1Soru Soru no Mi: Curse of the Devil Empty Soru Soru no Mi: Curse of the Devil on Wed Dec 28, 2016 11:56 am

Priority: Secondary
Fighting Style: Devil Fruit
Skill Set Name: Soru Soru no Mi: Curse of the Devil
Skill Set Information: The Soru Soru no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to freely interact with and manipulate human souls.

The fruit's power of soul manipulation, consists of drawing out and manifesting fragments of humans' souls into a somewhat ghostly but tangible, light-colored substance, which the user extracts by grabbing at the substance which surrounds the body and pulling it out or touching the body itself and extracting the soul. This is effectively and referred to as stealing from a target's very lifespan, the amount of which being determined by the user, up to tens of years at once and down to the second if desired. Thus, if they lose too many years at once, victims may be killed instantaneously. However, the extraction process does not seem to be painful to its victims, at least when they are only losing smaller portions of lifespan.

By infusing objects and living animals with soul fragments, the user can "humanize" them. Recipients (which are referred to as "homies") develop human-like intelligence, with inanimate objects gaining a life of their own in the first place, and undergo transformations to more closely resemble humans; though the only prominent change in objects are their human faces, animals will also have their general physique affected to varying degrees, such as becoming able to stand up-right. If a Vivre Card is infused with a soul fragment, instead of becoming anthropomorphic, the card will exude a bright aura which only homies can see.

In addition to stealing and using the souls of other people, the user may manifest their own soul into living fragments (which are referred to as "incarnations") in the form of roughly human-sized, black, somewhat humanoid blobs, which possess limited sentience and can absorb people's souls as well.

The power to infuse soul fragments cannot be used on other humans or on corpses. Furthermore, the emotional state of a target affects the user's ability to take their lifespan away in a currently unexplained manner; for example, if they display fear of the user, they are rendered more vulnerable to having their lifespan stolen. Similarly, if homies experience extreme fear, they instantly die and wither away. Homies cannot attack anything infused with the user's soul, even if such an object is in the hands of an enemy. Otherwise, the user experiences the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses to water and Seastone.

Passives:

  • Incarnations:  are large, black, humanoid blobs who stand at roughly 7 ft tall and weight around 3 pounds. They are made from pieces of the user's powerful soul, and are themselves capable of extracting other people's souls. They are intelligent enough to be capable of human speech and understand basic orders. The amount of Incarnations able to be created is based on the tier of the user. (Tier 1= 5, Tier 2=10, Tier 3= 15) It costs 10 Stamina per Incarnate made with no upkeep. These can only be used in the topics the user are in. They can only extract souls and implant them into other things. Their attributes are equated to the attributes of the user.

  • Homies: The homies are the result of infusing the collected soul portions into animals and objects, who are subsequently anthropomorphized. The fragments cannot revive dead humans or enter living ones. Also, they are unable to approach something infused with the user's own soul besides other Homies and Incarnations, the incredible presence and power of which only they can sense.

By infusing objects and living animals with soul fragments, the user can "humanize" them. Recipients develop human-like intelligence, with inanimate objects gaining a life of their own in the first place, and undergo transformations to more closely resemble humans; though the only prominent change in objects are their human faces, animals will also have their general physique affected to varying degrees, such as becoming able to stand up-right. If a Vivre is infused with a soul fragment, instead of becoming anthropomorphic, the card will exude a bright aura which only homies can see. All homie are to be registered as NPCs. Their tier always being a tier below the user's at the time of creation. So if a user is T2 a homie is T1.

Any inanimate object imaginable can become a homie after having a piece of a soul infused into it regardless of shape or size, as shown with the living furniture, ships and talking buildings that inhabit Totto Land from the Anime. Food of all types can also become homies, however the majority of food-based homies seen are all sweets and pastries which is fitting considering Totto Land's sweet environment. Plant life, pieces of the ground, mountains and even meteorological phenomenons (like clouds, rainbows and what seems to be a miniature living sun) can become homies as well. Materials that were manifested via other Devil Fruit powers (such as the biscuits conjured up by the Bisu Bisu no Mi) can also be turned into homies, as seen with Charlotte Cracker's Biscuit Soldiers which serve as guards on Whole Cake Island.

To implant a soul in a Homie costs 10 Stamina per soul implanted. Once implanted, that Homie will be alive until killed or having the soul extracted by the user. As well as being created from the souls of others. Homies can be created using the soul of the user as well, but this requiring double the stamina cost. When homies are created they must obey everything the user tells them. Although they can freely move about and interact on their own. Homies have the Strength, Speed, Perception, Durability based on what tier they are. T1-2 is 1 in all. T3-4 is 2 in all. T5-6 is 3 in all.

  • Soul Strength: The user due to all of the souls in their body receives +1 strength

Skillset Strengths:

  • The user is capable of turning literally anything besides living and dead bodies into homies.

Skillset Weaknesses:

  • The power to infuse soul fragments cannot be used on other humans or on corpses.
  • Similarly, if homies experience extreme fear, they instantly die and wither away.
  • Homies cannot attack anything infused with the user's soul, even if such an object is in the hands of an enemy.

Notes:
Everyone in the One Piece World has a set amount of souls according to their tier. Not meaning that they literally having more than one soul. This is just used to balance the devil fruit.

Tier 1- 10 Souls
Tier 2- 20 Souls
Tier 3- 30 Souls
Tier 4- 40 Souls
Tier 5- 50 Souls
Tier 6- 60 Souls

Each soul or souls taken by the user are instantly absorbed into the user's body. Incarnates are able to use the skills that absorb souls. Taking the stamima required from the user's stamina pool. In order to extract a soul you need to be in at least touching distance or touching. When not touching you simply making gestures as if you are extracting something.

75% of souls extracted is -2 in all attributes
50% of souls extracted is -1.5 in all attributes
25% of souls extracted is -1 in all attributes.
If all souls are extracted the user will instantly die these attribute deductions last forever.

Souls do not restart after each tier up. For example if you are Tier 1 and have 10 souls and 9 are taken. At T2 you would only have 11 because the whole 10 that was suppose to carry over to make 20 was taken away.

It is almost impossible to tell when your soul is taken away from you unless a large amount is taken at a single time. A large amount would be considered over 35.

When the user dies or a homie dies. Those closest to the death of the user or homie will obtain the souls IF they are missing souls. If a homie dies the soul will automatically be transferred to the user.

  • Speed
  • Perception
  • Durability and Strength
