The South Blue. This would be Gerard's first trip outside of his home ocean, and he would be lying if he said he wasn't excited. Though today was not a casual cruise. Gerard was here for a reason.

After unlocking the magical force that was Haki, Gerard had attempted to track own his shichibukai partner Nico Moretti. After all, what good was a partnership if nobody benefitted? He then learned that he had set off for the Calm Belt and, well, that's when problems cropped up. The Calm Belt was a dangerous patch of ocean, populated by Seakings. And even though the Grand Steamer was a fine ship, a Seaking would rip her apart. Unless she was equipped with a seastone hull.

And that's why he was here. To get seastone. Sure, it sounded weird for a Devil Fruit user to actively seek it out, but he couldn't find anywhere in the North Blue who could do t. So, if the North couldn't help, try the south.

"We're approaching the Briss Kingdom now," Alisa informed him as they approached the island. With no leads to go off of, they decided to try each island until they found what they were looking for. From a distance, the island looked respectable enough. Well built, clean, a place that was sure to have the resources that Gerard sought. As the gas man stood on the deck, he looked over the island with an approving eye.

Slowly, the Grand Steamer pulled into port.

This wasn't the time to be fancy she thought as she pulled on top of her giant-like ship again that had handled the vast oceans of the world for a long time and that was recently upgraded with an equally idiotic name. She had been called over to investigate something over at the Briss Kingdom which was in the same ocean even though she had been located at Shadowmoon with her new underling, Puck. Though this was urgent as she got tasked with more kidnappings.

As she cruised the ocean she started to realize that place might actually be close to a day off for her, it was a blue after all so if anything the opponents that she would go against might not be the toughest sharks on the sea and if nothing else she might actually find someone in her life after all seeing as how confused her body had become by sitting on that island for too long, not because she thought she could get someone but still. "I'M NEVER GETTING ANYONE IN MY LIFE AM I!!" she screamcried as she sat on the boats wooden flooring before a few of her grunt like companions came to her, she hadn't brought many at all for this since she left the others with Puck for the moment being, she needed them more than her after all.

"YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL CAPTAIN, YOU DESERVE SOMEONE" they all screamed as in a quire towards her, which slowly encouraged her back. "Re...Really? *Sniff*
You guys really think so?" she said towards her dazzling companions before she heard someone on the upper region of the ship rally everyone with two simple words. "Land Ahoy!!!

Docking at the port hadn't been any real issue. Though Gerard couldn't help but feel that something was...off...about the place. When they docked, the port master seemed a bit on the hostile side, giving them sharp looks as he accepted their money and signed them in. They didn't look like pirates, did they?

Alisa seemed to share Gerard's sentiments about the place. Her eyes were narrowed as she looked around the area. Gerard could tell she was using her haki to scope out the place.

"Something's wrong here..." she said, her voice lacking its usual warmth. Gerard glanced up at his long legged companion. "Wrong how? Pirates? Revolutionaries?" Alisa shook her head. "Nothing like that. There's just an inherent sense of wrongness about this place. I'm sensing some rather...twisted auras about these docks alone."

That wasn't reassuring in the slightest. As the pair of them stepped off of the ship, they kept an eye out for any suspicious activity. Maybe they should try another place.

Then Gerard saw it. Not that far off, another ship was coming in, waving a marine flag. What were marines doing here? Granted, they could go as they please, but coupled with the...wrongness of this place, it couldn't be a coincidence. "Wait here," he whispered as he slowly shifted into a gaseous form and disappeared amongst the crates around the docks. Gerard was curious to see what the marines here were up to.

It was time to put his old thieving talents to good use.

As her ship was getting closer and closer to land she started to think that maybe a true love was out there, maybe someone deserving her body and infinite knowledge was out there somewhere. As they got closer and closer they started to prepare to dock. "Alright everyone, lets get to it, this place seems like the perfect place for a vacation as well so remind me about it at the end of this mission will ya?" she said towards her companions which prepared the ship as she sat on the railing on the top most part of her ship.

"YES CAP'" they screamed in a quire again, it seemed like they actually liked being under her flag, which was a good thing of course but it really wasn't what she had thought about how her life would end up. She really didn't want to become a marine after all, but is mostly just in it to get a good paygrade and live a life without worries, not because it doesn't come with it but it's better than being homeless she had thought all those years ago.

Plus this was an easy way for her to find stronger opponents than herself, or well easier than not being a marine. And since she was pushing to become the worlds strongest martial artist and or woman she really needed this, she needed people to fight and to persue as it would help her to find the strongest, and also help her to beat them as she climbed the ladder of the ranks in the marine corporation. As they docked she jumped down on to the wooden flooring and let her grunts do the work setting themselves up. "I'm gonna go check out the town, good luck setting everything up boys!" she said with a charming tone as she walked onto the docks and started to walk into town.

Keeping himself hidden amongst the crates littered around the docks, and assuming his gaseous form, Gerard was able to get himself nice and close to the marine ship as it docked in. He could hopefully make out what was going on with them, and why they were here.

Then he saw her. A rather attractive woman, leaping down from the ship and landing rather gracefully on the dock. It didn't take a genius to figure out that she was the one in charge, especially when she called out to the others to mind the ship. Guess it wasn't anything too big if they all weren't flooding off of the ship with their swords drawn.

Still, there was something wrong with this place, and Gerard couldn't call himself a gentleman if he allowed a beautiful woman to roam a place like this unescorted. And so, Gerard silently followed the lovely marine. Consider him a guardian angel of sorts.

-----%×%-----

Meanwhile, Alisa looked around, scanning the docks. What was with this place? What was this sense of wrongness she felt? She hoped Gerard would be ok.

"E-Excuse me, Miss?" Alisa turned to see an old man in tattered clothing. A begger? "Could you possibly spare some beli for an old man?" Alisa was a tender hearted soul, and gave the man a warm smile. "Of course," she said, pulling some beli from her pocket and squatting down to hand it to him.

She had let her guard down, and failed to notice the man behind her until the blow struck the back of her head.

She walked further and further, passing crates, small stands with people selling items of all types and people that seemed to be equipped for some heavy tourist attractions as that was the most common type of man she saw when she was standing there at the summer like weather of the island. She was actually sweating a bit because of her full black attire and started to think about it now that she might needed to change some stuff but no matter, she had already gone out here and it would be too awkward to go back to change outfit after all!

She had started to feel something was wrong on the island too, this place seemed way too... happy and jolly, she was used to warlike criterias after all, fighting to the last breath. Either that or she didn't know what a vacation was, because this place seemed almost too good to not be hiding something, she was here for kidnappings after all, but tourist attractions was usually filled with that kind of stuff for scamming purposes, but this place seemed.. different. Her first priority was to find out if there had been any weird occurences on the island after all thus she walked further and further into town. She didn't find a lot, other than people claiming some sort of cult lived on the island, and it took her a long time before she even found that out.

But if it was indeed cults on this island that took people hostage and then did whatever they thought was needed that was truly horrifying, but the first thing she thought about wasn't that, it was that there surely must be someone strong behind that thing as well, someone worthy of her strength... Her nose started bleeding as she thought about it, she might actually be a bit more crazy in fighting than she had stated all these years, maybe she had grown that much to it that it had almost became something that she thought was needed in her life. Nevertheless she started getting more clues from the surrounding villagers of the whereabouts from these fanatics. Maybe it was a trap, maybe it wasn't, but she wanted to fight something now, so if that was going to bring her closer to that then hell these guys could give her any sort of location.

So far so good. Nothing disasterous was happening, and the woman seemed to be king around, something about a cult? What was this about cults on the island? The residence seemed to be all smiles and denied it, but Gerard had seen those fake smiles before. These guys were lying through their teeth.

Guess that explains the strangeness of this place.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed something moving into a nearby alleyway. Breaking off from the woman for a moment, the gas man slipped over towards the alleyway, keeping out of sight as he put himself in a position above to see what was going on.

Below him, three men in dark red robes were struggling against a single man, the victim struggling as his mouth was gagged. Now, Gerard wasn't going to pretend to be an expert on cults, but if those weren't cultists, then Gerard was a Seaking.

The marine was still nearby, and while Gerard could take these goons by himself, he figured he could give her a hand with her little cult hunt. Unbeknownst to the cultists below, a cane pointed out from the ball of gas hovering over them. And fired.

One of the cultists dropped like a stone. Another looked around wildly, drawing a dagger while the last held knife to their captive. Hopefully, that gunshot should have attracted the lovely marine's attention. If not, well, Gerard was in a position to take some cultist trash out. They still hadn't seen him yet.

Hearing a gun shot she immediately got cautious, hearing about cults then hearing gun shots wasn't the best day for her. As she started to understand that it was in her nearby vicinity she started to go towards a close alleyway, seeing something that seemed to be smoke pour out of the alleyway, was this someone that used poisonous gases? Cause in that case she would have the upper hand. She started making her way over there quickly running towards the darkness.

"WHO'S THERE? SHOW YOURSELVES!" She screamed towards the inner sanctum of the alleyway. She didn't see a lot when she first stared into it because of her eyes adjusting but soon saw a few men that were in alert to say the least, one having drawn a knife. One of them was down though and one was gagged, this seemed like cultists alright, but someone had taken one out already. As she turned around to look she was greeted by gas that turned slowly into a .. man? Had this person eaten a devil fruit or something? As he got more and more complete she started to think about it maybe being something like a gas logia or maybe just colored smoke?

He was wearing quite the outfit, making him quite the dandy man. He had blone like hair with a determined look on his face. He was also equipped with a cane. When they both met eyes wise she immediately blushed and tried to look away from him, but he kept dashing around her to greet her with his beautiful and precious eyes. "Did you do this? Who are you?!" she said with a tint of distress to her voice as she looked and pointed towards the men in the dark alley.

As Gerard slowly formed back into his human state, he couldn't help but notice the marine blushing and looking away. Was she shy? The gas man couldn't help but find it amusing. As she tried to look away, Gerard kept moving in front of her, a playful smile on his face. "Well hello there."

Then she asked if he had done this, he looked back at the briefly forgotten cultists, who were freaked out at the sight of the gas man. "Oh es, of course. Give me a moment." He held out a hand and a suddenly burst of gas launched him back towards the cultist with the hostage. His body passed right through them, reforming behind him. His cane looped around the knife wielding arm, yanking it back before laying into the cultist with his cane, soon sending him to the floor and freeing the hostage, who proceeded to flee.

The remaining cultist tried to strike at Gerard with his dagger, but the weapon simply went through him. Gerard paused to give the man a confident smirk, before punching him in the stomach. The cultist stumbled back, dropping his knife, before Gerard struck him on the side of the head with his cane. The cultist fell back against the wall, and suddenly felt Gerard's cane pressing against his throat, holding him in place.

With the cultists dispatched, Gerard turned his attention to the beautiful marine and tipped his hat. "Gerard Sinnet at your service."

"AAAWH that was really cool! Are you made of gas? Gas fruit right? Did I call it? I think I called it!" she said as she drifted away from the topic, she was a vice admiral after all, she was supposed to look determined and awesome, and stand strong on the topic and the mission. After clearing her throat she opens her mouth again. "Sorry, sorry... you can help me with this if you don't mind, I need to find out more about this cult, if nothing else you can always join, I'll split my rewards from it with you!" she says towards the most dapper man she had ever seen before blushing her cheeks again.

"In case you're up for it we need to interrogate this guy, we gotta get the location of the rest of them." she said to Gerard, she said as she kept her abilities a secret, it would blow if he knew her weaknesses and such after all. "And by the way, names Sara, Sara Dooperman." she said towards the gas man. She hadn't really thought to discover a strong logia such as himself in this sea seeing as its one of the blues, but she thought that surprises and mysterious discoveries happen every day so that might not be something totally bad. Especially if she could get him as an ally.

As she finished her sentence she wandered over to the last cultist, it was time to get this person to speak, after all these were only a few men in a probably a lot larger scheme, and she needed to take them all out!

Gerard chuckled at her enthusiasm before reeling it back in. "Yep, you got it. The Gasu Gasu no Mi." It seemed she was knowledgable of Devil Fruits, though that should be expected by now. She asked if he was willing to assist him and the gas man nodded. "Anything for a lovely lady such as yourself." he said, with a smile, half sincere and half to get a rise out of her.

Then came the suggestion of questioning the cultist Gerard had pinned. The dapper man turned to the cultist and smirked. "Well, you heard the lady. Where are the rest of your group? And before you answer I should inform you..." He flipped the cane so the long end was pointed at him, "It's also a gun."

-----%20 minutes later%-----

It hadn't been hard to get the information out of him, and the dynamic duo now found themselves underground, in the surprisingly clean sewers. Their prisoner had told them that there was a gathering going on underground. As they walked through the underground tunnels, Gerard spotted a wall with a red marking on it.

"I think this is it. he said in a hushed one. He pressed himself against the wall and began pushing, unfortunately getting dirt on his suit. The wall slowly slid open, leading to an alcove overlooking a massive stone chamber, decked out like some twisted church. And below them, dressed in blood red, were gathered a large amount of cultists.

"Hmm, well then you ready Gerard? Time to kick some cultist ass!" she said with a hushed tone getting gradually stronger and louder the further she said the sentence. She was ready to beat these guys out of existence for all she cared as she knew that they wouldn't care about her if the roles were switched. It was time for no mercy mode right here. "We'll save the leader if we find them alright? Everyone else is fair game." she said towards the dastardly dapper man as she looked into the stone chamber and saw groups of cultist in the massive sanctum.

She was ready for this, it had been not that long ago since her latest combat encounter, but that didn't mean that she didn't want more of course. She hadn't used her poisonous abilities a lot recently, but this might be the perfect place to do just that. As her eyes turned into a glowing red color and her foreheads veins started popping up a green aura began to lit around her, glowing in a strong passionate color. She dashed quickly into the group and merely moments later in a carpet like fashion a poison unfolded from the ground out in a 50 meter diameter around her. Seconds later the cultist screamed as they felt the effects of the poison injecting their bodies making them bleed externally and them having muscle cramps with any other effects that the poison could possibly inflict.

They slowed down heavily and didn't see any good after that, and if they would stay in it they could easily die. "Sorry guys, how about you guys get your.. oh yeah, uuuhm, someone get him out here, your leader guy or whatever, I'm not good with confrontation okay?" she said as she waited on their boss man, or at least more of these cowardly creatures as they screeched in pain. Some of them had avoided the wave though and were still standing, but it wasn't many of them so to speak as the other one was fraying away at the hit ones clothes, skin, and bone as they laid in the wastes.

"That... took a bit too much of me away Gerard, could you take the rest? I gotta save myself for their big guy!" she said towards her newly found companion.

Gerard watched as Sara dove down into the group of cultists, and suddenly hell seemed to break loose on them. A poison spread about the chamber engulfing most of them, leading them screaming in agony. Gerard watched, a little surprised by it all. He quietly hopped down there, using his gas powers to keep him hovering over the carpet of poison. Normally he was immune to poison gasses, but he wasn't so sure about liquids. No sense in getting himself poisoned and causing her unneeded distress.

"Let me guess. Poison Devil fruit?" he asked, drawing his cane and firing at the remaining cultists. This was like shooting fish in a barrel. They couldn't come any closer due to the poison, and they had no means of firing back at him.

"Enough of this!"

Gerard looked over as a curtain was drawn back, and a large man in red armour stepped forward, each step accompanied by a heavy clank. In one hand, he gripped a large, rather gruesome sword. In the other, he held onto, much to Gerard's surprised, a tied up Alisa. The long legged woman glared at the mad priest, before looking at Gerard with a hopeful expression.

The priest held his sword out and pointed at them. "I will not allow you heretics to defile this ceremony! We will sacrifice this long legged abomination to the Great One!"

Gerard snarled angrily. "There is no way in hell I'm letting you sacrifice MY NAVIGATOR to some figment of your imagination!" He pointed his cane gun at the armoured cultist. This mad son of a bitch was going down!

"That's right Dandy, I ate the Doku Doku no Mi becoming a poison woman! But hey isn't every woman poisonous in a way of their own?" she said as she looked calm and composed before turning her mode off her senses returning to her in a more stable way before seeing a large man coming out of a drapery as Gerard had called for him as well and not just her. This place had been awfully weird after all, but seeing as Gerard took out the last few ones he seemed like the last one left to be cleared out before being able to report to headquarters about this island.

"You were one ugly dude, you know that right?" she said towards the screaming man standing on top of a ceremony like altar with a woman before looking towards Gerard and whispering to him. "Psh, Gerard? I'll go for the attack to break the armor of his and you grab the woman out of there, sounds like a plan?" she says before assuming that he accepted the offer and charging towards the quite large and sturdy man. As she jumped into the air and flew towards the man by jumping towards him the sturdy leader grabbed and swayed his greatsword as if he was charging an attack towards her.

As she got closer and closer she noticed that the girl was gone thus she started to prepare her right fist by charging it backwards. It was time to send this thing to hell and back after all! As he swung towards her she jabbed the sword for a meeting between them before the sword ultimately broke sending a shockwave knocking her back into the cathedral like room. As she got up again feeling a lot more tired she destined herself to at least hurt him before letting Gerard finish it. She charged towards him albeit slower this time to do the same move again, and she was going to get it off whatever this person did next!

She jumped towards him again and he feared that this might be it and thus started to retreat in a fashion but she flew in a speed towards him that made it a lot easier for her to hit it, going straight through his left shoulder before taking the arm out again and retreating towards the back end of the church tired as hell, but for now that would probably help Gerard finish it to an extent at least. The hit went through his armor and straight through the shoulder making the rest of the armor break asunder as a shockwave like effect.

"Gerard... finish this would... ya?" she said as she laid down to rest to get ready for if he needed any backup by the poison woman moments later, because she didn't know his strength after all, so she needed to get a grasp of it in case they were going anywhere else anytime later, in case she needed his help in the future or anything like it.
