he himself used Soru, managing to land a hard punch to Tivan's face. Knocked back by the increased blow, he managed to regain himself. He stood there, still, eyeing Wade.

"Rankyaku!"Tivan yelled as he did a roundhouse kick, creating a large crescent air blade with it. "Tekkai!" Wade would quickly yell before it could land him, defending him from the attack. Before he could do any movements, Tivan had used Soru once more and, this time, used Shigan. His finger went into Wade's left side, piercing him and causing a great amount of pain. Holding himself together, Wade grabbed onto Tivan's shoulder and used Shigan as well, piercing into his chest. Both men stood there, fingers in each others bodies (ew) and in pain. "Fire." They both heard before the Marines' rifles went off, shooting Tivan in the back. He coughed violently, blood forcing it's way up. Slowly, he fell onto the ground, bleeding profusely as the light slowly left his eyes. Tivan and his Rouge Marines were dead. Wade, injured, fell onto the ground sitting as he panted. His little squad came to him and helped him up and, within time, brought him to the rowboat to rest as they finished throwing all the bodies into the ocean. With all this violence done, they rowed back to their ship, ready to be debriefed and to go to sleep.
