Name: Fisk Black
Alias/Epithet: Octonose
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Mode: Hard

Occupation: Sword specialist, navigator (caps tier 3).
Affiliation: Marine
Tier: 1

General Appearance: Fisk's build clearly shows off the hard work and dedication he put into his marine training. His physique is lean and toned with a fair amount of muscle. He is almost always seen wearing the standard marine grunt uniform and likely wouldn't stick out from a crowd of other members if it weren't for his outlandish facial features. Specifically, his eyes and nose are peculiar enough to make him stick out like a sore thumb. His eyes have a weird, round cartoonish quality with only three eyebrows on each one. By far his most noticeable facial feature, however, is his long nose. Somehow, it is about 5 inches long and has an octagonal shape. Similarly strange is his choice in headgear. On his head is an octopus he affectionately refers to as "Octo", who he has had with him since childhood. Under his "hat", traces of Fisk's light blonde, curly hair can be seen. His skin is lightly tanned and his eye color is completely black.
Height: 5'8
Weight: 158 lbs
Crew Tattoo Placement: If he had one, it would be on his right bicep.

Personality: Fisk's greatest passions are fighting, eating, and protecting the innocent. No matter what, he always strives to do the right thing in any given situation and makes sure that justice is upheld at all times. This, combined with his generally polite and friendly attitude, make him well liked in most circles. While a good person at heart, he is not exactly the ideal marine. Instead of enforcing the law, as is his duty, he chooses to judge others based on his own moral standards. Whether it's a pirate or a revolutionary, if he views them as good or harmless he will always avoid conflict with them whenever possible. That is, unless his hand is forced by somebody else, such as a superior. Otherwise, he typically sweeps such things under the rug.

Often, his good nature can feel like a major detriment. He is often overly trusting of others and can be easily manipulated by even the least cunning of tricksters. Fisk is rather well known for his determination and willpower, taking his job very seriously. He is alert for criminals at almost all times and won't hesitate to strike someone down if they get a tad too threatening for his tastes. Because of his low rank, Fisk is obliviously naive regarding the corrupted state of the world government, viewing it as the paragon of all good. His loyalty to the government is so high that to even think that the slightest semblance of evil could be corrupting it is unthinkable in his mind.

The one thing he values above all else, however, is Octo. Fisk has the patience of a saint and can put on a brave face through any tribulation that might come his way. The worst thing you could ever do to get on his bad side is hurt his little buddy. After doing something like that, Fisk would view just about anyone as an enemy.
Likes: Octo, swords, seafood, and his job.
Dislikes: Evildoers, enemies of the world government, anyone who hurts Octo, and the smell of oil.

History: Fisk was born the son of a marine, his mother, and a civilian engineer, his father. Both of their jobs clearly demanded a lot of time and effort, draining away any time they could have been spending with their son. Fisk, ever the optimistic child, did not care about this in the slightest. He was proud of both of his parents for their prowess in their respectively fields and idolized the both of them, especially his mother. His dad was cool and all, but engineering was way too complicated for him. Swordplay, or his mother's forte, was very easy to grasp in comparison. All you had to do was stick the pointy part into the other person, right? His mother's status as a well-respected hero of the marines only fueled his admiration of her.

Day after day, he would try to emulate his mother's techniques to the best of his abilities in solitude by a nearby beach with only a stick. Forward thrusts, vertical and horizontal slashes, etc, all were practiced by the young Fisk based on stories he's heard about his mother's skills. With time, this gradually allowed him to improve as a swordsman and show off his natural talent, while still completely lacking the actual tools to truly fight.

On one of these days, something peculiar washed up on the beach. As Fisk inched closer towards it, he identified it as an octopus, a strange, yet intriguing animal he had never gotten the chance to see before. It was a talking one, at that. It introduced itself as—okay, well, Fisk doesn't exactly remember what the thing introduced itself as. Some long and foreign name that would be too hard to remember. The octopus (begrudgingly) allowed Fisk to refer to him as Octo and they've been together ever since.

Once he grew old enough, Fisk chose to enlist in the navy and slowly worked his way up from the rank of cabin boy all the way up to ensign. During this time period, he also took up studying navigation to a lesser degree, if only as a precaution should he ever find himself lost at sea.
