Shortly after leaving the strange island, now a desolate wasteland after the Fishmen had burned the entire town to the ground, including that really nice clocktower, not to mention Isaac's formerly favourite cafe 'Las Noches', Isaac, Linedwell and Sever (now that he finally knew both of their names it was so much easier to think of them), all made their way to the Briss Kingdom. Well, firstly they rowed back away from the island where the Fishmen and Marines had been, which was definitely a good move, as more Marines had began to converge of that island to put out the flames and try and restore balance. They certainly got a surprise to see not only the Fishmen all dead, but all their comrades dead too. And news was already spreading, both from the people of the town, and from a call one of the Marines had sent out about the trio moments before Isaac himself had taken him out. But now Isaac was in Briss, having bought passage on a ship from Karate Island to the kingdom, mostly because he wanted to check it out, after hearing tales that the people there were more hostile towards tourists than Karate Island's people, and the farmers and fighters of Karate Island had genuinely taken time out of their day to glare at Isaac as he walked past. He was itching to find out what made these people so much worse. Maybe they picked fights with strangers, hoping to take anyone that 'invaded' their kingdom out before they could cause any harm or disrupt any peace that they might have had.

More than that though, the group of pirates had ventured out to Briss Kingdom because, well, they were now a crew, and no crew could do anything without a proper ship. None of this was going to work unless they had the means to travel the oceans, and the world. Every good crew had an even better ship, which is why they had come to Briss. Despite being unfriendly to everyone, hating the world outside their own, and constantly being watched by the Marines, Briss was still a much better choice of location than Karate Island. Simply for one reason: Karate Island was full of farmers and fighters, nothing more. And Linedwell, Isaac and Sever? They needed a shipwright, someone to build their ship for them, and that was what had brought them to Briss this day. Finding someone willing to build them a vessel to last the ages and survive the stormy seas of the Grand Line and possibly beyond. The only trouble was finding one capable of being nice.

Though the trip to Briss Kingdom wasn't exactly a long one, it did provide Linedwell the necessary time in which to recover a bit after their earlier ordeal. The Briss Kingdom wasn't exactly a place in which Linedwell wanted to travel to above all else, but given the needs they'd have as a new pirate crew, they'd need services that they could likely find in this place. Though it was a place highly known for its poverty, that didn't exactly mean there weren't talented people who lived in this kingdom and wouldn't mind working for the right price.

At this very moment, as a crew one of their primary goals would be to reach the Grand Line. It was a place that many people have only heard about, and never dared to dream about going...but if any of these men were to move forward on their ambitions this is a place they'd have to set their sights on. Of course this place wouldn't be as legendary as it was without being filled to the brim with danger - thus, the ship they'd hopefully acquire here would be up to the task of surviving the trip.

Though Linedwell had been to this kingdom once before, he wasn't as used to it as he potentially could have been. He found himself more disgusted with this place than the usual person would have, given his background, and because of this he wanted to leave as soon as possible. Only Linedwell's luck would have it be necessary that he travel to this place again. As the group docked, Linedwell looked in the direction of the others.

"I'm hoping one of you already has a contact here. I don't want to stay in this place longer than we have to..."

Sever certainly hadn't expected his expedition to South Blue to result in him joining a Pirate Crew, but the lure of untold profit was too much for him to pass up, so he had agreed to travel to the Briss Kingdom with Isaac and Linedwell. The newly founded crew had set out there in hopes of procuring an adequate vessel for their adventures, one that would hopefully take them to the Grand Line, where the treasures bordered on mythical and there was far more money to be made. The three men had at least seemed to agree that that was the top priority, and he and Isaac had decided to follow Linedwell in hopes that they might be able to attain some of those mythical profits. Despite Sever being the oldest, Linedwell was the captain, and Isaac was the first mate, leaving the pale faced swordsman as the "bottom of the totem pole" so to speak. That was of no concern to Sever however, as being lowest on the chain of command also meant that he would be made a target of less priority, which was exactly the role he wanted to play. It was much more his style to stay in the shadows while operating, rather than being at the forefront of things.

As they continued into the Briss Kingdom, Linedwell spoke up; stating his hopes that he or Isaac already knew someone in the area so that they could be done with their business and be on their way. Sever rolled his eyes after hearing Linedwell, knowing full well that he had no contacts here in the Briss Kingdom, let alone one that could procure them a suitable ship. "You two are the only contacts I have in the entire blue. I'd only just traveled from the North when I ran into you two at the cafe." Sever explained, exhibiting a rare moment of honesty from the normally compulsive liar. It wasn't as if he felt that being truthful with his new crew mates was important, or even inherently beneficial, it was just that he felt rather incompetent at being unable to offer something up in a field he normally excelled, and he merely gave the best excuse he could. Hopefully Isaac would be of more help, or they would be forced to start flagging down strangers at the shipyard.

It seemed none of the crew had any major skills outside of what they already knew about each other, as Linedwell asked if any of them had contacts in Briss Kingdom to help them find a shipwright. Sever was the first to speak, after rolling his eyes, bringing the bad news that he did not possess any such contacts, and nor did Isaac either. Unlike Sever and Linedwell though, Isaac had a fairly valid excuse for not having very many contacts in the Blue Sea. "I mean, don't look at me expecting much. I grew up in another Sea in the sky, and came down to the Blue Sky without choice by humans. I'm not really well known in these parts, and anyone that does know me hates me for one reason or the other. Also, people aren't fond of the wings I've noticed, because I'm different, and people hate different." Quite possibly a better excuse than Sever's, considering Isaac's other Sky hadn't been Blue at all, but White, so everyone he knew was now either dead or a part of the new crew. Contacts were going to be a thing that they would have to gain in time. No crew could start off perfect after all.

Just then, everything changed. From the skies, Isaac saw maybe ten fishmen fly down, and at the same time another squadron, perhaps twenty of them, came out from the buildings, receiving a signal from the group in the skies. Wait, fishmen? Just like on that other island, what was going on with this place? Why were so many fishmen fighting like this? What had caused this to happen. "I don't know what's happening with these bloody Fishmen, but I'll take the enemies in the sky. You guys take the ones on the ground, I'll focus the sky enemies." With that said, Isaac unbuttoned his shirt, sat it on a nearby bench, and flew up into the sky, drawing both of his pistols and firing the four rounds at four of his enemies. As they were all close to each other in the group, it took them a few moments to catch on to what was happening, and in that space of time, Isaac killed off four of them, before reloading his pistol and taking out another two, leaving only four remaining enemies, all of which were now firing bullets at Isaac. However, due to Isaac's own sight abilities. He could see these bullets individually as they came at him, and thus turning intagible to avoid them was in no way difficult, as theb bullet past through him, the Fishmen clearly confused at what was happening.

With the replies from the other two, it was plainly obvious that they wouldn't be finding any shortcuts while here in Briss Kingdom. None of them had any contacts on this island, and if they were going to find someone to get to work on a ship for them they'd have to go about it the hard way. With a sigh, Linedwell continued to make his way forward as they walked through the streets. With each step he found himself regretting his decision to ever set foot in this place again. The fact that he could have ever fallen so low as to ever need anything from this place was more humiliating than words could ever describe. Yet, before Linedwell could turn around to stress to the others that they should accomplish their goal as quickly as possible he'd noticed what appeared to be flying fish in the air.

It seemed that he hadn't been the only one to see these fish, as Isaac had already moved into action. He instructed both Linedwell and Isaac that he'd deal with the ones in the air before he flew up into the sky to meet them. Everything was moving a bit faster than Linedwell felt comfortable with, however, he didn't have any qualms with Isaac's actions. If anything or anyone ever threatened the crew, they were to be given no mercy. Yet, what Linedwell wasn't comfortable with was the frequency in which these Fishmen were appeared. In the Blues, people could go their entire lives without ever seeing one Fishman, but so far they'd seen far too many. There was something more to these encounters, and Linedwell began to wonder if these attacks were happening everywhere and not just in the South Blue.

There was more thinking that this topic deserved, but at the moment Linedwell needed to focus on the current situation. With Isaac dealing with the Fishmen in the air, it would be up to Sever and himself to deal with the ones on the ground. Luckily, this attack seemed to be of a smaller scale, and as such they hadn't been able to cause too much damage as of yet. If their crew could act fast enough, maybe they could stop these Fishmen from causing the destruction they were able to cause earlier on the previous island.

With this thought in mind, Linedwell began to rush through the crowds of Fishmen with his right hand lightly gripping Treachery's hilt. As Linedwell continued running, he was coming within range of one fishman that seemed to wield a katana as well. Before the Fishman could unsheathe his blade Linedwell had already leapt into the air. Once in the air, Linedwell managed to place his foot atop the head of the fishman before kicking off, propelling him into the direction of another Fishman that appeared to be one of those in charge. His appearance was a bit more ferocious than the others as he seemed to have the qualities of a shark, but with one draw of Linedwell's blade followed by an X-shaped vacuum of air rending him into four separate pieces he didn't exactly seem as frightening.

With his opponent dead and Linedwell now landing on the ground, he quickly unsheathed his blade once more, sending a horizontal blade of air towards the Fishmen that were now behind them, killing them just as swiftly.

As the men walked down the streets, Sever noticed that the so called "Briss Kingdom" wasn't much of a kingdom at all. It seemed run down and half abandoned, and it reminded Sever nothing of his homeland of Lvneel. He knew that not all kingdoms had equal prosperity, but the rampant poverty in this kingdom left cause for curiosity. For a moment, Sever wondered if they would even be able to find a capable shipwright in a place such as this, but his musings were cut short by a strange fluttering sound that seemed to be closing in on the group. Sever turned around to see Isaac removing his shirt and taking to the sky just as over a dozen fish men poured out of the buildings that he had assumed to be abandoned.

The frequency of dangerous encounters involving fish men was a bit high for Sever's taste, and he wondered if this was a common sort of thing in South Blue. If so, Sever had chosen the wrong ocean to start new business ventures in, but that was a decision he would be forced to lament later, as fish men quickly started to swarm around them. A few dozen civilians were milling about, but the fish men seemed to have grasped that only Sever and his companions were armed, and they had decided to focus the group. Isaac had already taken to the sky, so it was up to Sever and his new captain to take care of the fish men on the ground. Fortunately, it seemed that these fighters were not so skilled as the ones they had fought near Karate Island, and Sever was able to confidently engage them without much hesitation. Backing himself into a corner, he drew the Ruhig Dorn from its sheath and sneered at the approaching attackers. A group of five fish men charged at him, weapons at the ready and raring to fight, but just as they all converged on his position, Sever dislocated his left leg and fell to the ground as their weapons clashed together violently. From his position, he was then able to end the lives of his quintuple attackers with a quick thrust into each of their guts. One fish men seemed to have a bit thicker skin than the others and Sever was forced to pierce him with greater force before twisting the blade and letting his guts fall onto the ground. His leg still dislocated, but his body in tact, Sever began to reset his bone so that he could rejoin the fray.

While Sever was working to right his bones however, a hulking fish man looked over in his direction with a devilish glint in his eye. Sever could tell by looking at him that this fish man wasn't a pushover like the others, and he started to panic as he watched the shark featured behemoth draw closer. It would take time to reset his bone, and Sever cursed himself for utilizing such a risky technique so early in a battle. He held up Ruhig Dorn and pointed the tip at the shark man, but his sword felt rather inconsequential when faced with the massive cleaver blade that the fish man held. Sever did his best to scramble up the wall and prop himself up in the corner, his left leg still at an odd angle due to being dislocated. "A little assistance, if you please!" Sever called out loud enough for his companions to hopefully hear, but in a tone that was much calmer than one fitting for the situation.

Beginning to reload his dual flintlocks, Isaac knew he only had his rifle left, which meant one more bullet remaining, with which to deal with four different assailants. He could take out two with a rifle bullet, making the bullet ricochet off of the Fishmen's bones before it bounced towards another, and then he could take out the two remaining Fishmen without much difficulty, all he had to do was grab them both and strangle them with his Smoke powers, as he had the Marines the last time he had encountered the Fishmen. They were becoming a lot more obvious though. Isaac had heard tales of the 'men of the Blue Sea' while up in Skypiea of course, just as the humans heard tales of his kind, but Fishmen were more commonly found in the Grand Line, not in the four Blues before, the four 'Novice Seas' if you will. Something must have happened to stir the Fishmen into such a frenzy that they would attack a Blue, perhaps all of them. perhaps this was not the only place they were attacking. Isaac honestly didn't know, but if the Fishmen were attacking other towns in other Blues just like this one, Isaac prayed for the people there, and hoped that strong men like Isaac, Linedwell and Sever could be there also to help them.

However, Isaac's plan to take out two of the Fishmen while air borne fell through when he heard Sever's call for assistance. Looking down at him, he seemed wounded, but not necessarily in pain, almost like he had caused it himself, which Isaac really didn't know what to think of. He knew Sever very little, but from what he did know he knew that Sever was a right weirdo when it came to tactics in combat, and Isaac also saw the massive Shark fishmen looming over him, ready to strike. Without thought, or hesitation, Isaac pulled out his rifle, and fired instantly, straight at the shark's head, which hit and caused his entire head to explode into blood and brain matter. Isaac couldn't help but giggle, as the first interaction with the Fishmen had caused a woman's head to explode just as this man's had, but Isaac had not been paying attention to his surroundings and, because of that, he felt three impacts on his skin: one bullet going straight through his shoulder, one bullet lodging itself in his ribs, and one hammer swing from one of the Fishmen, who swung it at Isaac as it collided with his jaw, breaking it so soon after Isaac had fixed it following his last Fishman assault. This was getting pretty annoying, but Isaac then focused on reloading his pistols as he avoiding the rest of the attacks, the bullets once again fading through his intangible skin as he spat blood in his enemies' eyes.

While Linedwell dealt with his opponents, he managed to catch Sever's request for assistance. However, before he could reach Sever he'd also seen that Issac appeared to be closing the distance between the both of them. With Isaac currently moving towards Sever's position it was obvious that he decided to help out. Linedwell wasn't exactly sure what Sever's situation was, but given the calm tone in which he called out in, Lindwell didn't exactly get the vibe that the situation was one that would require both of them to rush to his side. Thus, Linedwell decided to continue his fight against the remaining Fishmen and help the others by reducing the numbers of their opponents even further.

With his current enemies vanquished, Linedwell continued to move forward toward the other group of Fishmen. This group seemed as threatening as the one before...which wasn't much at all. The faster they could deal with this threat and move on, the better things would be for everyone. After all, they'd only set sail for this island in order to escape the happenings that occurred on the previous island. If they were too cause too much destruction and cause too much of a scene, the Marines that were already quite close would be directed to this location and before long they'd be embroiled in the same situation they'd just escaped.

Linedwell ran at full speed in the direction of this second group of Fishmen with the intent of finally clearing them out, only to feel his arm being tugged and within an instant he was flying off into the air. It appeared one of the Fishmen riders could tell what Linedwell was attempting to do and decided to get in the way by dragging Linedwell into the air with him.

Sever felt relief wash over him as he saw Isaac above in the air pulling out his rifle and aiming at the fish man. He gave a smile and a wave to the shark like enemy, which left a confused expression on the fish man's face that was instantly decimated by Isaac's rifle bullet. A bit of blood spattered onto Sever's coat, but it was likely much less than what would have seeped into the fabric had he continued his fight with that shark fish man. The lumbering giant fell to the ground, now lacking a head, and Sever was free to continue as he wished. The remaining fish men on the ground seemed to be occupied with Linedwell, and the mound of corpses in front of him gave him at least partial cover from an aerial assault. So, with a quick acknowledging hand wave to Isaac, Sever went back to setting his bone back into place. It wasn't painful or difficult, but he had to be careful to align the socket correctly or he could end up doing more harm than good to himself.

After a few moments, Sever had set the bone correctly and he gave it a quick test to ensure he had regained full use of it. As he began to stand up however, he suddenly felt a searing sensation in his left arm and lower back. Raising his arm tentatively to examine the damage, he saw that there was a bullet still lodged in his skin, the small sphere still sticking out of the flesh. There was a slight stream of blood trickling down his arm, but the injury was not severe. Sever plucked it out, and assuming the pain on his back was caused by the same sort of projectile, he reached around, and after some painful prodding, was able to remove that one as well. He looked around and up to see that several of the flying fish were still in the air with their riders, and Isaac was looking somewhat worse for wear. He hoped that the flying marksman would be able to handle the opponents in the sky as he had said, but there was little Sever could do to help with his particular skill set. So, thinking of what he could do, he looked over to see Linedwell charging towards the final group of fish men on land, and he moved in to assist.

Despite his prior injuries which resulted in his mouth filling up with blood relatively quickly, isaac had been perfectly able to avoid the rest of the attacks from the Fishmen, being able to see each bullet as it came close to him, allowing him to just reform his body around it, a unique trick to Logia Devil Fruit eater. However, it seemed time had been on his side, as he had managed to reload both of his pistols, giving him four bullets to deal with the four enemies in front of him. That was the most basic approach, but it was not the one with which Isaac would proceed. He flew close to the group, and fired his first and second bullet from each gun at two of the heads of the Fishmen, killing them and leaving two more flying enemies for him to deal with, both of which were currently hovering directrly in front of him, with one in front of the other. Perfect conditions for him, as he fired one bullet at one, getting the angle just right to cause it to ricochet off and hit the other one, both impacts hitting vital areas and killing them both, leaving Isaac with one more bullet. It was at this time Isaac looked down to see Sever's wave of gratitude, but he also saw Linedwell begin to attack the remaining Fishmen, one of whom had reached too close to Linedwell for the swordsman to notice. Flying down as fast as his weight and speed could carry him, he flew down and shot the final Fishman in the head just after he threw Linedwell. Now there were only half a dozen Fishmen left, and Isaac was out of bullets, so he was just going to let Linedwell and Sever handle the remaining foes. He knew they were both capable, and besides, his jaw was really hurting by now, as blood filled his mouth and speaking was nigh impossible by this point, but he doubted he'd need to do much speaking after this was finished. And then, after the last Fishmen were dead, he could go find himself a doctor, he was definitely going to need one.

Linedwell struggled as much as possible to fight his way out of the grasp of the fishman that rode atop the flying fish, but since he was being dragged by his wrist through the air he couldn't muster enough strength to force himself free. It was only then that Linedwell remembered he had access to a sword. Using his left hand, Linedwell was able to carefully unsheathe his blade before sinking it into the soft underbelly of the flying fish. It caused the fish to rear up, the violent nature of this action causing the Fishman to lose his grip on Linedwell and drop him. Luckily, Linedwell was being dropped over the remaining Fishmen. His goal would be to take out this group and then get revenge on the flying fishman that had attacked him, but unbeknownst to Linedwell as soon as the flying fishman released his grip on Linedwell, Isaac had been able to kill him almost immediately.

While falling over the group, Linedwell's right hand held onto the hilt of his blade tightly. In order to take out the remaining forces quickly, Linedwell would strain himself in order to make use of two techniques he'd only just used previously. Linedwell usually avoided straining himself to this degree and allowing himself to rest after using two high tier techniques in succession, but right now they needed to end this battle quickly and move on before things grew far worse for them. With three quick successive slashes, Linedwell was able to send an X-shaped vacuum of sharp air as well as a horizontal slice of air towards the large group of fishmen. As the air attacks landed, it quickly cut the fishmen into multiple pieces as well as cutting deep into the ground.

As Sever was moving in to assist Linedwell, he saw the captain grabbed by one of the flying fish men and watched him as he was dragged into the air. The image of the powerful and fierce younger man being lifted off of the ground so unexpectedly was almost comical, and Sever let out a short involuntary snort. Regaining his composure immediately afterwards though, he thought of what he might be able to do to assist. Once again however, Sever could do little from so far away, and he was forced to leave it to Linedwell to save himself. There seemed to be no problems with that, as Linedwell then gutted the flying fish that his attacker rode, and descended back onto the group of fish men that he had originally been charging. Sever heard another gun shot in the air and saw the flying fish and its rider plummet to the ground into the heap of corpses. There were still flying fish men in the air, but there was still nothing that Sever could do about them. So, leaving the remainder of the aerial assailants to Isaac, Sever returned to backing up the captain on the ground. Such an action hardly seemed necessary however, as while the captain was falling he was able to cut through the air and slice the remaining fish men into pieces before he had even touched the ground. Sever let out a sigh of relief and slight disappointment as he stepped away from the carnage and sheathed his sword. All of the fish men had been eliminated, so there was no need for him to continue running.

Sever couldn't help but be impressed at the mighty shows of strength both his companions had just shown, and he felt as if his skills were a bit inadequate when measured up to the two of them. Even if his sword skills were better than most, he just couldn't keep up with the raw destructive power of the two young men he had fallen in with. Sever had never been one to lust after such power before, but if they were to head into the Grand Line eventually, he thought that perhaps he would need to sharpen his own skills. He wasn't particularly keen on being thought of as the weak link in the crew, but as he was now he could hardly deny such accusations.  Still, as long as he was capable of making a profit and living long enough to spend his spoils, he'd be content with trailing a bit behind these two powerhouses. Although, he admonished that if he planned on continuing living while traveling the Grand Line as a pirate, getting a stronger might be essential. Sever thought of all this pensively as he waited for his companions to group back up, watching as Linedwell fell to the ground and Isaac continued to fly in the air.

Moments before using his last bullet to free Linedwell, the Captain freed himself, but he had not managed to kill his annoyance of an enemy, as such Isaac still fired off his last bullet to end the fighting on his part. After that, it only took a few seconds for Linedwell to do the same, as he fell directly above the Fishmen, using his weight to his advantage and slashing down a large attack to wipe the remaining foes out completely. And that was that, they were finished their fights for the day. All their enemies had been beaten for the day. Hopefully that would be the end of Fishman activities for the time being, but a niggling feeling in the back of Isaac's compelled him to think it would not be the case. As of yet, thewy had only fought some small Fishmen, with maybe a commander here and there, but even Commanders had Generals, Isaac felt like their was still another boss controlling everything. Pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

Either way, it didn'tmatter that much at this point. For now, if nothing else, the Fishmen armies invading Briss were destroyed and now Isaac, as he rejoined Sever and Linedwell, decided it was time to get back on track. "Well, that's them all dealt with, again. Anyone else seeing a pattern here in the number of Fishmen popping up? Ah well, either way let's go try and find us a bloody shipwright, get a ship, and start having some real fun." The moment Isaac would have a moment to himself, he would pray for the men he had killed today, each and every single one of them. The good thing about being as Marksman was he could always calculate how many he had killed from the bullets he had lost, unlike Linedwell who, with his blade, mercilessly killed without hesitation or any thought. It was easier to work out how many had been shot by you than how many you had cut down, but sometimes it was necessary to lose yourself in the blood.

Taking a quick glance around after dealing with the group in front of him and Linedwell soon realized that the rest of their opponent had been swiftly dealt with while his back was turned. Though Linedwell wanted to deal with these enemies as quickly as possible, he couldn't help feeling a little bit disappointed that he hadn't been able to kill a few more of these opponents before moving on. With a slight shrug, Linedwell sheathed Treachery once more. He could tell that the blade at least seemed to be satisfied with some of the blood it had been allowed to consume during this brief scuffle, thus, it would likely allow Linedwell to go unharmed for the rest of the day.

Turning around now, Linedwell began to walk towards the other two in his crew. Sever seemed to be somewhat in thought, but Isaac almost immediately began to speak on his thoughts on the matter, and each one seemed to mirror how Linedwell was beginning to feel about the situation. Earlier he'd also thought it strange that they'd run into these Fishmen yet again in Briss. At first Linedwell merely assumed maybe they'd stumbled into the middle of a scuffle between Marines and a Fishman crew on the previous island, but now this seemed like something else entirely. Was this a war?

"I'm not sure...but yeah, let's find that shipwright. Whatever's going on, we have no business getting in the middle of it again."

With that said, Linedwell waved his hand for the others to follow. The last time he visited this place he'd been able to find a bar that seemed to be the perfect place to get some intel. Hopefully they'd have a few names to hand them when it came to looking for a shipwright.
