1 Kuja Chi Blocking Style W.I.P on Sat Aug 20, 2016 1:17 pm

Secondary Skill Set Name: Kuja Chi Blocking Style
Skill Set Stat: Hand to Hand Speed Based and Monk Sub Occupation
Skill Set Information:

Movement Blocking:
Chi/Haki/Energy Blocking:

The Chi Blocking Style is a technique of martial attack designed to disrupt the flow of chi, haki, or energy in a person, as well as harming their nerve centers, preventing them from assuming the necessary postures for fighting and even general movement to occur. The style embodies the hard and soft nature of combat, melding hard and soft techniques, fluid and rigid movements, and hard striking with softer circular techniques for blocking and controlling an opponent Including locks, grapples, take downs and throws. The goal is simple and constant:

“To incapacitate an opponent as quickly as possible.”

Chi Blocking stands on a philosophy of Rittaisen or “Three Dimensional Warfare”, a theory of combat that is centralized through three forms of action: the constructive, the neutral and destructive. Constructive movements are those that gain the user ground (side-steps, forward advance, backward retreat); the neutral is regarded as the user's calm zone activity (still stance, preparing gestures, stand still dodging) that gain the user no outright change in situation; and the third and final is a physical act against another thing (striking, hitting, grappling, tearing down). Nerve strike martial arts techniques have been known to exist and many such strikes exist in almost every martial art. A chi blocker wastes no movement. All blows have a purpose and are aimed at very specific vital points rather than at the random mass of an opponent. These vital areas are known as a person’s pressure points. The idea is to first understand the pressure point system, a collage of spiritual openings in a person’s body that directs and releases chi or energy outward for various reasons. Pressure points are often aligned with key nerve centers on the body and thus the disruption of chi also fall in line with the disruption of motor functions.

The style most notably utilizes a series of quick jabs and punches using the fingers and knuckles, and sometimes even kicks, often leaving little time for reaction. The style is known for its almost complete use of only light jabs and strikes, carrying very little actual strength behind them as brute force hinders the purpose of the techniques -- to incapacitate. The style is most effective on those not expecting such light blows. Many of beasts have been brought down without any awareness that their body was shutting down as they spoke taunts and spouted laughter.

The effects of chi manipulation can be various but two points are always explained and certain as outcomes: the loss of motor function in stricken areas. Based on the complexity or intensity of the technique, decided in terms of tier level, the area stricken will become inoperable for a given amount of time. The second effect is the inability to use chi, energy or Haki. Chi, a form of spiritual energy, becomes the fuel for inner power techniques (in this case, techniques that are non-physical yet utilize energy) that allow martial artists to perform superhuman feats. In a most basic sense, an extremity or person is unable to manipulate or output energy in the same way that they normally would. For example, a punch that manifests a wave of energy would only be a punch, a hand that heats and burns with speed and force of attacks fizzles and remains quite ordinary, and a leap that utilizes energy to send one further up, barely manages a few feet.

Passive,

- With the knowledge of how to use chi without contact comes the ability to strike at pressure points and chi points without actually touching the opponent. Chi is energy, used to provide strength, power techniques and amplify skills. Most people require a medium to exert their chi (i.e. elements). However, advanced Chi Blockers are able to exert their own chi in the raw form of concussive energy through the use of Chi Blocking techniques. Because pure chi is energy without a medium it looks fairly similar to simple wind, though it is tinted with the color of the users natural aura, in this case the aura of their Haki if they have one. If not, it s usually light blue.

- Due to the intensive study of quick and fluid like motions. The user is able to move like an acrobat. Both physically silently. When moving, no matter the movement (stepping on ground or punching, etc) they make 0 to no sound. Giving the user a somewhat upper hand in the line of battle.

Skill Strengths:

  • Chi Blockers learn to rely almost completely on high velocity speed to carry out the correct and precise number of strikes per technique. From the beginning quick, fluid movements are tantamount and therefore highly trained and prepared.
  • The body is broken down into only six parts in the mind of a chi blocker (head, torso, arms and legs) and the user studies these parts intimately enough understand the strength and power of people's bodies after only slight observation, ie (ooc tier level) or (IC bad-guy to ♥♥♥♥ with level).
  • The speed and lightness of a chi blockers punches are often are often mistaken as harmless, however, a focused blocker can impact a person's body with only mild contact, and regardless of clothing or cloth/padded-material armour (excluding metal armour). If armor is present a chi blocker, particularly a very skilled one, may be able to find ways around this (ie openings in said armour)
  • Known to only the most skilled of chi blockers is the secret techniques that stop not only chi, but haki as well. Once a blocker understands haki and how its performed, they can understand how their attacks can halt this flow as well. It is worth noting that particular haki styles such Armament Haki once activated will still negate even these techniques, and therefore a Chi Blocker must be proactive in preventing its use early.

Skill Weaknesses:

  • The users of this style become severely concerned with precision and speed so much so that strength is almost a non-entity. The strength of Chi Blockers, though varies from person to person, is unlikely to be any stronger than average.
  • Against a person skilled or knowledgeable enough to guard their pressure points or rather to guard against attacks that target them, these users are nearly useless. Effectiveness also begins to wear away once a user fights the same person for a second time or third time. After a while, people simply know what to look for.
  • Except for their evasiveness and speed, mid to long-ranged opponents are among the most deadly for these fighters as their whole fighting style relies on close hand-to-hand fighting.

Notes:

Limb Usage and Power Chart:
When using skills or passives to disrupt motor movement or energy, chi, and haki flow. It happens as soon as the attack is a success on the body. Example is the user punches a pressure point on the arm. If the attack hits, that limb instantly goes limp. Depending on the tier of the skill. That is how long a limb or flow is considered useless (unable to move or use). Tier 1 is one post, tier 2 is 2 post, tier 3 is 3 posts and so on and so forth. Though, multiple attacks to different points in the limb can cause an extra amount of waiting before use of limb.

Tier One:

Speed: 2

Skill Tier: 1
Skill Name: Obstruction
Skill Type: Hand to Hand
Skill Range: Contact
Skill Duration: 1 Post
Skill Description: This technique is the bread and butter of a chi blocker's style of combat, encapsulating what the techniques are all about. Through a series (one to three) rapid jabs, the user strikes the pressure points of a particular limp and, in doing so, disrupts the nerve centers causing paralysis in that limb.

Skill Tier 1
Skill Name: Parry
Skill Type: Hand to Hand
Skill Range: Contact
Skill Duration: 2 Posts
Skill Description: If the tales of the Chi Blockers were allowed to be told, the Parry technique would be well known. Blocking and parrying are common in any fight, but the Chi Blocker uses this routine to their advantage. Whenever strikes are being blocked, a Chi Blocker can use this opening to strike at pressure points in the assaulting body parts. This technique still requires the use of a Blockers actual techniques (ie knuckle strikes and fingers and kicks) and therefore blocking using any random body part will not work. Skilled users can actually block and strike almost simultaneously to overcome this, but this is only true in much higher caliber (read: tiered) fighters. After the opponent strikes, they will release that they're attacking limbs have less dexterity to them, making further attacks more difficult. This technique is advised to only be used with opponents of similar skill level or less as blocking powerful techniques requires a skill and strength level all its own.

Skill Name: Self-Destruct
Skill Type: Hand to Hand
Skill Range: Contact
Skill Duration: Instant
Skill Description: One of the more fearsome techniques of a Chi Blocker, after a series of no less than two separate series of strikes (2 Posts) the chi of an opponent is reversed. The next technique that they attempt to use, especially those requiring the release of any type of energy, will be sabotaged and thus rebound back onto the user. For physical assaults, the user will seem to halt just before the strike and suddenly feel the equal amount of force they were exerting directed squarely onto them. Most Chi Blockers are only able to reverse the flow of chi in this manner on those of equal footing with themselves (read: same tier level). If the opponent is beyond their level, their chi can naturally break through this type of effect. If a Chi Blocker sacrifices more effort or energy in their assault (10 extra stamina points) then a they can force the success of their technique, albeit the cooldown time will be doubled (6 posts) before they can attempt it again.

Skill Tier: 1
Skill Name: Mirror Image
Skill Type: Evasion
Skill Range: 0-1m
Skill Duration: Upkeep
Skill Description: Mirror Image allows the Chi Blocker, an expert on the body and its motions, to replicate the reverse movements of an attack and thus evading the strikes. The opponent will find that the Chi Blocker is simply mimicking their movements and staying out of reach. This can continue for as long as the attack continues through the upkeeping stamina system. This technique can only be used through continuous dodging. If the attack halts, the technique is ended. If the opponent somehow punches for three posts straight without stopping, then it can be continued. The user should know, however, that keeping up with higher grade opponents is not made easier and so if a person outmatches your speed, then this technique will certainly be more difficult (+1 tier higher) and virtually impossible (+2 or higher) with more seasoned opponents.

Skill Name: Fluid Foot
Skill Type: Hand to Hand
Skill Range: 3m
Skill Duration: Instant
Skill Description: The Chi Blocker must be able to attack the correct and specific pressure points of an opponent if they are to incapacitate them quickly. This requires the ability to sometimes be at all sides of the attacker before they have time to react. Using Fluid Foot, a Chi Blocker to move at their highest speed to get behind an opponent and follow through with an chi attack. While it is not an instant movement, when dealing with an opponent on equal standing with the Chi Blocker it can be all the advantage one needs.

Tier Two:

Speed: 3

Skill Tier: 2
Skill Name: Desolation
Skill Type: Hand to Hand
Skill Range: 1m
Skill Duration: 2
Skill Description: A follow up to the Obstruction technique, Desolation builds on the fundamentals of the Chi Blocking style. With the new ability to transfer chi without contact, the user doesn't have to land multiple blows to impair a person anymore, though close range is still required. Instead with a single strike towards the user, the arm and leg closest to the strike become paralyzed and cannot move until the pressure points open again. In the scenario, this could spell death any foe. The first post is complete inability to operate these limbs, while the second post is only reduced speed and dexterity while the limbs recover.

Skill Tier: 2
Skill Name: Blitzkrieg
Skill Type: Speed
Skill Range: 15m
Skill Duration: 1
Skill Description: Now able to expel chi from body, Blitzkrieg has been developed to capitalize on the skill set. Despite this being an exhaustive act, Blitzkrieg comes in handy as it allows the user to propel themselves at a blazing speeds, or a .5 speed boast. The user moves so quickly that they are actually floating. Though often used in conjunction with another attack or the get the hell out of dodge, turned against an enemy or structure it can prove quite damaging for both parties as it will always propel the user no matter which direction they point it.  Blitzbrieg uses a lot of chi and therefore multiple usage is not advised. Usage costs double stamina.

Visual Aid:

Skill Tier: 2
Skill Name: Remote Detonation
Skill Type: Hand to Hand
Skill Range: 3m
Skill Duration: Instant
Skill Description: The ferocity of the arsenal of a Chi striker is beginning to be understood with this technique. A follow up to the earlier Self-Destruct skill, as well as a another bi-product of chi transference, what usually requires close proximity and contact to do, can now be accomplished from a distance. Standing before a target, the user is able to send a barrage of chi strikes without approaching the user. To an observer the user looks as if they're hands start to glow, resulting in a series of extremely swift streams of what looks like simple, glowing wind strike at the victim. While the user is not yet able to use the paralyzing effects of pressure point manipulation at a distance, they are able to reverse the opponent's chi. While the strikes carry no physical damage and the victim can not actually feel pain from the strikes, the moment they attempt their next strike or attack the effects will be reversed unto themselves. Precision is key to this technique, therefore it can only properly be performed from a 3m range. This skill only works on equal tiers or lower.

Skill Tier: 2
Skill Name: Reverse Aura
Skill Type: Evasion
Skill Range: 15m
Skill Duration: Instant
Skill Description: In a burst of chi, the user is able to create spiral of energy around them to push back any oncoming attack not strong enough to break through it. The rush of chi can block up to two tier 2 techniques or one tier 3 technique. As with most chi techniques, however, its use is very wearing and exhaustive. Multiple usage is not advised.

Visual Aid:

Tier Three:

Speed: 3

Skill Tier: 3
Skill Name: Quarantine
Skill Type: Chi/Energy
Skill Range: 5m
Skill Cooldown&Duration: 5 | Instant
Skill Description: The Chi Blocker understands that routes of energy in a body more so than anyone. Each skill we use, each assault, every single strike uses a certain path of transference in the body. The Chi Blocker is aware of this fact and uses it to their advantage. Once the user has seen a technique of an opponent, they are made intimately aware of the processes the body took to unleash such a skill. The user slashes horizontally as though the opponent was directly in front of them and sends out a light blue impulse in a coned shaped that stretches 5m wide and another 5m in length towards the victim, negating that specific route of energy transference. This works by specifically attacking the pressure points along that route. Energy can move in many ways and thus any other skill may be used. The victims body essentially can not complete the path of energy for that specific skill and it is thus unusable until the end of the thread. This victim must have used the technique no more than two posts before this technique is used. If this technique cancels out a T3, it can no longer be used in the thread. It can, alternatively, cancel up to (2) T2 or lower techniques

*Can only use this technique twice per thread and never on the same person

Ground Zero:
Skill Tier 3
Skill Name: Ground Zero
Skill Type: Hand to Hand
Skill Range: 25m
Skill Duration: Instant
Skill Description: The Chi Blocker must be be able to keep a fight within a specific range in order to make the most of their abilities. This technique, showcasing a Blockers ability  to close that small gap between them and an opponent quickly, keeps the enemy from widening that game. With Ground Zero, the user sends out of a wave of chi in all directions with a 5m radius, causing up to (1) T3 PC or (2) T2 PCs in the zone to become rigid and stiff, immobilizing a part of their body to effectively weaken their abilities to evade attacks. Anyone caught in this wave of light blue aura will have the option of experiencing paralysis in either their upper or lower body [upper body - arms, lower body -legs]. This technique will only affect tier 3 and under. This technique will last for two posts.

Tier Four:

Speed: 4

Skill Tier: 4
Skill Name: Haki Inhibitor
Skill Type: Chi/Energy
Skill Range: Touch
Skill Duration: Instant
Description: The secrets of the Chi Blocking Style are slowly coming to light. With the introduction of Haki and its use in the world of fighters, the Chi Blockers reveal that they had long ago discovered a way to thwart even these uncanny fighters. The user can sense, at this point, those who use Haki once it has been activated. This technique is only operable when armament haki is not active, due to its rebounding effects. The user syncs their own chi to match that of a particular haki user, which requires one post of seeing the haki in use, and the user has three posts thereafter to make contact. If contact is not made, the cooldown begins. Once the user makes contact with the target, they will find their ability to use haki disrupted for the remainder of the thread.

eh, you need to specifically say this doesn't block the usage of devil fruits because they aren't used through a source of energy or chi. This would work to block things like haki obviously, but also energy based fighting like Jio-Ken and anything else you can think of. But again, this needs to specifically mention that Devil Fruit abilities can't be inhibited through use of this skillset. coming back after reading the whole thing (skills and what's below) u need to clean this up and give a clear description of what "chi" is. in some cases u make it seem like an energy. in some cases u relate it to stamina that's expended from skill use. There is no clear cut description, so the skillset is pretty wide stretched and lacks definition. Also all that DBZ stuff has to go, unleashing waves of chi with no movement on ur behalf. it got super silly really fast. don't wanna hear "Raza has it" don't care i'm grading this ur skills so pls leave raza out of this.

Passive,

- With the knowledge of how to use chi without contact comes the ability to strike at pressure points and chi points without actually touching the opponent. Chi is energy, used to provide strength, power techniques and amplify skills. Most people require a medium to exert their chi (i.e. elements). Because pure chi is energy without a medium it looks fairly similar to simple wind, though it is tinted with the color of the users natural aura, in this case the aura of their Haki if they have one. If not, it s usually light blue. this passive does nothing but describes that people who use this skillset have the ability to output chi as an external force. Not sure if that's what you were aiming for, but yeah imma have to just go ahead and tell you now that the usage of chi externally as an energy that gives u range is going to be really limited. You only see energy based styles in one piece that aren't devil fruits supplementary enhance the user, never is it exerted in a way that makes it like Ki from DBZ or something.

- Due to the intensive study of quick and fluid like motions. The user is able to move like an acrobat. Both physically silently. When moving, no matter the movement (stepping on ground or punching, etc) they make 0 to no sound. Giving the user a somewhat upper hand in the line of battle. moving like an acrobat =/= moving silent. So this is basically two passives. Just say the users are acrobatic in nature somewhere else, but i can't let u have it in ur passive cuz it'd essentially be a two in one. the no noise thing should only be when acting within the realms of ur own speed. Meaning if u use any speed buffing skills u lose the silence thingy.

Skill Strengths:

  • Chi Blockers learn to rely almost completely on high velocity speed to carry out the correct and precise number of strikes per technique. From the beginning quick, fluid movements are tantamount and therefore highly trained and prepared.
  • The body is broken down into only six parts in the mind of a chi blocker (head, torso, arms and legs) and the user studies these parts intimately enough understand the strength and power of people's bodies after only slight observation, ie (ooc tier level) or (IC bad-guy to ♥♥♥♥ with level). no, makes 0 sense to look at someone and be like "oh yeah he's t6."

The strength of Chi Blockers, though varies from person to person, is unlikely to be any stronger than average. this isn't a concrete weakness and ur just making a flavor of text bonus while not actually placing an inhibitor to make this anything relevant. Limit strength to exceeding a certain tier.
  • Against a person skilled or knowledgeable enough to guard their pressure points or rather to guard against attacks that target them, these users are nearly useless. Effectiveness also begins to wear away once a user fights the same person for a second time or third time. After a while, people simply know what to look for. universal weakness that applies to basically every skillset on the site.
  • Except for their evasiveness and speed, mid to long-ranged opponents are among the most deadly for these fighters as their whole fighting style relies on close hand-to-hand fighting.

Notes:

Limb Usage and Power Chart:
When using skills or passives you need to go over those passives and write in how they are used to disrupt anything, cuz right now they don't do anything to block chi and only say "users can use chi in a ranged fashion" to disrupt motor movement or energy, chi, and haki flow. Though, multiple attacks to different points in the limb can cause an extra amount of waiting before use of limb. what about a basic strike?

Tier One:

Skill Description: One of the more fearsome techniques of a Chi Blocker, after a series of no less than two separate series of strikes (2 Posts) the chi of an opponent is reversed. the wording is funny, clean it up. are u saying after u hit the opponent with at least 2 skills? The next technique that they attempt to use, especially those requiring the release of any type of energy, will be sabotaged and thus rebound back onto the user. For physical assaults, the user will seem to halt just before the strike and suddenly feel the equal amount of force they were exerting directed squarely onto them. Most Chi Blockers are only able to reverse the flow of chi in this manner on those of equal footing with themselves (read: same tier level). If the opponent is beyond their level, their chi can naturally break through this type of effect. If a Chi Blocker sacrifices more effort or energy in their assault (10 extra stamina points) then a they can force the success of their technique, albeit the cooldown time will be doubled (6 posts) before they can attempt it again. remove this if, and, and but stuff. make one solid skill, no extra stamina consumption, no cool downs, jus a solid skill. Further this skill needs to be activated along with the last strike you make on the target and can't be done afterwards. i.e. 1st post u hit the target with 2 skills or w.e. and with those two skills u also use this skill. no u hit the target with 2 skills, then distance urself then say "opps lemme use this technique and reverse ur flow of chi" the 2nd scenario turns this into some ranged chi manipulation stuff that doesn't need contact or a form of connection with the target and just "psychically" changes how their chi works.

The user should know, however, that keeping up with higher grade opponents is not made easier and so if a person outmatches your speed, then this technique will certainly be more difficult (+1 tier higher) and virtually impossible (+2 or higher) with more seasoned opponents. flavor of text weakness everywhere. just say u can't use it against people 2 tiers higher and u can only use it for one post against those 1 tier higher than the skill

Instead with a single strike towards the user target, the arm and leg closest to the strike become paralyzed and cannot move until the pressure points open again.

Standing before a target, the user is able to send a barrage of chi strikes without approaching the user target.

Multiple usage is not advised. this is where the DBZ bs comes into play. Denied.

Tier Three:

It can, alternatively, cancel up to (2) T2 or lower techniques yeah the skillset is getting silly now and turning into energy waves and stuff. sure it's not direct damage, but it's still outside of the realm of one piece given u don't have a fruit. Denied

This technique will last for two posts. same as above

Tier Four:

The user can sense, at this point, those who use Haki once it has been activated. ehhhhh no magical sensory. make it a passive or find a reason to make it a strength since it is related to usage of the skillset, but it'll need a substantial weakness to match This technique is only operable when armament haki is not active, due to its rebounding effects.
