Alphie stepped out the living quarters and onto the deck of the vessel he and his company were operating from. They were under the command of Captain Blanka, a man Alphie had been under the command of since he joined the Marines and a man he had come to respect despite his future motives. Stretching as he did so, he watched everyone scramble around on the deck preparing to embark onto Arukōru Island. The Battalion was back to pirate hunting and a specific band of drunks were their target. The Sake Pirates. Word got around that the group had been searching for some mystic brew of sake and their journey lead them to the Sake hub that was Arukōru Island. In response to the arrival of the pirates, the natives to Arukōru Island sent out a message to Base #45 and Alphie's Battalion was assigned the mission of neutralizing and capturing the drunks.

"Alright, field crew get a move on to establishing our vantage point. You other guys take the ship around to the docks, we'll meet up with you when we establish the base." Alphie was looking at the Captain from the terrain of the island while his Captain was standing on the rim of the ship until he jumped down. With a firm and solid landing, he adjusted his hat and gave a look to Alphie. "Ready?" Not even waiting for his inferiors response, the Captain was moving and the Battalion was figuratively on his heels.

Alphie looked on and soon got a move on as well. "As if I'm never not ready." The words were to himself in response to his Captain as the field crew moved on and the vessel got a move on towards the commercial docks of the town.

The Island was very appealing to the eyes. It seemed to have been explored by those inhabiting it as well as decorated as there were carvings in some rock formations, one of which was notably shaped to resemble a man in meditation. The location for such a piece of work was wonderfully chosen as a stream of water came to a cut off overhead allowing a waterfall to pour down on the statue's crown. Along with his other crew mates Alphie enjoyed what the island had to supply visually. "Geez this place is easy on the eyes. I wouldn't mind retiring here, tranquil setting, good booze, and I heard the women are just as fulfilling." Alphie looked on as the Ensigns continued to chatter amongst themselves and took the opportunity to catch up to his Captain who was in front, leading the Company.

Alphie wanted to pick his mind a little and get his insight on how he was progressing as a Marine. "Hey Cap." Alphie said as he came to the Captain's side. He gave Alphie a look of acknowledgment then pitted his focus back forward. "What's on your mind this time?" Him and his Captain had a good relationship, despite Alphie not seeing himself in the Marines for many years to come.

He still held this man in a high light despite that. Captain Blanka was like a mentor to him after all. "I was thinking of applying for the position of Lieutenant once we report back to base . . . what do you think?" The Captain looked over to Alphie only to see he was dead serious and he thought for a moment. Alphie could tell he was really mulling it over and working to not give Alphie a bs'd answer. "You have a lot of promise, so I don't doubt that you'll get the promotion in all honesty." It meant a lot coming from not only his superior officer, but Captain Blanka as a person himself. "For not lets focus on the task at hand though, okay." Alphie's face went stale and mundane when his Captain came back to with a typical comment from someone like him who tried to be professional 24/7. "Yeah, yeah, don't try to slip back into the Captain hat all slick like. You said what you said." His Captain shook his head, then stalled and held his arm out stopping Alphie from walking further. A few Marines weren't paying attention and bumped into Alphie from behind and in turn the whole Company came to a hold up. It was faint, but Alphie could hear them. He wasn't sure if they were citizens or pirates, but the Captain told the Company the citizens had agreed to stay in their town from this day on until the pirates were neutralized. "On your marks."

With the Captain's words came a wave of anxiety of Alphie's body. Not frightened, just his bodies natural response, getting revved up for combat. The rustling continued, but in time it stopped. Alphie could see a few frames ahead up the hill, they were moving perpendicular to Alphie and the company about 30m up ahead. Through the silence only wildlife dared to make noise or a move. Birds called out and a few rodents scurried about in the trees and things like that, but not a single human soul made any notable movement until the pirates initiated the skirmish. Coming charging down the hill, shouts of battle instantly engulfed the atmosphere and immersed Alphie into the combat vibe. It was like how the heat of a closed in car would suddenly cause all the windows to adopt moisture and become foggy at the same time robbing one of vision. Clothed in the garbs of chaos, Alphie forged onward, leading the assault with his Captain. The first pirate he came across met Same-kiri Bocho's edge messily as it forced part of him apart in a simplistic manner. Through flesh and bone alike, the cut hacked into the the pirate where the neck and the collarbone met. When the momentum had came to a halt, Basa found his sword deep in the man's chest cavity. It undoubtedly got to a lung, not only judging from the depth of the bite Alphie's blade took, but because of the sloppy cough of blood that came out the man's mouth.
Both his hands were on the handle of Same-kiri Bocho, and he knew better than trying to wrench the greedy bastard out of the guy's body. Instead he'd use his right foot's boot to sell the victim's body on weakening in the knees and giving in to the force from the kick to the gut. A solid thump from the collision with the body and more blood was spat out the ruffian's mug from the blow to the stomach. Most of it had adopted the guy's backwards momentum and made of mess of his face and slumped body that rested the foliage of the forest. By then Alphie was gone. Same-kiri Bocho had recoiled from the guy's chest, to his right shoulder in preparation for another cleave. Asymmetrical specks of red decorated the Ensign's visage as he pressed deeper in the altercation. Sights set on an unoccupied pirate about to backstab a marine who was clashing with a pirate, Same-kiri Bocho lunged from Alphie's shoulder to back of the serpent's neck. A bit of substance tried to hold the neck to the base, but Basa wasn't concerned with sticking around to see if the band of tissue had the strength. With enigmatic energy the blade of steel was hauled back the way it came. Whether he was fighting for justice or to be immersed in gory violence was hard to decipher, but in the heat of combat Alphie wasn't concerned with what others thought of him right now.
With the haste of a fiend, Basa used slick maneuver that used the torque and weight of his own body to counteract the sword's. With his left foot as the focal point, he'd pivot it to turn over the right shoulder while hauling the slab of murder with him to the approaching pirate. His charge came to a halt as he saw the behemoth violently reaching out for his head with vehement murderous intent. To Alphie's amusement, the pirate saw it as smart to raise a small buckler he had on his right arm to defend himself. Same-kiri Bocho would have blown the small shield to bits, shattered bones of the area the shield was covering, and knocked the peon a distance away down the hill. Upon impact with the unforgiving terrain, it'd be more than probable that the fool would pay for his idiotic maneuver with a dislocated shoulder or broken collar bone. Dispatched and forgotten, Basa was about to reel out with his great sword to cleave another pirate who was withdrawing a flintlock pistol from his waist, but he Same-kiri Bocho was stuck in a large sized tree. "Greedy bastard." He said as he released the handle of the weapon, and swayed to his left, the bullet being fired right before he did so. Lodging itself in the wood, Alphie reaching for his own firearm, but the pirate fired another shot. Ducking down, Alphie received a grazing blow on his left shoulder. Not deterred in the least bit, he still drew his pistol and fired, accurately lodging the shell in the man's cranium. Tucking Curtail back away, Basa's right hand reached out for Same-kiri Bocho and pulled it out of the tree. The battle was dying down at this point and just a few stragglers were left. Returning Same-kiri Bocho to its holster on his back, he withdrew Īzasu and helped dispatch the rest of the pirates. "That's all of them for now . . . Give me a headcount and gather the wounded. We need to establish our headquarters before nightfall." Only one Ensign had lost his life in the exchange and two others were wounded. Alphie was a bit surprised the amount of casualties was so small. Back when he was pirating he was used to being on the winning side and going to bed with majority of his allies still with him. It was a good thing though, so he was happy to help the wounded while they moved on.

With the skirmish for their positioning on the hill a snuffed out ember, the Marines pressed further up the hill and established themselves on the peak of the hill. Though it wasn't the highest point on the island, it was still a vantage point and allowed them to see out to great distances, seeing ocean from nearly any angle. "Set up camp and medics treat the wounded. Lieutenant Banks and Alphie with me to plan our assault." It wasn't rare for Alphie to be called in with the other Lieutenant to plan their moves when it came to combat strategies, the Captain was well aware of his background as a pirate and didn't have a problem with it at all. When Alphie spoke about it, he did get weary and usually tried to change the subject or removed himself from the conversation, but when it came to Alphie's experience from his past, he was all ears. "Alright word from the unit that headed out with the ship to the town reported that the pirates have occupied the town. This is an issue for obvious reasons, so we need to drive them out without harming the citizens." Both the Lieutenant and Alphie nodded. Browsing the depths of his mind, he tried to find a time he was in a similar situation, but found nothing. He'd have to base the approach off of a fresh strategy. "Lieutenant?" Captain Blanka looked at Banks who seemed to be deep in thought as well.
"If we use the landscape to our advantage, we can pull the docked marines around to cut off water escape, and split this unit into two." Alphie saw where the Lieutenant was going, he wasn't going for the scissor approach, but rather creating a canal, herding the pirates giving them only one direction to go to escape. "And approach from both sides like a traditional pincer. Push from the waters and squeeze from the sides, the pirates will be forced out into the wilderness." The Banka and Captain Blanka nodded. "That sounds good, do we have the men to potentially set up an ambush deeper int eh forestry for them when we force their retreat?" Lieutenant Banks pulled out a sheet of paper, it was the status report. "While that would be nice, with our numbers it'd be risking the safety of the ambush unit, since we have so many wounded." The Captain nodded as did Alphie. Basa himself would have went with the idea, leading eh ambush unit himself, but he knew how Captain Blanka didn't like risking people's lives in such a way and liked sure fire plans. It's why he was so reliable, because the tactics he agreed on always had so little room for error. "Basa . . . I'm going to put you in charge of the ambush squad." A look of astonishment was on both, Alphie's and Bank's face. "Are you sure, I understand you don-" "No, I'm sure. Bank you'll lead the squad approaching from the west and I'll command those coming from the east. I can only allot you five men, Basa. Is that enough?" Alphie nodded affirmatively. "Then we'll move out at night."
Alphie hadn't slept the whole time. He wasn't on watch, he was just restless. He was always this way when he knew a battle was on its way, especially with his enemies on the same island as him. Sharing the atmosphere, it was as if he could feel them through the air, simply because they shared the islands space. He was staring out at the lit up town, the vantage point truly was an advantage. When he went back to pirating, he'd be sure not to do stupid things like post up inside a town just because it was more comfortable living or to gloat. "Ready Basa?" The Captain's hand on his shoulder summoned his attention, with him were Alphie's five men. Coming to a stand, he gave a salute, he could see beyond the Captain the whole company had been divided into their squads. "Lets do it." He said releasing the salute and heading out with his team. Three of the five were sharpshooters, the other two were more skilled with swords. About one hundred meters from the town, they hid in the foliage. Their positioning was as planned, so the pirates would be herded to their location. In due time, shots began to rang off and the sound of battle ensued. "Here they come." Alphie said as he could hear the pirates shouting about retreating into the forest, but something went wrong. In the dark sky of the night, orange light began to grow bright and brighter in a spread. "Fire! There's a Fire, put out the fires!" "Shit!" Alphie cursed, they weren't prepared for such a thing. "Don't engage the pirates, let them run by."
He doubted Banks or Captain Blanka told their units to pursue the pirates with a fire going on. He knew how they were and without the backing of both units, if Alphie's engaged the pirates alone they'd be eliminated front eh pirate's sheer numbers if not their skill as well. But it was too late. Perhaps the Marine couldn't hear over the crackling of the fire, but he had fired a shot at a pirate that was apart of the wave heading towards their direction to get deeper in the forest. "There are Marines in the forest, it's an ambush!" They shouted, they seemed shook at first, but Alphie knew it wouldn't last for long when they figured out how heavily they outnumbered Alphie's unit. "Full assault! Don't hold back now!" Leaping safely out a 3m tree he was in, he pulled Īzasu off his hip along with Curtail in the other hand and ran into battle. "Fight and make way to the town, to regroup!" He commanded as he cut away at the pirates. Keeping tabs on his allies to ensure their safety, one of his marines was struggling against an axe wielding pirate and Alphie had to fire a bullet into the pirate. Killing the ruffian, he quickly raised his weapon to defend himself against a katana wielding pirate. Lifting up Curtail, he fired a round into the pirate's stomach. Stepping back in pain from the bullet, Alphie took advantage of the lowered defense and stabbed Īzasu ingot he man's back since he was leaned forward gripping his stomach.
img src="http://a.deviantart.net/avatars/s/k/skull-kitty12.gif?4" style="border-radius:50px;width:5%;padding:4px;opacity:0.5; position: inherit; float:right;">The town was in sight, and while a few of his marines were injured, they were making ground. Alphie acted as the front man and took on majority of the pirates to ensure his teams safety and it resulted in a few wounds, the most notable being one along his chest, then another being a shallow wound on the side of his neck barely missing the jugular. Lashing out wrathfully with a powerful right handed swing that crossed from his left side to his right, he cut the throat of a pirate. Quickly fixating his eyes upon a pirate aiming at him from almost behind a tree, he fired at the pirate. His bullet went into the tree, but it forced the pirate into cover, while Alphie made more ground towards the town when one of the sharpshooters shouted saying they had him covered. Running as fast as his tired legs could carry him, he saw the same sharpshooter catch a bullet in his chest from a different pirate. It entered from the side of his body and didn't enter, undoubtedly it swam deep and had probably punctured and organ. "Fuck!" Alphie said. "Hurry up and pullout!" He shouted, trying to gather the Marine to hoist his arm over Alphie's own shoulder. "I'm going to die man . . . I can feel it. Just go. You know I'm going . . . going to die too." It was true, Alphie did know, but it just didn't feel right to leave the guy behind to die, it just wasn't right. Shaking his head free of the thought, he ignored the Marines words and soon enough his group had made it far close enough tot eh town that the bullets whizzing by them had stopped whistling and the shouting of the pirates and the number of footsteps crunching leaves and stepping on occasional patches of dirt lessened. The glow of a roaring uncontrolled fire was never more comfortable. "Medic!" Alphie shouted as he fell to his knees, exhausted and moderately bloodied. He let the wounded marine slump off his back as he leaned to the side, then he sway the other way and fell limp. The others in his unit were a bit hurt too, but the guy Alphie was carrying needed the most assistance for obvious reasons. "Medic." He said once more, though it was more so under his breath since he was so tired. Rolling over to his back, while berthing heavily, he could see the shadows of people running in a panic to put the fires out. He'd awaken later that night.

Alphie had woken in a groggy stupor, a fresh scar across his chest aching through the bandages. "Basa get up." It was his Captain's voice and it snapped him up in attention by reflex. "agh." He gripped at his wound and eased back down, much to a medic's disapproval. "You have to take it easy, that cut across your chest isn't lethal, but it still needs you to be easy on your body to heal." Basa nodded and slowly rose up, taking in a shallow breath before healing out his mouth. The scent of charred wood and smoke was all in the air, the town was in bad shape and people were outside there homes assessing the damage and mourning despite it being so late at night. "Status report Captain!" A young Ensign approached in a salute with a sheet of paper in his other hand. "Lets hear it." Banks said front eh other side of Alphie. He hadn't even noticed him other there sitting on a crate smoking a cigarette. The tension in the air could choke a well experienced hooker with no gag reflex.

"While majority of the buildings in the town have been burned down, we have seventeen injured, but no civilian deaths. From our own men, we have one troop who lost his life, part of the Ambush detachment unit." The words were a dagger in his chest and he fell onto his back taking the impact of the ground and lifting his right arm up, the forearm resting horizontally across his forehead. His fist were gripped tight and hit bottom lip was brought in, being gnawed on by his teeth in anger. "It's a learning experience Basa. Don't be upset, learn so it doesn't happen again. You understand?" It was his first unit he lead without a superior being present and he couldn't help but be upset with himself. How would he be successful Pirate Captain if he couldn't even keep one alive out of a measly unit of five. Nodding through the anguish he felt, he pounded the fist of his left hand on the concrete surface that he laid on. "Yes sir." His voice was a bit muted and barely sounded out, but it was heard. Apparently he had already been briefed on what happened with the ambush unit, if not Alphie would have been getting an earful before being able to explain. For that he was grateful.
"So what's the next move Captain." Bank's expelled the smoke front eh cigarette, dropped it, then snuffed it out under his shoe. "The pirate's boat isn't docked at the public docks, so surely it's somewhere on this island's coast, maybe even a cove. Is our objective to exterminate them or just drive them out?" Bank's looked over to Captain Blanka who was looking out into the forestry. "We're here to drive them out . . . but knowing their nature and aim, if we don't take care of them now, they'll be back." Banks nodded, looking out to the ruin of the half burned down town. Alphie just laid silently, trying to muster up strength in his body. "I already have a unit ready to go out and scout." Banks stood up and pulled out then sparked another cigarette. "It's on your order." He said before taking a drag and blowing the fumes out elsewhere. Alphie wasn't much of a smoker, but often his mentor Archie was a chain smoker, in addition his time spent as a Red Water pirate exposed him to many who smoked not he regular. In turn he sometimes found himself feeding off the nicotine in the fumes, inhaling them in to soothe his nerves off of second hand smoke. "Go with them . . . I'll rally the remainder to back your unit in half an hour." "I'll go too." Alphie said propping himself up. "No, you're staying here, you need to let your body heal properly." Opening his mouth to speak once more, it was as if the Captain heard his gasp for breath. "And that's final." His mouth closed and he sighed. "Alright."
Listening to the sound of the first group mobilize and part, in due time Captain Blanka's unit did so as well, leaving Alphie and a few other wounded men behind. Working his body up to a sit, then up to a stand despite the pain, he began to look around for his equipment, before he was approached by a woman that was a native to the island. "Have you seen a big butcher knife looking sword." She ignored him. "If you're going out there despite being injured, you should drink this. It's Sake with medical properties. It'll stop the bleeding from your wound, but its very potent." Alphie hadn't even noticed the dish of sake in her hands and though he wasn't much of a drinker, he wasn't against being able to help Captain Blanka and everyone else. "Potent, as in I'll get intoxicated?" The girl scrunched her mouth to the side, it was bitter sweet. The Sake that is, drunk or not, Alphie needed the assistance of the alcohol to be able to get back out in the field. "Thank you." He winced format eh burn of the alcohol, traces of it streaming down the sides of his mouth and neck and getting into the wound. It didn't burn as bad as it should have. Continuing to look around for Same-kiri Bochi, in time he found it along with Curtail and Īzasu. Equipping his weapons, bandaged up, he tossed on his black officers jacket and departed. The alcohol had yet to disorient his senses, but it was working wonders to numbing the pain of his wound and keeping it closed.

In time he began to hear the sound of battle. Metal against metal, but also the sound of men yelling out in pain. Rushing ahead, he entered a clearing near a shallow pond of water, almost like a beach. Yet to be noticed he saw eight pirates and the Marine Battalion battling each other. He knew his Captain would be pissed, but he hadn't time to be concerned about the backlash he'd receive from his behavior. Charging in, the frames of Marines were just flickers in his peripherals as he weaved left and right between them. His right hand clasped the handle of Same-kiri Bocho, then once in range, he released a powerful swing that came form over his right shoulder and swung over to his left side. No Marines in the way, but a single pirate found himself getting bisected fro the fell cleave. With awe inspiring strength, he proceeded through this pirate and towards another. Raising his arms up to guard his body, metal vambraces protected his forearms and let him block  the blow despite it sending him away, his feet grinding against he terrain, until he shallow pond water slowed him."Basa what the hell are you doing out here?!"
"Don't worry about it, go get their Captain, leave this to me and Banks." Blanka cursed under his breath and though he was reluctant, Alphie's presence was helpful with the bind they were in. "Those with me, lets move on." Rushing beyond the seven pirates left, one of them tried to lash out at the Captain, but Alphie was quick to move swiftly in the line of the pirate's travel with his Shadow Step. Raising his weapon and positioning it so the flat face of the weapon was directed towards the incoming kick of the pirate, Alphie successfully blocked the blow. Swinging the blade outwards, it forced the pirate into an aerial position. From their he deftly flipped to find balance and he landed in the ankle deep water of the pond as well. "You sure you'll be able to fight well enough with that wound." Banks lit a cigarette and clenched his fist a few times warming them up apparently. "Yeah, one of the people from the town gave me some medicine. I'll explain later, lets just handle these guys." Banks chuckled and nodded. Rushing towards their enemies in synch, the duo watched each others backs as they combatted the pirates. Slicing down a pirate, Alphie would move to guard Banks' back. Banks kicking a pirate out conscious, he'd move to cover Basa. With their synergy, though they were out numbered, they were able down to chip down the pirates to three last drunks.
"That was pretty impressive." The pirate hiccuped as he spoke, obviously intoxicated. "But we're a tad stronger than that riffraff." He and the other two were obviously confident in their abilities and together they ran at Banks and Basa from their sides and one from the front. "Torch em!" Leaping skyward in synch, they each withdrew lighters in front of their mouth and sparked the flame. Breathing out a geyser of fire emerged from their mouths. Banks pushed Alphie backwards, the only area that was open and quickly crossed his arms as to defend agains the flames. "Shit, Banks!" When the flames died down, Banks stood with his arms still crossed in a guard, his whole being charred black and smoking. "Well ain't this a bitch." His voice was raspy, reflecting his damaged condition, before he fell over face int eh sand. One of the three walked up tot he downed body of Banks and gave him a hard kick to the ribs, sending him a ways away into the pond, but with his face up. "That was quick." The drunk hiccuped then they set their sights on Basa. "Lets kick this one around a bit more than we did that one." The chuckled in drunken stupor, their frames hunched over giddy with glee.
Rushing in, with rage fueling his movements, he swung horizontally to try to cut into the flesh of one of the drunks. Jumping over his sword and back some, the drunk evaded the slash. The other two ran in to exploit the opening when this happened. Releasing his grip of Same-kiri Bocho, Alphie too leaped upwards, but this time he withdrew his pistol and wakizashi. He'd need speed for this fight. Moving through a front flip like motion, his head was directed downwards thus allowing him to take aim at the top of one of the drunk's head. Firing a round into his crown, Alphie would naturally move throughout the rest of the flip and land, before charging forward. Īzasu in his right hand with Curtail in his left, he stabbed quickly multiple times at the man's body. His body movements were unnatural and hard to read, probably due to him being intoxicated, so Alphie had a hard time landing a blow, but the stabs were just distractions. Lifting Curtail he fired two rounds at the pirate and one lodged itself int eh man's chest. Effectively slowing him down, he slashed out at the pirate's chest with Īzasu to deal the finishing blow, but he was kicked in the back.

Stumbling forward, the pirate that was shot in the chest, chuckled despite the lethal wound he had been plagued with. Reeling back his fist, he shot a punch at Alphie's jaw knocking him off his feet. Splashing int eh shallow pond, he gathered himself to a stand or at least tried before being kicked with the reinforcement of speed from a sprint. Hit right in the mouth, he was sent back once more and with Curtail having entered the water, he would no longer be able to shoot it, since the gunpowder was wet. Releasing his grip off of Curtail, he looked up when he heard splashing in the water, the pirate charging at him. Pushing off his feet an open hand and a hand that was balled up around the handle of his blade, he moved himself a few meters to his left. Landing on his feet, he entered a ready positioning and ran towards the pirate who had redirected his charge towards his new location. Reeling back as if prepping for a swing, right before entering slashing range, he swung his arm forward letting the wakizashi sail through the empty space and plunge in the pirates chest.

The pirate was stunned from this and fell to his knees. Hands fiddling for the handle of the blade, he shared the grip with Alphie. Looking up at the Marine who was smiling at him, Basa pulled the wakizashi out his chest then gave him a kick in the chest forcing him into the water to die."Looks like little Alphie doesn't need my protection anymore huh?" Bank's voice was still raspy and forced out, it sounded painful. Rushing over to him, Alphie grabbed his arm and positioned it over his shoulder to help him to a stand. "Lay me in the sand, I'm not going anywhere any time soon." "Alright, I'm gonna go ahead to help the Captain." Banks nodded and closed his eyes to rest. "Careful now." Retrieving his weapons and sheathing them, he proceeded deeper into the island's forestry.

Trotting through the greenery and vegetation, Alphie began to notice he was losing his balance and becoming slightly disoriented as he pressed on. A bit light in the head, he had to stop for a moment to catch his breath and he also felt the need to cool down. "Crap I think that alcohol is getting to me.'' Taking a few breathes, he pressed on, but at a slower rate more so a jog now. "Blan- Capt'n Blanka! Where you at!!" He shouted in drunken stupor as he bounced throughout the greenery. The sight of a fallen Marine did little to sober him, it more so tossed him into an emotional fit to where he felt he was on the brink of crying. But as soon as a tear was readying itself to cascade form his eye and fall to the soil below, he bursted out in laughter at the poor fellows demise. "Oh . . . Oh man, that, that must suck a lot heheh. Don't worry bud. I'll- I'll get him for you heh." Stepping beyond the corpse a few steps later and Alphie was now in a blazing rage. "I'll get him for you!" Running at full speed now, his hazy vision shifted and tilted and turned and miraculously with the swaying of his vision, the trees tilted as well and swayed out his way, till he came to a clearing. A few marines and a few pirates stood, breathing heavily, each team apparently suffering some heavy injuries. *hiccup* There you are Capt'n."
"Basa what the hell is wrong with you!?" Alphie stumbled around, all attention drawn to him as he teetered back and forth, with furrowed brows, his focus pit on the pirates. "I told you I took *hiccup* some medicine Capt'n. I'm here to help.'' A giddy smile slid over his face as he took Same-kiri Bocho out from over his shoulder. The blade of his right side, as soon as his left hand graced the handle, his frame materialized in front of one of the pirates, Same-kiri Bocho up to the heavens, albeit angled slightly, to bite into the man's flesh from the collar bone down through the ribs in a diagonal fashion. Blood seeped heavily from the wound only after the unlucky grunt hit the ground and Alphie hoisted his weapon onto his right shoulder. The weight pulling one of his feet back, when it tapped down on his shoulder, he stumbled backwards many steps before catching his balance. "Kind of a big sword aren't you? Heheh." "I don't have time for this, prepare to cover me." Captain Blanka gave the order and the Marines readied themselves, shortly after he took off. Drawing his saber, he swung at the pirate Captain, some drunken bloke who finessed each swing and even took swigs of sake while doing it. "Now that I've drank the mystical sake *hiccup*. I'm to strong for you!" With exclamation came a strong fist tot he sternum blowing the Captain backwards off his feet. The pirate's footwork said he was ready to give chase, but the shout of gunfire, redirected the tension in his legs to push him elsewhere to avoid.
In the meantime Alphie had gotten himself surrounded by the remaining four pirates, each chuckled at him heinously and Alphie just stared at them with a raised brow, red in the face. "Who er you lookin' at?" As he took Same-kiri Bocho off his shoulder, the weight of the weapon again, pulled him over to his right side. Skittering over in the direction of a pirate, he stepped strong with his right foot and rotated on a strong pivot. Swinging and turning over his left shoulder, he used the weight of Same-kiri Bocho to swoop him around and cleave one pirate who hadn't readied himself for the drunken assault. After such a kill, Alphie pulled the weapon that was now on his left over to his right as he leaped at another pirate. His guard was composed of a katana, but it was getting bashed by Alphie's repetitive strikes and the sound of the blade giving away was dining in everyone's ears. Before he could finish the blade however, he was charged from all sides by the remaining three. Withdrawing Curtail, he expended a bullet into two of their stomachs, when he leap back from his close quarters combat with the defending hooligan. Reeling Same-kiri Bocho over his left shoulder, as Curtail was in his right hand and the handle of his sword was in his left, once the slab of steel cleared his left shoulder, he released his grip on the handle letting it safely fall tot eh soil down below to sink into it. Drawing Īzasu, he planned to speed things up.
He held the Wakizashi in a backhanded grip as he assaulted the other two pirates. With each swing his body lunged outwards, but as if it had the weight of many bricks in his shoulders. His frame was drooping sloppily and his eyes were nearly closed. Warding off the feeling of alcohol was getting harder by the moment and his messy fighting showed it. Tossing out a sloppy chop, Alphie tried to pull his body back up to aim a shot with Curtail, but recoiled to far. Stumbling back, the pirates took advantage of his disoriented state and bashed him in the gut with a powerful torpedo like kick. "Forget me, cover Basa." Captain Blanka was barely keeping up with their Captain, but he was sacrificing his help for the sake of Alphie. Coming to his feet, he raised Curtail once more, but saw his opponents weren't in front of him anymore. "Hrm?" Turning around, he was hit int he jaw with a powerful punch, then another to the chest. Stumbling back, his mouth dripped a bit of blood and was showing signs of bruising. Gripped in a full nelson like hold, the pirate then began to work Basa's torso like a punching bag. Dropping his weapons from the pain, he was on the brink of consciousness. The alcohol had done well to suppress his consciousness, to the point he passed out. Still beating his limp body, the marine Ensign's Captain Blanka sent neutralized the two pirates with a hail of bullets in the first and sword strokes in the other.
One of them picked up Basa's bloody and battered body and drug him to where Captain Blanka was while the others had went ahead. All that was left was to defeat their pirate Captain Mumei, but he was proving to be leagues stronger than his own men.. Perhaps this sake really did have mystical properties. Blanka and the drunken Captain weren't even going blow for blow, Blanka was getting beaten. Even with the semi-coordinated assistance from the other Ensigns, Mumei was able to just blow them away whenever he willed it with his strength. One final powerful kick to the chest sent Blanka on to his back, bleeding heavy and in a world of pain. "I already found what I came for, I don- *hiccup* don't have interest in killing you guys." With that, the drunk Pirate Captain took his leave. In about half an hour the Marines awoke, all save for Alphie thanks to Lieutenant Banks arriving and bringing everyone to. "Captain! Captain where'd the pirates go!?" Blanka groaned in agony. "They got away . . . he got away." Bank went over to Basa, but after a few minutes of shaking and slapping the Ensign remained sleep. "It's no use, he's out cold . . . round everyone up, we're heading back to the town." Banks didn't know how to take the defeat and nor did Blanka. While they could report back saying they got the pirates off the island like their mission asked of them, the fact the Captain left in tact and because he defeated them left a bitter sweet taste in their mouth.
