Pet System

Pets are a common sight in the world and the Pirate Nation world is no exception. From cats, to snakes, bats, and chimps, nearly any animal you can think of is tamable, but not every animal is a battle hardened beast. There are combat and non-combat pets and the difference between the two is fairly easy to discern. While nearly anything can be a combat pet, non-combat pets are usually small in stature; being things like house cats.

Like one would think Non-Combat pets are not allowed to participate in any form of combat and are typically used as plot devices if anything. Combat pets on the other hand are generally pets that grow as time and their experience goes on. Lions, apes, giant serpents, etc, in the One Piece universe animals come in all shapes and sizes. Along with being able to act and having a mind of their own, these animals also have personalities of their own. Size should be taken in to consideration when first making your pet, lower tier pets with low experience should be smaller, tier 1 level pets should be cub or infant stage. Only Beast Masters may have a tier 6 pet

Primary Attribute: (Which Attribute is your Pet's focus)
Description: (Personality, appearance, and all mentions of claws, fangs, wings, should be here.)
Special Characteristics: (Things like poison, the ability to camouflage, keen sense of smell, hearing, should be here as well as their effectiveness, duration, cool down, etc. Pets gain 1 Special Characteristic at tier 1, another at tier 3 and a final at tier 5. Please keep these characteristics somewhat realistic to the animal chosen or atleast provide a valid reason as to why they have said characteristic. )
Haki: (Either Kenbonshoku or Busoshoku)
History: (Just 150 Words on how you and your pet came to be.)

Pet Training

Training your pet is very easy, so getting one late or when you are at higher Tiers isn't burdensome. Like your character your pet can gain experience from topics that they have participated in. Whether this be tasks or your turned in topics for that week. Pets recieve 50% of the experience from tasks and topics that they have ACTIVELY participated in. If your pet has one line and isn't actively playing a big part in the topic then they will not receive the award.

Unlike PCs Pets don't need to apply to Tier Up and automatically do so as long as the Tier Up doesn't make their Tier higher than their owners. Pet EP should be tracked by the player in their character updates.

 • Tier 1 - 0 -12,999
 • Tier 2 - 13,000 - 49,999
 • Tier 3 - 50,000 - 149,999
 • Tier 4 - 150,000 - 324,999
 • Tier 5 - 325,000 - 499,999
 • Tier 6 - 500,000+

Attributes

When it comes to Attributes for Pets, their attributes automatically rise as they Tier up, stopping at Tier 4. The Attribute chosen as their Primary Attribute continues to grow until Tier 5 however.

Pets and Skills

Your pet may only have one skill set and each Tier may only have three skills each Tier, with the exception of Tier 5 which only has 1 Skill.

Beast masters may have two tier 5 skills and a single tier 6 on their pet.

When it comes to your Pets stamina pets can't increase their stamina levels, nor are they eligible for Rest Stamina Benefits. Below are their Stamina pools.

 • Tier One 150
 • Tier Two 250
 • Tier Three 300
 • Tier Four 350
 • Tier Five 400
 • Tier Six 500

Stamina cost for Pet skills are roughly the same, but they are not eligible for Consecutive Skill Use unless your character is a Beast Master.

 • Tier One- 15 Stamina
 • Tier Two- 25 Stamina
 • Tier Three- 45 Stamina
 • Tier Four- 60 Stamina
 • Tier Five- 100 Stamina
 • Tier Six- 200 Stamina

Along with these values and cost, Pets are also effected by fatigue and follow the fatigue explanations on the Stamina Guidelines.

Tier Breakdown

 • Tier 1: Smaller pets, usually the size of a house cat or young pup.
 • Tier 2: Your pet is larger now in it's adolescent stages per se. The sizing is equal to the size of wolves, jaguars, some of the larger species of snakes, etc. Basic commands should be a breeze for your pet to understand.
 • Tier 3: Here your pet can outgrow realistic standards or limitations placed on them. Not by too much, but for creatures akin to animals of the canine and feline families, they can be nearly as big as average size humans while on all fours. You pet should be able to understand a bit more advanced commands now.
 • Tier 4: Now your companion can be nearly as large as one story homes. Similar to the size of **Holy** in canon.
 • Tier 5: If your pet is has grown since reaching the Tier 4 limit, then now your pet needs to be stored and has to be summoned when you wish to use it. At this level your pet should be able to understand the English language perfectly and follow even complex instructions to a "t". Sizes maximize at the size of a common Marine ship.
 • Tier 6: At this Tier pets don't really grow any more physically nor mentally, they just get stronger and have the ability to access their Tier 6 Skill.

Pet Restrictions

 • Upon creation all pets start off at Tier 1, unless gifted from an event or captured in an Arc as a Beast Master.
 • Pets may not be mythical unless given as event rewards or treasure chest rewards.
 • Prehistoric or Extinct species can only be gained as pets by acquiring them through the Black Market's ??? board or through the Paradise island, Little Garden.
 • Pets may not have Devil Fruits if the owner has a Devil Fruit. This means if your pet has a Devil Fruit ability, but you wish to gain one, you have to get rid of the pet. Pets can only have DFs that are T1.
 • Unless in reality the animal can speak in understandable dialect, then your pet may not be able to speak to you. Down the road pets will be able to understand you perfectly as well as the owner specifically being able to understand them.
 • If the pet is of enormous proportions, larger than a ship, means of storage need to be included in it's app upon reaching such a size. You will not be allowed to have a mini mountain sized animal follow you around at all times, but you may call it into battle by appropriate means.
 • Pets stop Tiering up after reaching Tier 5, Tier 6 if you are a Beast Master.
 • Your pet's Tier may not exceed your own.
 • You are limited to one pet per character, unless you have the Beast Tamer Combat Job or one of its Specializations.
 • Pets may not have Haoshoku Haki.
 • Pets may have a dial embedded into them, but must be of tier 3 or above and this must be implemented by a Dial Specialist. Pets may only have one dial.
 • Equipment pets may not have abilities that need to be activated, only passive abilities i.e.: unbreakable equipment.
