Really, she oughtn’t have been surprised. You would think after nearly two months of waiting after Kaldur'ahm here or there, she’d have come to the conclusion that it just wasn’t worth her while to bother to show up anywhere on time when he whom she was meeting was Kal. Were it someone else who kept her in a state of perpetual delay, who rendered her forever in an interim between one event and the next, the thought that her time would be better spent doing other things than being bided for the sake of this person would’ve crossed her mind many a time, no doubt about it. As things stood, however, it was not someone else; it was her soul connection to the Rev Army, and despite frequently disappointing her in the realm of affection and general fondness, Reinaka couldn’t bring herself to risk the chance that one day, maybe, just maybe, Kaldur'ahm would show up at the time he’d promised she would. Not ten minutes late, not five, not even a single, solitary minute in detention. One could only hope.

Be that as it may, today was not going to be the long-awaited exception to the general way things worked. Evidently. Reinaka sucked in her cheeks and held her breath for one second, two, release, then a sigh, long and soft. She should order. It was only logical, perfectly reasonable, entirely expectable: it’d been long enough since the set meeting time for her to. In fact, it would probably be against certain codes of etiquette for her not to go on. Probably. Or, another conceivable option now, she was just hungry. And bitter. The worst part of all this, she thought to herself as she shooed away a kind-faced waiter, wanting to be helpful, offering yet another refill for her water, and perhaps the menu this time, miss, was that Kaldur'ahm probably didn’t even think this was that important. Knowing him, chances were that she’d shrug it off, deeming it banal, trivial, really a waste of energy to be annoyed about, and this knowledge was enough to make Rei, she of flawless posture and rigid-backed chairs, slump in her seat, an actual slouch: shoulders pushed forward, hips sunk low, eyes down-cast. If only her mother could see her.

Then finally, a feeble hallelujah: the Baron walked in. Reinaka's bright eyes shot right back up, eyeing the man as the hostess, bumbling and bowing him all the way to his prime real estate table in the center of the restaurent: mob boss style and front and center for the whole place to see. How accurate her leaky source had been about the Baron's dining habits. After a moment’s inspection of the man, Reinaka found her suspicions had been correct; the smuggler was, indeed, a force to be reckoned with, that with just a short glance over of the man he had emanated this kind of aura from his spiritual pressure points he was able to display just how powerful he was, meant that she might be needing Kaldur'ahm there after all.

Disappointing as this was, at least the younger girl could console herself with the undeniable claim, only slightly more satisfying than it was exasperating, that she had been entirely correct. She clicked her tongue and crossed her legs, a swift, easy motion, redressing her posture into its usual upright state - a measure of self-defense, hopefully shielding herself with the off-putting nature of unadulterated stringency – before offering a curt reply, “and a coffee...and send that man there a drink.” Naturally, her pinched expression was enough to allow the subtext to ring loud and clear: or else. The waitress looked reprovingly at the girl and scurried off.

Her eyes followed the girl, watching her intently as she flicked through the tables, positively oozing a sense of being woe at her task, and Rei-Rei found herself even further displeased. She watched has the girl delivered the drink to the man, who seemed astonished that someone had purchased him a beverage as she was. She sincerely doubted it had ever happened before, at least from a woman; ‘no regrets and no misgivings, babykins’: she could just hear her mama telling her that, grinning cheekily through her attempt at a serious face. It was just like something she’d say, wasn’t it ? Especially with an added, ‘stranger things happen’ at the tail-end, her own personal brand of punctuation. Suddenly, she rose from the table, sensually, thoroughly unbothered by a single thing going on around her.

She reached the table, the man having seen watched her muscle in her body move towards him and leaned in, and with a touch of sharpness in her voice, and only a hint of heat to color her usual coolness in situations such as this, Rei-Rei asked, “Do you have the package?” A pause then, as she moved a hand to tuck a strand of raven hair, having fallen out of her neat French braids, before adding an only somewhat-accusatory, "Or did I buy the wrong guy a drink?"

The dark eyed, bald headed man lifted his eyes to her, trailing across her face, lips, down the nape of her neck and across her hanging bosom. He brought a long cigar up to his lips and pressed them over the wrapped, brown paper of the blunt. His eyes were with both a suspicion that obviously bled into fascination around the edges. He could not keep a skeptical look anymore than he could a besotted one. He was well advised to be both, in Rei-darling's opinion. He could hardly afford to make the silly mistake of trusting a girl like her. But still, how could she have known about the package.

"Well, I must say...nobody told me I'd be meeting some a fine broad like ya self here... where's Frankie at? Ain't he making the runs nowadays?"

Reinaka shot an eye to the guy sitting across from the Baron and he quickly jumped to his feet, in a bundle of nerves, and stepped aside. Whether it was her looks or directness, he made no sign of least amount of distrust. She took the seat, flipped her hair behind her and crossed her legs, an air of irritation about being questioned clear as day. If Reinaka knew anything at all, she knew how to bullshit a person. She turned those cold, black eyes of hers back to the Baron, deadness flowing form her soul.

"Who's give a fuck about a Frankie or whoever you think you shoulda been dealing with. Look, he sent me and sending me ain't good enouff' for yous then you need to talk that up with the big guy. I was sent to get the stuff, so I'm here!"

He sat back, eyeing her as though he were trying to peer into her very soul to confirm her story. He pulled on the cigar and inhaled the fumes, blowing them back out and into the air after a few seconds.

"And I don't know who the fuck you's think ya talkin' to, but I don't give a flying fuck how's smoking hot you are I'll put a bullet in ya head if you's speak to me that way again!"

With this a pistol came up and insight, pulled from his waist and cocked, aimed straight at the spot between Reinaka's eyes.

"Now... you wanna try that again, ya dumb broad? Keep playin' with me and Sal won't be getting shit but a dead bitch from---"

His hand twitched and froze as though a spasm had gone through his arm and shoulder. But before he could figure out what it was he realized he couldn't move a single part of his arm, including his finger sternly resting over the trigger.

"What in the--"

"Call me a bitch one more time and I swear tah God I'll take that pistol and shove into your mouth, you son of a bitch! Hell, i'l put your hand off with that pistol and make you watch helplessly if you threaten me again!"

Sinister eyes now scanned every inch of her expression with such an intensity that it almost made her nervous to think what he'd do if he could actually move his fingers right now.

Before she could move, the man's foot lurched up and sent the table flinging into the air. It was all she could do to avoid being smacked in the chin the wooden furniture piece as she pushed herself back as the chair tipped over and sent her crashing onto her back. A black leather boot appeared almost instantly over her face, its shadow looming across her skin in a menacing show of force. The boot stomped the hardwood floor just inches from where her head had been just been. The Skypiean spun and attempted to get up before a fist pounded into her stomach.

The effect was instantaneous and dizzying. A fist clinched her hair and yanked her up and out towards the Baron who was stil struggling to get the top half of his body to function properly. Her Chi Blocking techniques had grown so that even someone as strong as the Baron would be hard pressed to negate her spell.

"What the fuck did you do you little bitch?"

His arms were beginning to move again, but she could tell he was still having trouble performing any thing more complex than balling a fist. The fist in her hair, however, was another story. She grit her teeth at being yanked again, and she'd have cut his belly open in a second but she didn't want to lose that patch of hair he was holding on to, nor did she care to leave the place without the package.

"Alright, alright. Just... easy on that weave, big guy! Look, my bad. I didn't mean any disrespect. I just need the package arrived on time or its my ass."

The man looked from her, back to his arm and back at her again. He handed the gun off to another of his henchman who'd just cleared out the last of the patrons of the restaurant. A tension eased in Rei-Rei's shoulders, but that tension was sucked right back up as he flung his arm out towards her and she felt a familiar energy grip over her. Her back shot straight up and she found herself unable to move. The fist even eased in her mane and she realized that she wasn't the only one who'd experienced teh seizing up of her muscles.

Oh god...

"Boss! Boss, what's happening? I can't move!!!"

"Neither can I!!"

"Me eitherrr!!!"

"Well, well, well... what an amazing power this is..."

Reinaka's eyes widened. Was he... a chi blocker as well? How did he best her at her own game? She watched him as she walked closer to her, slow, calculated steps. He leaned in close to her, his face brushing against her own cheek, his tongue gliding over her skin...

"I hate the Kopi Kopi fruit, you dumb bit--"

Reinaka's knee lurched upward and caught the man so squarely in his crotch that she could swear she heard a popping noise. A silent roar ripped from his mouth and she pushed outward with her foot, kicking him away from her and into the table. He crashed into the toppled table and Rei kicked the man behind away as well.

"I told you... call me a bitch one more time and there'd be trouble." She breathed heavily, trying her hardest to mentally free her body from teh invisible bondage but to little effect.

The man screamed shouts of hatred and pain as he struggled to somehow ease the agony coming from between his legs. He pounded the floor and knocked away anything in arm's reach, trying to distract himself from the fact that his family jewels might be lodged so far inside him that he could scarcely ever call himself a man again. Reinaka was not paying attention to him however, she was looking around. Her limbs were freeing up, but she'd yet to locate the package that he was hoping to deliver to the next meet up point. That weapon, whatever it was, needed to be in the right hands and whomever he was plotting with did not fit that bill. The revolutionary army had decided that they needed to capture it and it was within Reinaka's best interest if she acquired it for them.

Still... where in the hell could it be?

As if the universe had heard her internal plea, a swift motion seized her attention in the far corner of the room nearest the door. The black blurred moved from here to there and back, jumping and leaping over tables until Rei could clearly see that it was some kind of animal. A lion or a leopard maybe? Black leopard... it was a panther? Where in the hell had a -- she leaped and rolled as the beast launched itself so close to her that it's teeth would have dug square into her chest had she not moved. Fucking hell, it was fast. And what's more, it had a small box strapped around its next. Could it be... Was that the package she needed?

"Beelzebub!..."

The panther launched itself again, but this time, in a twirl, hidden blades slide out on either of Rei's hands and sliced itself into the cat's belly, spraying blood across the floor. The ripping of flesh and showering of the red droplets was masked only the cry of pain from the Baron's lips at the site. The a panther crashed into a table behind her and she ran over to see the box on its neck crushed and empty... She flashed a furious look at the site then scanned around to see a blond headed boy standing at the entry way with something in his hands...

"Lemme guess... Frankie?"

The boy stepped back and Reinaka charged forward only to see him full on jump as if expecting to dive into the outside pavement and, well, he seemed to do just that... The boy began to swim through the concrete road as though it were a warm private pool and he an Olympic trainer...

"Son of a bitch!"

With a running start and a dodge from a henchman trying to tacle the Skypiean, she pushed off and instead of diving into the ground like the boy, she poured into the air and zoomed skyward, her wings carrying her aloft like a bird.

Almost as soon as Reinaka hit the sky, thinking that her worries about the henchman were finished, something hot and fast hit the side of her leg and went straight through it as it a spec of fire had been launched at her. Her wings wavered and she began to fall. The pain in her leg was so great that she saw only specs and stars at first. The wind pulled past her face and hair as she tore through the air. With all the strength she could muster she willed herself to keep flight, to pull her body back up and to ignore the pain in her right leg. It was so hot and burned so badly that it was hard to focus on anything else.

She heard the shots being fired and she began to swirl in zigzagging patterns, trying to avoid what she was sure were more bullets being shot at her. He wrenched her eyes open just in time to see that blond patch of hair hit a right turn and get lost behind a building. She had to keep up, she had to fly faster or she was going to lose him and her lead on the next meeting point. She swirled around the building as window after window shattered in her wake, warning her of the doom that would befall her if just one of those metal marbles hit her in the wrong spot.

She couldn't keep as high as she was before. Between the racing bullet stream and the pain in her leg, she was lower to the ground that she'd have liked to be but the buildings provided a measure of cover. There was no way there could be that much more of them, but just then she was struck again. This time the metal ball of fire only sliced across her arm and she was able to stay up enough not to run into anyone or anything. Another left... another right...

She was loosing the energy to keep up until she saw him submerge right in from of a gated dojo... Was this it? Please let this be it! Whatever was awaiting her on the other side of that fense, she welcomed it as she flew over and lost her current, toppling on to the grass in a harsh crash...

By the time she was able to open her eyes again, she was flooded with the site of marine's huddled around her with swords pointed directly at her face...

"Let her up!" The words rung with such a sting of authority that she almost obeyed them herself... Arms pulled her up until she could see beyond the bodies around her. A man in a dashing Navy coat stood watching them, the blond boy behind him.

A Commodore...
