Cupid hid patiently behind a bush, observing the movements of a carriage moving through the fields of the Marine base. The person sitting in the front was a Marine Lieutenant named Mina Eubank. Cupid had never actually met Ms. Eubank in person, but what he had heard of her was not good. What he had heard of Mina was that she was a corrupt Marine that used her position to steal and sell off Devil Fruits obtained by the Marines, and she also paid off the higher-ups in the Marine hierarchy to get away with her crimes, dividing the profits. Cupid’s friend had advised him to not bother Mina, and that it would make him a target.

However, Cupid was not going to confront Mina as a Marine but a vigilante. Cupid dressed for the part as well, donning a bandana and civilian clothes. With his bow in hand, Cupid was going to “deal” with Mina. He was determined to deal with the corruption affecting the Marine base in Yotsuba, and taking out a greedy smuggler who abused her position like Mina was going to be the first step. As the carriage came closer to Cupid’s position, he shot an arrow at Mina Eubank’s head. The arrow zipped past the field, but Mina was able to dodge it in time. Mina got off the carriage and looked around, trying to find the person who had just tried to kill her. Even though Cupid was dead silent, Mina still moved towards his position..

Cupid tensed up as Mina walked towards his position, but he decided to take advantage of this time by readying his bow and arrow. Hopefully being in close proximity will mean that the corrupt Pirate would have a smaller window of opportunity to evade his arrow. Mina stopped and listened very carefully, before sending a knife flying at the bush where Cupid was hiding. Cupid sent the arrow flying at Mina before falling to the floor for cover, and the blade whizzed right above Cupid. Cupid got himself up and took off into the air with his wings, hoping that he would see a wounded Mina with an arrow lodged inside her.

Unfortunately, the arrow had only grazed Mina, and she looked furious. “Did you think a punk like you could take me down? That’s just laughable, but whatever, here I come!” shouted Mina as she threw another knife into the air, as the two knifes came flying at Cupid from opposite directions. Cupid flew higher, but it seemed as though the knifes were changing altitude as well. Cupid attempted to evade the attack, but he was not fast enough to avoid being nicked by the blades, although he was lucky enough to avoid any serious damage, just flesh wounds. However, Cupid had a frightening feeling that this was intended. Out of breathe, Cupid asked Mina “Why did you spare me?”, to which Mina answered with only a witch-like cackle. Mina then said to Cupid “Oh you poor boy, I’m not done with you yet”, before the two blades came flying towards Cupid once again.

In the heat of the moment, Cupid decided to go all out, flying towards Mina with all of the strength he had left in his bloodied wings. The blades also shifted direction at Mina’s command, following Cupid like a pair of bloodthirsty wolves. Mina taunted Cupid, saying “You really don’t know when to give up, do you?”. However, Cupid did not let Mina distract him, and he once he was right above Mina, he paused for a moment.

Cupid concentrated on the movement of the knives, before stopping one just as it was about to pierce his heart, the blade of the knife tore into Cupid’s palm, but he was able to wrest control of the knife from Mina. Unfortunately for Cupid, the other knife lodged itself deep into Cupid’s shoulder, although Cupid still found the strength the bring the other knife onto Mina’s skull. The knife in Cupid’s shoulder twisted, making Cupid shout in pain, but the supernatural movements finally faded once Mina was out for good.

Cupid removed the knife from his deeply wounded shoulder, before throwing it onto the ground. He trudged on towards the carriage, hoping to find a Devil Fruit he could consume. Mina was smuggling a Devil Fruit outside of the Base, so it had mean that she was carrying one in the carriage. The horse drawing the carriage was still there, lazily looking at Cupid. Cupid boarded the carriage and looked around inside, where he found an unlocked wooden box. Inside the box was a large black fruit with white swirls on it, and Cupid knew from the get go that it was a Devil Fruit. Cupid took a bite of the Fruit, before feeling the bitterness overwhelm his taste buds, to the point he wanted to throw up..
