Yomi had been spending a decent amount of time undercover in this city checking it for weaknesses and probing the strength of the marines. It was clear they weren't messing around after the fiasco that happened near the red line recently, and that made her job harder than normal. If she hadn't been getting paid she would have just called it quits, but alas after helping the town a bit she felt that she at least owed it to her partner to get her work finished. This meant that she had been busy finding out all the little parts of the town that could be used to the revolutions advantage, though taking this town would require a lot of planning and perseverance, and troops, all of which Yomi didn't have to spare at the moment, heck she didn't really have any pull within the revolution anyways, she just more of a specialist than a soldier.

Regardless, she wandered into a tavern after one of her nightly little incursions to spy on the base. Thankfully she was agile and fast enough to get away without being caught, but now entering a tavern with a black cloak on and sitting in the corner didn't help her at all with edge lord status, even though she really wasn't an edge lord. Though she didn't really wish to order anything, she did wish to get her bearings and to think over the situation a little bit more. What exactly could they do while a rear admiral was here, what would be the best target next, what did she have with her to analyze the zombie head and the virus. Too much to ponder about right now, oh well at least the music in here was nice.

Hure Verkehr was near the end of what most considered quite the difficult song, one that involved quite the quick guitar playing while also managing to go to the extremes with her voice. The guitar she was using was different, an electrical tone to it while she had to use a more gravelly sounding voice for some of the lyrics. It made for an interesting mix, though she would have a slightly sore throat in the morning if she didn't try to relax later.

After a long guitar solo she would get to the most fun part of the entire song, the last part that was basically yelling. "Darkness, Imprisoning Me! All that I see, Absolute Horror! I cannot Live! I can not die! Trapped in myself! Booodyyyy my holding cell! Landmine has taken my sight! Taken my speech! Taken my hearing! Taken my legs, taken my soul! Left me with life in HELL!" The last part of the guitar playing would end the gig for the night, the woman looking over to the person she had seen coming in just before she had started to do the final part of her act.

Eyes would go wide, her thoughts going straight to who they might be working for. Was it someone sent by her previous owner, the celestial dragon she had run away from? Had someone found out about the murder of the marine she had done? It was a mistake, but the marines would never believe that. They would never take her word that he had tried to rape her in her room! The woman would think about setting the tavern rented guitar down, and quickly making her way down towards her room to get her pack so she could make her inevitable escape through the exit door right near her room. She was not going to let herself be captured, she was NOT going to go back to that!

This was the weirdest song that Yomi had ever heard, honestly who in the world would like such a song? Well, it seemed that the crowd liked it, but Yomi didn't find it to be that pleasurable but she supposed different yolks for different folks. Really it was just the difference between her love of more classical music and that new stuff all of the kids seemed to enjoy. Just listen to her, all of the kids what was she an old lady? Thirty wasn't that old, she was still young, she still had the entire world in front of her! Who was she kidding between medical school and all of her current work, she was basically going to accomplish nothing in time to really save anyone. She knew that cruelty was still out there and she was one of the few people who could fight against it, by fate or luck, she was just that skilled. Perhaps it was her curse, and now that she had nothing to do but sit in this corner and think about it, she wished that she could be back home and trying to really work on what mattered to her.

Sadly, Vicktor needed her right now to formulate some plans, and really Yomi worried about the boy, he was so young and he had so much hatred within him, he would never become truly strong unless he let all of it go. She wasn't his mother, though, only his assigned partner so she couldn't do much to help in the end. Looking up from her thinking she caught a glimpse of the girl who had been singing, a mermaid that was rare out here, what exactly was she doing in a place like this? Not that it mattered to her, but Yomi was now a little curious and it probably showed on her crimson eyes.

The curious look on the suspicious person's face was all she needed to make her suspicions even worse. Maybe they really WERE here for her! It that was the case then she really needed to get out of here, and fast! The guitar would be quickly set down, her mind racing as she realized that the back door was most likely already guarded by a bunch of marines. If not marines it would be privately hired people from the Celestial Dragon that she had gotten away from! Either way she was most likely trapped in here, that would mean she had no way out unless she had a prisoner...

The woman would begin quickly walking to the one that was looking at her, panic slightly on her face as she slowly made her way towards the one she was about to use as a possible hostage to try and escape to the waters. Once she got into the water she could swim around and try to find Viktor, also known as Tall Boy, and make her grand escape by accepting his job on his ship. Hure would do her best to become the most popular ship based musician in all the world at that point. The look on her face was full of desperation, and a mix of anger and rage as well, that would most likely be construed as hostility to the person that had been curiously looking at her. It was soon to be a hilariously grave misunderstanding to the two, and who knew what would become of them both.

The curious merfolk who was singing walked through some of the crowd and seemed to give off an aura of desperation. Was someone trying to tap the fishy booty? Was long John Silver in here to fry her up? She didn't actually know right now, and she wondered why her thoughts went to that of food, maybe she was just hungry and the fish around here was actually pretty good. Actually, did merfolk eat fish? Was that considered cannibalism? Yomi certainly wouldn't eat a human... unless she was desperate, very desperate, or they were just really annoying and she was desperate. Maybe the only difference between that last one and the others was that Yomi wouldn't have regrets about it later on. What did all of this have to do with the fish woman approaching Yomi? Well nothing at first, and then it seemed and then it looked like she was getting really upset, visibly upset, like ready to punch Yomi in the face for no reason upset.

Was she an agent of the marines? Had they found out what Yomi really was? Yomi had specifically rejected the idea of a tattoo for this very reason, she didn't wish to be found out? Had the marines raided her hideout, had Vicktor kurflucked up? That was it, Vicktor probably fubbernucked this whole operation. She was probably now on her own. Sadly she didn't have any real weapons as she was wandering around naked for the most part, that is to say without firearms of steel, not without clothes, she wasn't quite that weird. Standing up Yomi readied herself for a bit of a brawl, and hopefully, through it, she could create a distraction and get out of dodge before any of the marines showed up to mess with her.

The other one did not seem to be moving very much, even though it was quite clear Hure Verkehr had obviously blown their cover. What kind of marine thought the the edgy edgelord of hoods would be the best disguise for being inside a tavern to watch a female fishman to ensure they captured her in a timely and efficient way? It was terrible, and this person should be ashamed of themselves! It wasn't until the pink haired woman could see that it was a female marine that she would stand up, obviously preparing for an ensuing brawl. Now knowing that they knew how to fight just made the fact that she was a marine even more clear in her mind. The fact that she was not drawing a weapon meant it was not for the marine she had murdered. No, if it was over that this one probably would have drawn a sword or pistol by now! That meant they were most likely here under the order of the Celestial Dragon, an even worse one!

Just as she was going close enough to swing, the woman would dive in to try and tackle the other one. "You marines will NOT take me back to him! I escaped, and I refuse to submit anymore!" The words would be said, though only loudly enough for those extremely close to overhear. There was no certainty that she could capture the other girl, but she would most definitely give it her all if it meant getting out to live freely for another day or two.

This was getting serious, this girl was yelling quite harshly at Yomi right now, but she was saying that Yomi was a marine? Wait so that meant that the girl wasn't a marine? No, it must have been a cover, what could Yomi say or do right now, she had to think. She could try and run out of here or she could stay and fight, or she could use her words. She was really good with fancy words, but only when they were from a medical textbook, but talking about the history of human medicine, with a fish no less, wouldn't help her at all. She could quote poems, or she could not be a complete flipping idiot and actually do something productive. At the end of the day, all she had was a skyrim moment.

"Never should have come here!"

No, wait, shit. Yomi didn't mean to say that at all, gosh darn it, okay she had to think fast to fix the situation right now, and raising her hands and body to fight wasn't one of them.

"I mean uh, go back to where? I have no idea what you are talking about right now, to be honest, sorry you just startled me and got my Tourette's going? Shit. See? Bob Saget! There it goes again! You wouldn't try and hurt someone with a disability would you!?"

Of course someone would hit another with a disability, that made them an easier target, darn it her plan was really going to the fishes right now.

The words that left the other's mouth were a threat. But they were right! She should never have come here! If she had not gotten this job, or even applied for it that day, she would not be here now. She would have gone out to some other island, looked for work elsewhere. No! She had to go here! Now she was about to take some random ass stranger hostage just to make an attempted escape. These were her thoughts, at least, until the woman before he made her freeze in place. She did not know what she was talking about? How would that be possible if they were a marine, or ordered by a Celestial Dragon to retrieve her? They went on about a mental disability, one that involved saying odd words and nervous tics.

Her posture went from hostile to confused, backing up a bit as she did so. "Oh my god I am so sorry I don't know what came over me please forgive me!" The words spewed from the musician's practiced mouth, tongue not missing a beat of the words as she tried to apologize in a world record breaking amount of time. An awkward cough to clear her throat was made as she thought of what to do now. "I'm sorry, the last few days have been VERY stressful. Is there ANY way I can repay you for that traumatic experience? I in no way meant to pick on someone with special needs, and don't wish to have that hanging over me nor this establishment I currently work for."

"That worked? I mean, it's no trouble at all! There is no way you could have, shit, known what actually was happening. Bitch. Anyway, if I might ask what was that song that you were singing, I haven't heard it before, and it sounded like to me like something that is more recent rather than established, vick bitch."

She felt bad about the last part of it since she didn't view vicktor as a bitch, she just ran out of ideas right there and needed and out, and he was her out. He was young anyway, he could deal with it, besides not like he was even a true man yet, there were some things the world had kept hidden from him. One day he would know, but for now, she knew that the not so little boy traveling with her was in fact still just that a boy, and in no way had ridden the fish stick, done the tango, met Cuthulu's embrace, something-something innuendo.

"Also, I was wondering, what is a merfolk like yourself doing in the blues right now? Sorry if it is rude but, cluckers, it just seems a bit odd that out of everywhere you would be here. You didn't get tangled up in that terrible mess right? The big, bitch, battle that was going on just a while ago. Well the big one that involved all the admirals, and the other one that involved the fried chicken pirates, those guys were, assholes, assholes. Real big jerks to be honest."

There was a few words that she just could not pick out from the woman, unable to hear the whispers over the noise of the tavern and the adrenaline trying to work its way out of her system. After that it was the other telling her it was no trouble before asking her what it was she was singing, before also asking questions about herself and events that had taken place in Loguetown.

"Well, the song is one I heard a few months back out on Orange Island. A band of cyborgs had come through and played it as their main song. While I don't quite have the vocal synthesizers they had, I can still do the vocals decently. As for me, I was just here looking for work and happened to find this place.  As for the battle and such, I think that all happened before I arrived. All I have heard is talk and rumors over it all, nothing more." There was a lot of information that she had left out, for obvious reasons. Just because this person was not a marine did not mean they were to be trusted. After all, anyone could be a slaver nowadays so she needed to be careful. "So what about you? What brings you to this town and very tavern? It's kind of a seedy place, though I can understand why you would want to avoid the upscale places, with your problem and all." The 'problem' was the Tourette's that she claimed to have, which was quite sad if you asked Hure.

"Well, such upscale places tend to make fun of those beneath them, jerk, it's why they tend to just... oh wait I haven't offered you a seat, uh do you want, shit, anything to drink or eat at all? You work here right, but people can still, derp, order you stuff now and again?"

Yomi was trying to be really polite as to not make much of a scene, even though still a few people were looking in her direction. Hopefully, they just thought that she was a tool or something, and not actually a revolutionary agent or the like. She wished she didn't have to skirt the line like this, but she knew that it haft to be done in order to stay safe, though if this orange island is any indication, it might be a better set up than right now if this girl still wasn't a marine or anything. She probably wasn't but the chance was alway there and Yomi didn't like the idea of walking into a death trap at all. In fact if it wasn't for her now made up a cover she would be leaving this place, hopefully, after a while, the girl would leave or head out, but Yomi really wasn't sure about that. She knew that in the end because she worked here, she probably had the most reason to stay, even if it meant not going back to someone? Who exactly would the marines take her back to anyway, that was possibly a question to try and bring up to detect if this was all an act or not.

It was sad that the upscale places everywhere tended to look down upon those born differently. It didn't matter if you had lost a leg in the war, if you were an orphan, or if you were someone born with a physical or mental disability. Either way you were treated as a second class citizen that somehow got less rights because of things that were out of your control. What Hure had not expected was to be offered a seat, as well as food or drink. After what had just happened, would it not be more of something for her to do rather than this one?

Gently pulling out a chair across from the other person, the thirty year old fishman would speak up as she sat herself down. "Well, I mean, I guess you could order something for us to drink if you want. Or, if it's too much Beli for you, I could get us some drinks using some of my tip funds that I have gotten tonight. It wouldn't be too big a deal, I've been pretty popular here since I've started." Of course, a good chunk of her popularity may have been because of the eye candy she had on her. While not one to brag to others about her looks, she was beautiful according to the one she had bedded nights ago. It was a shame he was possibly gone already, she would have loved to take up his job offer not that she had the weight of the murdered marine on her shoulders.

For a brief moment Yomi wondered where it was that this girl could have stored her funds, and then she perished the thought as she didn't wish to know where in the world she could store those Carmen Sandiego's. Instead, she would simply shake her head and pull out for beli.

"I can cover for you! it is the least I could do, pooch, after scaring you like that! Say, why in the world were you so scared anyway?"

Yomi was trying to make it a smooth transition as she called over one of the waiters, or rather one of the lads hired on in order to make the order. It was a bit difficult, but at the same time she didn't view it as a bad thing, she could afford to take a bit of time waiting for the waiter to get here to place their order, there was still more that bothered Yomi aside from her question, like what in the world all of this meant. She had seen a rear admiral hear, and now a fishman, this place really was like looking into the grand line wasn't it? Yomi had been there before, something that many seemed to never know, and in all of her experience such a large gathering tended to either attract trouble, or it brought about miracles. At the end of all of this, would this entire gambit end up being a miracle or just give her trouble. She didn't know, but at long as she had parts of her research, she didn't particularly care.

It seemed that Edge Lord would be perfectly fine with paying for her, an odd thing outside of people trying to woo her or without the name Viktor. Hure was unsure if 'pooch' had been a tic or the woman calling her a dog, but the fishman would let it slide for now as she would only take serious offense to that it there had been star trek reaction faces along with it. At least she hadn't said dogfish or something, or even bitchfish, those were the ones that were rude if you didn't have the features of one.

While it was nice that she was going to cover drinks, most likely the amazing rum that was here, the woman really grew nervous at the question that was raised. "Well, I really don't want to talk about it. But let's just say I may be in some trouble. Enough to try and find a guy I met before he leaves the island on his ship." The guy she was talking about was the one and only Viktor. The massive man had given her a job offer that she felt was her only safe option from this point on. Not that she thought it was a bad thing! The time she had spent with him had been some of the best time in her sad thirty years so far, of course she would miss it! "I just gotta hope to make it through town and find him or one of his crew."
